Being from England, I was pretty excited to find a place to eat as Ive been missing the food. Anyway, the waitress we got was hideously inattentive and rushing us, the drinks we were given where watered down, and now for the food. There is a selection of British food, had my sausages been warm they wouldnt have tasted bad, however my sausage where cold. my whole meal was cold and my husbands meal was also cold. Pretty sure both of our meals where just served up from remnants of other peoples left over meals. Anyway, it was a busy day as there was a cultural festival near by, so I will let the food being not so fantastic slide, going when its less busy I assume theyll be more attentive and caring with preparations. Now back to the very rude little waitress. There was another on who seemed VERY nice towards the people she was serving and very caring, so maybe its luck of the draw if you get misery or not. Anyway, she came over and asked if everything was okay, I said my Yorkshire Pudding wasnt right, I said this incredibly polite and nicely, she took it as some horrible offense "yeah well we made them different" and stomped off, before I could get another word in. I have no idea why she was constantly so rude to my husband and I. I feel like I should just point out, looking young, does not mean I am poor or a bad person. I can only assume this waitress thought about my husband and I. If youre into Warmed up pub food (and to be fair, British pubs do the same) then go here. Its fun seeing the walls which are decorated lovely and the little rooms, rather than one large dining hall. However, if youre looking for good service and tasty food, this isnt the place to go.

The Rose and Crown has a fantastic venue in heritage square, great food and beer selection, and is dead around lunch time. I dont know why either. The pizza place across the way has a vallet and ten minutes after opening, they had a half hour wait. We walked right into the R+C pub with three kids they could easily accommodate with a great kids menu. Almost anything you want can be found in their $8 lunch menu. Fish n chips (voted best in Phoenix and looked amazing), a delicious classic burger, leek and ale soup, and I have to recommend their roast beef sliders. I really had two roast beef sandwiches and some fries they were so big. Their beer selection is varied; 12 taps and many bottled choices. Altogether just a fantastic experience. R+C can cater to any party Id say. They have pool and darts like a proper pub as well. Go for lunch because this place is slammed in the evening and on a game day, forget about it. Theres no parking at the restaurant. Youd need to park at the Chase Field garage and walk over.

This is one the best downtown bars. Located in heritage park, this place has a great beer selection that partners with a good British menu. It is located in an historic Phoenix building that splits into two different side bars. The floors creak like you would expect an older building to, which adds to the character and overall pub feeling of this bar. If you come during the week, go on a Wednesday, they have one of the best trivia scenes around. Staff is attentive and friendly (Jen and Mary are my favorite). Any other time is a great time to check this place out as well. They frequently participate in many of the local pub crawls and other events (ie zombie crawl).

It lists itself as an English pub. Fish & Chips is, or should be, the main attraction on the menu. I ordered the special - a half order of fish (cod) & chips and a cup of French onion soup. I found the cod to be inedible - I forced down 2 small bites before I gave up on it. The soup was covered in a layer of cheese thick enough to be measurable with a childs ruler. Once I fought my way through the cheese, there were about 3 whole slices of bread in the soup. Unfortunately, there was only 1 sliver of onion in the bowl. The potatoes werent bad. Worst excuse for a meal Ive had in decades! If you have to ask if I will go back, you havent read this review.

On Sunday we were looking for a fun place to take an out of town guest for brunch. We found this place. We heard they had a $4 breakfast plate, and a good draft beer selection. So we went here. The vibe here is amazing, the food was incredible and their beer list was impressive. They even have a beer brewed by Four Peaks exclusively for them. We also ordered some Scotch eggs. SO good! It was a great experience, and 3 of us ate, and drank, for less than $40! Oh, and they have $3 mimosas on Sunday. If you are looking for a unique, authentic experience, I highly recommend The Rose and Crown Pub. Big fan!!!

We decided to eat here for the first time in 3 years. It was terrible . The fish and chips were beyond greasy and flavorless. This is coming from someone who can appreciate a greasy meal. My husband also ordered the fish and chips, but when he picked up his fish, about 2 tbs of water rushed out. We are conviced the reason it was so terrible was that it was previously frozen. The tarter sauce was runny, bland and had so many large chunks of pickle that it was practically a wasted effort. The fries were overly seasoned and not appropriate for fish and chips. The only bright side was the iced tea.

A british-style pub in an old victorian-feeling bungalow with high ceilings. It was obviously a residential house around the turn of the century, as the "bar" is in the entryway and the dining areas are in the "living rooms". Pretty small, but you could probably fit in groups of 4-6. Lots of outdoor porch seating that wasnt being used since it was so hot at noon. Theres a pool table in one room. The menu is very short but has good food, I was able to get soup and salad (not on the menu), for $8. Curry soup (it has a funny name) was tasty, as was the Caesar salad.

If you are pregaming for a baseball game, this place is definitely worth a visit. They have pretty decently priced drinks and specials (like $3 bloody Marys before 12 i think). Their appetizer plate of cheesy fries was freaking delicious: giant steak fries, tons of cheese, BACON, jalapeno, tomatoes and ranch dressing. Everything was in over-abundance and the potatoes were piping hot and fresh off the fryer. Even with 3 hungry boys and a girl that can eat a lot (cough cough), we still couldnt finish it. Maybe we will have to come back and take it as a challenge.

The drinks were good and reasonably priced, however the bartender was dismissive and rude while we were ordering. After we returned to get a drink of water after visiting the historic district, the bartender said "What do you want?" In an angry tone. When I asked for water, he said: "This is a bar, I cant be giving you guys water all the time." even though we had purchased drinks earlier and dropped at least $25. Maybe the bartender was having a bad evening, but that kind of attitude does not win customers. This bar can really work on customer service.
