I went for dinner last week and has the most frustrating service of my life. Being a new place youd think theyd receive you with big smiles etc. Nope. We were seated. Our waiter was some kid giving us the impression that he was being forced to be our service person, that we were annoying him by merely asking the normal questions when one goes out to eat. He didnt know his menu. The food. Well, we waited forever for our food. We received it and wasnt what I expected. It was lacking flavor big time. I almost questioned what I was eating. Ive eaten at the other Morenos in Mesa and at the one in Chandler. This Morenos is not living up to the name in both food and service. Not knowing better, my brother went over for lunch today. He was charged $1 for an extra clean plate to serve his toddler on. Really?! He receive the same horrible service. Want better food or service? Go down the Street to Señor Taco, Power/McKellips.

Hostess was kind. She wasnt sure what happened to our server so she decided to get us our drinks. She offered lemon and forgot. Although it was not crowded our server took about 20 minutes to even come cable. The apologize because he was also serving as bartender to some outside customers. Mesa and the Mexican food place that does not have a taco Tuesday special. Everything in my boyfriends dinner had cilantro, and it did not say this on the menu. And for some weird reason he does not like cilantro. So at least when the server realized we were unhappy he offered to fix it. Speaking of the menus we were blessed to have them taking up space on our table throughout the whole meal. Also Ive never heard my boyfriend complain so much and one place as I did here today.

The taco salad was very good, with a good portion. The quesadillas are delicious and filling. The salsa, beans and chips are very yummy. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars- It would be nice if it was a better quality lettuce used than just iceburg. (If there were dessert sopapillas, it would be great.) Also the ice cream we got for dessert was all hard and icy. Like it was pre-scooped and frozen into a large ball, in a pan in the freezer beforehand. And the mini dessert chimis were not that fabulous. I would maybe get the chocolate one again. The others had hardly enough, non-frozen filling to taste. Wont be wasting my money on that again.

The food is good, but we waited more than 45 minutes for our food. Several people got up and left. When we finally got someones attention they told us they had two large groups on the patio. That wouldve been nice to know up front. By the time our food arrived I was full from the chips and salsa. At check out they didnt even consider comping for our inconvenience. 10% might have been a nice gesture since we stuck it out. Well give this place another try, but if we see a repeat performance I will pass on the future. I recommend the green chili. It has a nice flavor and my enchilada was a nice treat for lunch the next day.

So happy I found a location near me!!! Staff where amazing and service was fast. I had the green chili pork chimichanga. It was one of the best I have ever had!!! Amazing! We also had the torta, street tacos and soft tacos. All amazing flavor, and fresh! The refried beans are delicious!!! Oh and did I mention full bar!!!! Cant wait to come back!!! Couldnt hold back long enough to get before pictures and that doesnt happen often!

Best Mexican food in the area. Had the seafood chimi...amazing shrimp and pineapple salsa inside. Fried to a perfect crisp topped with sauce that could be consumed by the gallon. Best flan I have ever had...Creamy with the perfect bitter note of burnt sugar on top. Service was quick and friendly. Had a wonderful talk with the Manager, she is very knowledgable and a keeper. Thank you Morenos...We will be back. Alot!

We have been searching for 5 years for good Mexican food in Tempe & Mesa....FINALLY, we have found a place that doesnt have good Mexican food, but EXCELLENT.!! Morenos is the only place we will go now for Mexican Food. Service was outstanding & our waitress was so kind & helpful.!! On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best) we would rate Morenos a 10 for sure!! Thank you for serving outstanding food & great service!!!

Management staff lets the employees hang out to dry. There was 6 severs on one side of the restaurant and 1 person being the bartender and the waitress on the otherside which is larger. Co oletely unacceptable from a place that is less than 1/2 full. Great example of someone making manager and working less. Been her 1 hour after ordering food. Dont have it uet. So cant comment on that.

Ever have one if those "Lets just eat here" moments? We were blown away by the amount of obvious love, care and work thats gone into this place. The chips came with beans and two types of salsa (all housemade) which were amazing. The meals themselves were absolutey phenomenal and this is our new go-to Mexican food stop now. Its definitely worth your time to stop and check It out!

I think most people have a "go to" restaurant & for us its MORENOs for Mexican food. Weve been around Mesa & the Phoenix area for many years. Its wonderful to see a new business succeed right from the start. Thats Morenos! Wonderful menu! Excellent service! Nice atmosphere! If youre in the east valley or really anywhere in the valley, give it a try! You wont be disappointed!

This is our third time here and it keeps getting better. Tonight our server Pillar helped with our to go order. She had the kitchen seperate all the fixings for a taco dinner so they wouldnt get soggy, as they were for my dinner at a much later time then when my girlfriend stopped in for dinner on site. Great food!! Even better staff!! Our new fav place.

Sorry my fellow gringos, this place is horrible and the solo gringo clientele says it all. Theres nothing about the place thats authentic, ok, maybe some of the staff but the food is HORRIBLE!! Fortunately a three hour drive south totally unnecessary to find MUCH MUCH better comida mexicana. VERY DISAPPOINTED. ONLY good thing, staff very friendly.

Food gets four stars but their customer service only gets one star. Sad that they were all short with everyone and had no plans to ever ask if we wanted or needed anything else. They were rude when bringing out our food. Sad because the food was really good. But customer service is a big part of what brings us back to places. Very disappointing.

Was clean as I walked in. Chips were oily and salsa was like pace out of a jar. Got the chimichanga. Fried tortilla and nothing but bland chicken inside. No cheese no sauce. Only thing that kida saved it was guacamole on top and was expensive for what I got. No beans and rice and was $11. It was a new experience and Ill never go back again.

Bad experience. The online menu is falsely advertised. The Morenos burrito states it is SERVED with rice and beans, however the location said no it does not come with it and asked us if we would like to order it as a side and pay for it. Bad customer experience for sure. I did not end up ordering, I chose to spend my money else where.
