I noticed that most of the excellent reviews were from 10 months to one year ago. I was at this location on April 30, 2013 at about 3 pm - the place was almost empty and the hostess and waitress made me and my husband feel like we were imposing on them. My salad was not fresh (almost warm and "limp") and my husband ordered the Cobb Salad and he found overdone pieces of breakfast sausage (?) mixed in with the bacon. My onion rings (I ordered the chicken strip basket) were good, but there were pieces of burnt onion in the basket - not very appealing. There were two kinds of music playing at the same time and I asked the waitress about it and she said that in addition to the music being played in the dining room (juke box music) the cook was playing "his music" in the kitchen. I asked if she would have the cook turn his music down and, "with attitude" she said she would "ask him". We have been in several Black Bear Diners (from Washington State down to central California and to Reno, Nevada) and have always had excellent food and excellent service - this one needs to be looked at by corporate. It is definitely not up to their standards.

La peor experiencia de mi vida en un restaurante, te dicen que una hora de espera porque somos una familia de 7 pasa la hora y no te pasan tienes que seguir esperando y pasan gente con 4, 3 pero no se ponen a pensar que uno ya tiene más de la hora esperando... jamás en mi vida regresaría a este lugar mediocre!!!!

Came to visit family in Arizona and decided to try this place out! Came during the busy hours which is around 9am to 1pm on a Sunday and still got seated in 30min tops! Food was great it was brought out really fast and was nice and HOT! I ordered the Grizz which I really recommend to everyone the ham is delicious and they have nice thick bacon and big creamy pancakes! Their coffee is really good as well, they give you a nice big Mug! My bro in law and I are Big Guys we got full with the GRIZZ!!! So you have an idea of how much food you get for $11.99 Highly recommend this place!

Dine in Id rate much higher, but trying to get a breakfast take out was a nightmare. Theres 1 register for people to check out at and to order take out from, the girl took 3 peoples check and kept saying Ill get you next, then switched with another girl who asked if I minded that she get the people paying their checks first... so 6 groups paid their bill before I could even order (it would have been 7 but the guy in line to pay was very nice and insisted I order before he paid his bill). The service here was definitely not what it is when you dine in.

Fantastic!! My husband and I went there for dinner on 6/5/16 and were totally impressed by the decor, staff (especially Naomi) and the food!!!! I had the "little less" (smaller portion) tri tip dinner with a baked potato and the best green beans Ive ever had in my 52 years!! He had the dijon mustard crusted salmon and loved it too!! The topper of the meal was the Apple Cinnamon Cream Pie!!! Lots of food and great waitress all for less than $45!! We need one of these diners in the southern Dallas Tx area!!!

Just arrived from Dallas, my brother, sister- in -law and a friend stopped in for a meal. It was a Tuesday around 3ish, wasnt busy. Once sested we waited for 10-15 minutes b4 waitress came to take our order. Half hour later, we spotted our food on the ready to serve area, she (waitress) walked by it, our friend got up from our table and inquired about our food..."oh get it right over." I was disappointed by my chicken fried, dry out. Cant recommend.

Ordered eggs beni wtf im a chef if the is gonna cost 10$ there shouldnt be clumps in the hollandaise raw onion in the potato and holy unpleasant parsley stems all over in my food leaving fibers in my teeth. And if you break a poached egg dont try to put it back on and cover it with sauce wtf is wrong with the chef here my server cathy was defensive and rude about it til she brought the bill out 5 $ off really not even a can i fix your potatoes!

If you havent tried their BBQ Pork Ribs what are you even doing with your life?! Best ribs Ive ever had in my life, easily better than any of the ribs Ive tried at actual "BBQ restaurants". They were incredible. Lots of meat without too much fat, the meat was cooked perfectly juicy and had a great flavor, the meat fell right off the bone and melts in your mouth and is topped a very tasty BBQ sauce. Delicious. Will definitely order again.

Breakfast is my favorite time and Black Bear is the place to go, They have the best pancakes there so fluffy that they just melt in your mouth dont need much syrup and the biscuits are the best sometimes with gravy or just butter and honey....This time I ordered the red potatoes the best ever and the country fried steak so perfectly fried...and the best service and friendly employees.. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone..

For my first time ever eating here it was amazing. I am a breakfast person and if a place does not have a real home farm cooking I will not eat there. I had the grizz and you could not ask for a more real at home farm good cookin meal. The pancakes were perfect and took up the dinner sized plate. The eggs, hash browns, sausage, ham and bacon were so fresh that I will definitely be stopping in to eat the next chance I get

Very bad experience here this morning. Waited 35 minutes asked our waitress how long it would be before our food came out and she said let me go check. She came back and said Im sorry they had your ticket at the end they are starting your order now. We said no thank you will pay for our drinks and leave now she said oh no no please dont. Unfortunately we went ahead and left at that point.

I had high expectations for this place. Great atmosphere. Good coffee and OJ. When our food arrived, mine was cold. Literally cold. The fruit in the fruit cup had turned and had a slimy film. When I sent it back there was no apology. I didnt have time to wait for more food to be cooked so I left hungry. Youd be better off going to Waffle House

I like Black Bear Diner, has a big food quantity. Like the decor and menu. Im just not fond of the pancakes or syrup, too too sweet. Pancakes have little to no taste alone but with the powdered sugar and syrup just too over the top. Ive tried the BLAST sandwich and big burger both were good. Guaranteed to be full and satisfied.
