This was the worst customer service experience Ive ever had. After having a request for reservations denied because there were only two of us, we went and requested to be seated outside and were told we could sit inside until there was a spot which would only be a few minutes. No one ever came back and said anything about it so we grabbed a waiter and ordered food. We used a coupon that was expired, but not in an obvious manner, so we didnt realize it. The waiter looked at it and said we could use it. After we ate the mediocre food, the waiter said that his manager informed him we couldnt use the coupon. I explained to the manager all that had happened, and said the least he could do would be to honor the coupon. He said no without considering any alternative. Terrible, terrible management and overpriced food.

Sadly, the "new management" is horrible.. Since new ownership, the portions are literally HALF the size they were and the prices have been raised to $5+ more, although the flavor is still good.. I really am just disappointed. To add chicken to my salad it cost $6 and I received 7 small pieces of chicken, what the hell! I did like el chanate before the new management took over, the prices were good compared to everything else in Alta, and the food was good/ plentiful after a long day of hiking or skiing. Just super disappointed..

After reading the reviews, I did not know what to think. But I took a chance and went. The chicken fajitas were very good, and the carne asada was excellent (yes, I went twice)! Maybe they are inconsistent, or maybe some of the reviewers had very high expectations. But on the two nights I went the food was great and the cost reasonable considering the location in a ski resort.

The food is kind of Americanized Mexican food. The food is decent. View is alright, situated in a way that you cant see the mountains because of the trees. However the service was VERY slow, the waiter was nice and delivered the correct meal. Would recommend, just expect smaller portions and a higher price as it is a ways from the nearest town down the canyon.

I will give two stars for the good food, that despite having to wait forever to get, was surprisingly still warm. The chips and salsa were ok, but not great. Small portions and high prices were expected, but service was horrible. Maybe nobody tips good this time of year so they just dont care? We almost got up and left a couple of times.

We were worried because the reviews didnt look good, but we were pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was excellent, the food was delicious. We ordered the chile rellenos (wonderful), the shrimp tacquitos (very good), and the taco salad (standard). A bit pricey, but convenient.

Awful. Go somewhere else. The service was great, but the food was terrible. They dont seem to know what Mexican food is supposed to be. No cilantro. Really? This is not just my opinion, my whole table shared the sentiment. And we all felt sick after we ate.

Iam from México, not even my grandma makes such delicious chile rellenos, the salsas they make are amazing, the enchiladas are awesome and the pork is on point. I loved it, now with the new management they have a really great service.

The menu had spicy chicken tacos in a marinate. My son didnt want spicy so I asked for plain chicken tacos and was told it would cost an additional $4 because it would have to be made fresh. Service was slow. Drinks were good.

A 30 minute wait turned into over an hour. Then we finally got seated and it took another hour to finally get our entrees. Then another 30 minutes to finally get our check to get out of there. It was an awful experience.

Brings the wrong order to the table... I tell him its not what I ordered... pats me on the back "dont worry youll like it, best dish on the menu". Walks away... eventually they fixed it but eff me. Food was alright.

Visited twice same day and the waitress (Kara) was friendly and took care of everything at a great pace with great food. Bartender (Becky) made some great margaritas with a great personality and mix quality.

Went there for my wifes birthday. It was wonderful. Riley is the manager and he was kind and available for us on our special occasion. Karyn was our server and she was great as well. The food was wonderful.
