Poor Richards review needs to be taken down. The "fine upstanding" patron/reviewer has been a problem more than a few times in the past. This customer is a huge man, but gets trashed immediately after just a few drinks. He gets cut off almost every time hes at The Break. The night he is fraudulently referencing was no exception. He lives close by, and walks to and from The Break, or at least that is what he has stated. This night, he was fall down drunk as usual, despite having been cut off quickly. A staff member refused to let him walk home and called a cab, telling him that the establishment was paying for his ride home. After he tried to escape (after agreeing to the cab,) a staff member sat with him to babysit him to try to prevent another escape attempt. The staff member had to leave him alone briefly, and he agreed again he would stay there and wait for the cab. Upon return of the staff member, he was gone. At this point, 2 staff members ran outside chasing after him in the direction he went, yelling his name to try to get him to come back, to no avail. Fast forward to the next morning. This patron returned, with his father. (Did I forget to mention the patron is near 50 years old?) So, yeah he showed up with his daddy behind him. Apparently he somehow made it to his parents house the prior night, and then proceeded to assault his elderly mother. Then in a pathetic attempt to have no accountability whatsoever, he told his daddy some bs story about being drugged. Said he had people follow him. (Yep he did. The 2 employees trying to get his ass back to wait for the cab.) The state he was in was the exact state he is always in after a few drinks. So if he was drugged, it was by himself, which may be the case. How quickly such a large man becomes intoxicated could be explained by other chemicals coming into the picture. Anyway, this customer stayed away for a few weeks. Upon his return, management had decided that he was never to be served more than 3 drinks, regardless of how long he stayed. Once this information was relayed to him, he became irate. And apparently immediately chose to write this review in retaliation. If Google doesnt remove the review, then Poor Richard, you definitely should. Writing a fraudulent, potentially damaging review like this without evidence is illegal. There is no investigation. There was no toxicology done. Because this never happened.

I decided to try this place out some time ago since it was close. The service was lacking but nonetheless I kept coming and it became a regular hangout to shoot pool for me and some friends. They started a league night for pool on the same nights we would normally come out so we got asked to leave. Numerous times we were left upstairs to fend for ourselves, if we wanted anything we had to go down stairs and ask for it while the people working would Bullshit with the customers seated at the bar. The final straw for me was being spoken to in a condescending manner by the head waitress which obviously had a superiority complex and knows nothing of quality service. We always tipped well even at 20% or better. Oh and to show up for a small glass of beer at a cost over $4.00 is flat ridiculous. The Bout Time in Herriman just up the road seems to be willing to accept or generous tips as well as a $5.00 stein. Thx for helping me find an establishment that understands that service is the only thing that sets you apart when youre providing the exact same goods as the place down the street.

I was really hoping to like this place. Its close to where I live and promises a fun atmosphere. A fun place to watch sport. Went in for a late lunch today: good food and just so-so service. But the real reason Im not ever going back is because while I was there, two middle-aged men in the grips of hard mid-life crises pulled up in an all white lifted pick up truck with The Breaks logo on it. I managed to get my eyes rolled back around from the back of my head and went inside to pay my bill (yeah - I had to hunt down our waiter to pay her). Thats when I heard one of the men refer to the two female waiters as "tweedle dee and tweedle dumb" and then proceed to have a casual profanity laced conversation that could be heard from half-way across the restaurant. I assume these guys are somehow the ownership of The Break and it makes me shudder to know that my hard earned money is supporting such insolent douche bags. I cant live with that. And if you value things like respect, dignity, and the good in humanity - youd do the same.

1 star only because there isnt anything lower. Probably the worst service that I have ever received. Waited over an hour and 1/2 for artichoke dip appetizer. Came out with food. I understand that they were busy but the table behind us that came in the same time had eaten and left before we got our appetizer. Three other tables around us that came in after us got their food before us. Busy doesnt explain that. I know that they are a bar and not a restaurant but come on! The waitress didnt even remember who ordered what. Then to top it off rhe one of the orders was prepared wrong. No chicken in the burrito. Very disappointing and embarrassing! We were trying to introduce friends to The Break. They will never be back. I am a regular so I will come back but only for lunch.

The Break is a very clean place with nice staff. This place is very close to work so I come out here often for lunch. The food is good and my portions have always been enough. I like their fry sauce and burgers. I feel that the price is right for the food. I would actually give the place a five star but the food is not super. There is only one waitress working during the day, but I am not a needy customer and she has always given us good timely service. I would recommend this place for a quick lunch where you can watch some sports and hang out. I really like the fact that there is not music so loud I cant think or speak to whom I am with. Get the burger and you wont be disappointed.

The food is better then expected, BUT, the door-guy and his "friend"? are insane. I am 35 years old, have a family of 5, own 3 homes close to soda row here in daybreak, and a local business owner. Yet, being a short, blonde woman, I am harassed by the same door man each and every time I come to buy food or grab a drink. Its ridiculous and embarrassing to be called, "baby", "sexy young thing", "are you sure this is your ID?" I realize it takes a lot of experience, intelligence, and a college education to be a bouncer at a small town bar, but the least they can do is be welcoming to their guests. We will no longer be going here, nor any of our friends whove had similar experiences.

Warning to anyone who cares about having clean food served to you. After watching our server rub down a couple tables after taking our order and then going and putting her hands directly into the chips to scoop up our order of Chips and salsa all before even considering washing her hands. Then to make me feel as if Im the crazy one for asking about to be served with proper etiquette and food handling. Its unfortunate this is the only bar option Utahs west side has to offer. Not to mention the extra attention the regulars get from the servers fishing for tips over offering decent service to new customers searching for a local bar
