And a great secret as its tucked in the back corner of a half-empty strip mall, with a sign saying only "Japanese Restaurant". Try the the Nabemono Fish pot which is a huge steaming wide bowl of light broth packed with several kinds of fish, a small amount of Tempura shrimp, mussels and jumbo scallops, nori, cellophane noodles, carrot, mushroom, onion, large tender pieces of tofu, and lots of napa cabbage. Plus it also comes with a side of rice and a cucumber salad. The eel bowl was simply delicious and had a nice-sized portion of eel. They have a variety of dishes combining smaller entrees with either sushi/sashimi or tempura if youre having trouble deciding on just one. A unique appetizer is the stone clams- which are more delicately gorgeous Japanese presentation than actual food. (5 tiny bite-sized clams on the half-shell with Ponzu and spicy seasoning.) Order it to impress a date. Theyre almost too pretty to eat. Our waitress was also outstanding. She described each dish as if shed been in the kitchen making it herself. Her name was Pai.

We used to eat at Fujiyamas at least once or twice a week when we lived in Prescott, and always loved the food, atmosphere, and everything about this restaurant! Since weve moved, we cant fin anywhere near as good, so we absolutely have to stop here if were in Prescott. While we miss Mamasan and Papasan (I apologize for the spelling), Danny has done an incredible job taking over the restaurant, and the food is the same (and maybe a little better-the California rolls are wonderful) since hes been managing everything. Anyone who has the chance definately should try (and frequently return)Fujiyamas, and were hoping to go back to visit very, very soon (Im craving their Katsu)!

My husband and I started going to Fujis back when it was owned by an older Japanese man and his wife. At that time Bao was a server.. when she bought it, so many things changed and it developed a nice homey feeling. We have been to every Sushi Restaraunt in the area, and there isnt a one that makes us feel comfortable and welcome like Bao does at Fujis. My three year old son even loves going in and hugging Bao, sitting down and enjoying sushi. This is a great place, comfortable atmosphere, great food, great options for food other than sushi. Try the Bao roll and the stone clams - you wont be disappointed!

"The sushi was good, in 2011 even mid-AZ can have good sushi. But heres why Im a local who will never go back...........Ive had better table service at a dive bar. Ive been a server and that doesnt make me hyper critical but rather hyper forgiving. And still the service was laughable, non-exsistant and border line insulting. DONT ACT LIKE YOUR DOING US A FAVOR (not one but a total of 3 differnt employees. Bottom line is, you can roll the dice and try to get some decent food but Id hurry because this place wont last another 12 months.

My wife and I relocated to Prescott last December and finally got around to trying this restaurant last Sunday, with high expectations. We were very disappointed. The spider roll was the worst we have ever had, and the only one we have never finished. The nagiri and sashimi quality was below the average of what we were used to in Phoenix area restaurants. We will give this place another chance at some point in the future, but we are really hoping they improve between now and then.

Sushi was bland - little flavor. Portions small. Price quite high. Ive had better from grocery stores in Atlanta. I had the tuna, yellowtail, mackerel, salmon, tuna roll and rainbow roll. The RR had very little fish on top, a huge amount of rice and was filled with something that tasted like cole slaw - a poor fit. And all that for $38.00, plus the tea pots and cups are plastic! Trust me, youll be sorry if you go.

Ive eaten sushi in all four corners of the world but what I love about this place is that its no nonsense. No glitzy names, no rolls with stuff on stuff on stuff. Pure, unadulterated good, quality sushi. Service is hit or miss, but overall you get taken care of. The place is getting a little tattered, but dont let that influence your opinion . I love the sushi, tempura, bentos.. Its all really good.

We head over from Embry-Riddle as much as possible. Some of the best sushi in the Prescott area. The lunch special comes with soup, appetizer (commonly pickled cucumber), salad, entree like sesame chicken, teryaki steak or chicken, and your choice of sushi, along with a bowl of white rice. Prices range from $7.95 to $9.95. The food and service are fantastic. Highly recommended!

Drove 2 1/2 hrs from the valley hoping to try the sushi restaurant with the best rating and was disappointed. Came in at 8:12pm and got told that they were close while still seeing customers eating. On the window they had their opening hours were till 9:00pm and till 11:00pm on the internet. Thats no way to treat your customers.

It was horrible an eel sauce taste like soy sauce, there were little bugs flying around, the rolls were tiny an the selection sucked, the cooks talked more than cooked, if I could give this review without having to put any stars I would, clearly they paid someone off to give them a 5star rating seriously

I have been to Fujiyamas, since the day it opened. My friends ,,,,my husband ,,,and family have had hundreds of meals there. Every meal has been fresh and delicious. This is the number one restaurant in Prescott,in our opinion . You are treated like family. If you love Japanese,,,this is your place!!!!!!!

By far one of our favorite places for a night out! Great prices & good sushi! The combos are an EXCELLENT deal & the service is VERY good. The owner knows us as repeat customers & has stopped by our table to say "Hello" when we come in, she is very sweet!

Great restaurant, fast service with terrific food and moderate prices. Screwy hours, but worth the inconvenience of irregular hours in every way. One of Prescotts best and the only one worth going to for very good Japanese /Chinese/ Thailand type food.

We really enjoy coming here. The food is yummy and well portioned and the sushi is made fresh right in front of you! The prices are fair and its one of the best sushi places in Prescott. Also, the miso soup is excellent!
