Came in at around lunch time to find the restaurant petty full the tables that were open were dirty. I asked what was on the supreme quesadilla. I was told meat cheese sour cream and guacamole. So I order it along with a carne asada burrito . It comes out with no meat. Beans only. My girlfriend goes and tells them she is unsatisfied they say sorry it doesnt come with meat. That is an extra charge. She comes back to the table unhappy so i took the quesadilla back to the counter. Explained again. They said I must have misheard her. I explain we would not have ordered this item. I ask them to re make it. They simply say NO. SO I REQUESTED A REFUND. They did give me my money back. But in truth I should have returned the rest of the food to so I wasnt continuing to support their wrong choice not to keep the money and not just re make the item to make their customer happy. But since there was a subway next door I sent my girlfriend to get a sandwich. I wasnt trying to get something for free. Just what i went in there to order. They are unwilling to resolve my issue and created an uncomfortable bad customer experience... I will not return I would suggest the same of others. There is another much better Mexican food place in the same plaza. Go there. He is friendly unlike here

for all the MENUDO LOVERS, you have to stop eat this place. EL METATE MEXICAN FOOD..I was visiting MESA and stop there because I was in mood for real Mexican food in the middle of the week...went inside and saw they selling MEDUDO.. MENUDO is only serve and sold on WEEKEND... I ask the worker how was the menudo. SKEPTICAL I was , the worker said it was fresh and very delicious.. I took my chances because the majority of time I have eating MENUDO is average with bad meat. and you have to eat very early in morning to get fresh meat/ when I got my plate and put all the servings, It look fresh cook and the MEAT was fresh and great. not the second grade meat the other menudo places give you. did I mention it was like3 oclock in the middle of week. and also had some chicken tacos very good too. prices very reasonable.. and is only like 10 minutes from POWERS ROAD and highway... on main street next to subway.. THE VERY BEST MENUDO I HAD in very very longgg time...

food was very bad.. out here in East Mesa it is hard to find decent or good mexican food but after tasting this i am 100% i am sticking to filabertos. I had the green chili plate and it was weird.. that is the Only word i can use to describe it, tasteless, clumpy sauce, cold and tasted like it was made a week ago and halfway reheated. my wife had the carne asada taco... the meat was "grey" and tasted as if it was original frozen beef, thawed and cooked over a week ago and then reheated today as well. The rice was good i guess and the beans were not bad also but reminded me of beans from a can with melted cheese on them. The Only reason i went to this place was due to the reviews on google so i feel it is my duty to tell the truth about my experience today and save someone a stomach ache and money.

A friend and I ate here recently and it was good. I had the two cheese enchiladas ($3.55) and a beef taco ($1.85). The place was clean and the service was adequate. We were the only ones in the dining room, but the drive-thru was seeing some action. They serve Menudo (Colorado) everyday ($5.69) where most places only serve it on the weekend. I will most likely return. BTW, if you want to see a menu with prices, click on the photos and go through them and theyre there. The link to their website did not work at the time of this posting. El Metate is opened from 6:00 AM til 10:00 PM Monday- Saturday, and on Sunday from 8:00 AM til 8:00 PM.

5 star all around for delicious authentic food,friendly service and for giving exactly what I pay for! This is one of the few places that do not water down the salsa which expresses a lot of what business they offer which is absolutely great in each and every category. Todo de este restaurante es respetable de servicio a su comida. Lo recomiendo si se le antoja comida Mexicana.5 Estrellas.

Adobada tacos----> no flavor Cabeza tacos-----> no flavor Piña fountain drink-----> tastes funny I did try the chicken wings, those werent too bad. The salsa also has no flavor. But it does seem busy for some strange reason. I recommend you go next door to the subway instead. This place aside from the customer service is a disappointment.

Horrible I found a hair in my food after two bites of my burrito brought it up to the counter and she asked for the hair. My husband folded the napkin up and we couldnt find it. She said she needed evidence.. Who would make that up after just two bites of a burrito and not every apologize .. Terrible service and disgusting.

Whenever I get to this side of town, this is "want" becomes a huge NEED. I love their Machaca burrito, the Carne Asada, and rolled chicken tacos. I am craving it just seeing their Name! Ugh... now I must go and get my craving satisfied! Thank you!

Heard about this place from my father when I moved out here from IL. Havent tested most of the menu because all I ever get from this place is the Carne Asada burrito. SO GOOD! I imagine their other food is amazing too, but that burrito has me hooked!

As an office manager near by, my employees eat here on a weekly basis and continue to enjoy the food that is served. Antonio and staff do a great job preparing fresh ingredients and are very friendly and personable. Great place to eat!! Enjoy!

I just love this restaurant....cant get enough of it. Love the staff. Friendly, caring. I specially love when I order something and ask for a bottle of the red salsa...I love this salsa. If u havent try there food, u dont know what ur missing....

This was a disappointing visit to this restaurant. Got over charged and food was only slightly warm. Told they only sell 2 enchiladas at a time when Ive been there several times before and ordered 1 enchilada alacart . I will not be back.

Its a good fast food Mexican restaurant. I eat here often and mostly get the carne asada burrito or the carne asada torta (comes with fries). The place is similar to Filibertos, but with some differences. Worth a try, if you work near by.

The people are rude their food is expensive they charge way too much and they dont understand English very well and generally you have to wait to get some service there ! ! !
