We happened to find this place entirely by chance as we drove to the back side of the building complex to find parking, the word "mushroom" on the sign caught my eye and we decided it was a must try. The ambiance here is great, indoors is classy but laid back with rat pack/jazz era favorites playing over the speakers and the patio (where we sat) was great as well furnished with stone top tables and plush cushioned seats much nicer than the wrought iron tables and chairs on most restaurant patios. The restaurant had only opened the night before so they were serving a limited food menu (limited to only mushrooms, which didnt bother me at all) but with a full bar menu. The draught beers were great, we tried the vanilla porter and the cheekily named Arrogant Bastard ale, both very flavorful but neither was overpowering. Also good was the specialty martini, but for the price the ale was a hands down winner. The selection of wines and liquors was not overly huge, but consisted of mostly higher end stuff at a fair price. It took a bit longer than expected for our food to be served due to a glitch in the kitchen (only the second night open, after all), which was understandable. The food was worth the wait as it was just delicious, the antipasto button mushrooms were the star but the portobello cap with crab and alfredo sauce was wonderful. We were pleasantly surprised when we were told that to apologize for the wait, our meal would be on the house. And even more surprised when the chef himself came out to apologize directly and offer another entre at no cost. In addition, the entire staff was friendly and attentive and made you feel welcome. Our server was particularly nice and made our experience more enjoyable by making us feel as though we had our own personal waiter. This is one of the best finds I have come across, chill enough for a casual meal and nice enough for a night out if you are in the mood. Definitely check it out.

Reservation for a party of 10-15 were made in person 4 weeks prior to our visit. When we got there, they had given the room that we reserved to another party even though verification was given to the person making the reservation. The time was also wrong. Reserved for 12:30, they had us down for 12:45. They put us outside on the patio. With the temperature hitting 100 that day, it was not pleasant. Servers acted like deer in the headlights. We had to get up and get our own water and tea refills. When the servers did finally come out again, we had to ask them for ice. Took forever for them to take our orders. Took forever for them to bring us our bills. During all this time, the servers were observed standing around a table on the inside just talking. Our checks were taken and after waiting about 15 minutes, we all finally got up and went inside to ask where our change/credit cards were. Another employee came over and asked us what was going on, we explained, she went to the back and the server finally came out with our change. She handed me someone elses change and when I told her it wasnt mine, she said, well its the last one. I informed her that I had given her a credit card and asked her where it was. No apology, nothing. She just turned around and went to the back. A manager came out, we told him all the issues we had and he tried to apologize and asked what he could do. We said its a little too late. I finally got my credit card and bill back. One of our friends was told her check was comped. When we asked why ours werent, the manager said something about her bill not getting put in and so he just comped it. He did give us all a gift card for dessert next time, but after the service we got and lack of concern, I doubt if any of us will be going back. The only good thing I can say is the food was good. A bit over-priced, but good.

Called to make reservations for Mothers Day, only time left available was 8:45am. We were seated by 845 and but shortly after being seated the AC kicks on, I asked the waitress twice to please redirect the vent away from me because it was blowing directly into my ear. The rest of the flaps on that specific vent were closed, instead I was the only one feeling that airflow, after she stated that they cant do anything again, another waiter came to refill our drinks, stood blocking the air and made a comment that man thats freezing! I said yeah, do you think maybe you could see if they will redirect that vent he said oh sure not a problem! He then asked the OWNER who was maybe 5 feet away who was soaking rags in a bucket, I was watching him ask hoping hey maybe this is what Ive been hoping for!! Owner said no rudely to the waiter and dismissed him, the waiter then asked over and over determined to help us out and obviously going above and beyond. He comes back after following the owner into the back and states they cant redirect it because of the cooks. WELL if that vent was supposed to be directed towards the cooks you are definitely not calculating things correctly Mr. Owner. Congratulations for making me sick, I knew it would happen and I should have thrown a bigger scene I guess.. I held a menu up blocking as much air as I could most of my meal, the air shouldnt make me feel like I was on a windy Washington beach in January. You can tell the waitresses and waiters hate their lives due to the horrible management from the owner himself. Food was ok but not worth the horrible customer service. Will never return here and will make sure to spread the word of our experience! I had this place come very reccomended but definitely DO NOT reccomend coming to a place where a party of 8 isnt as a priority as a party of 20.

Im sitting here at The Nosh as I type this. I stopped in last week after not having been here for about a year. Last week I met the new owner as I sat at the bar for a Mimosa and just to chill a bit. I ate the green chili burger- and it was BOMB! I love the revised menu and tasteful additions. I ended up have 3 mimosas sitting at the bar and shooting the breeze with the owner and a few ladies that came in for lunch. I decided then that I would be coming back to see if that experience was a fluke. Fortunately for me, it wasnt. Today was actually better. I came in again and sat at the bar. Taylor was bartending, shes chill to talk to and gave some good menu suggestions. I came early and it wasnt too busy. I saw Mike again running the business, but this time there were a few other employees actually handling the service so Mike could focus on being an owner. Its refreshing to see a business with the owner actually involved. Anyways,I had the crab cakes as an app, they were delicious. I wasnt hungry enough to tackle an entree or burger this time so I had a couple meatball sliders. The sliders were awesome as well. I cant speak for the other reviewers. But I can say The Nosh has a cool vibe and a more upscale menu than most restaurants in the area. I love that they serve quality food, prepared well, and they dont gouge on prices. Bottom line: Id recommend this place to anyone. Ill be back for sure. Give it a shot, maybe youll end being a regular here like Im becoming.
