It was OK. I cant give it 5 starts cuz its still not as good as my fav sushi place also in Gilbert but in a pinch like today its still good. I realize its a small place but Id recommend the owners hire some more servers. The poor lady was running around like a chicken with her head cut off so it was taking a little longer to get refills, ordered & sauces. But overall the food was good, and Im pretty picky when it comes to my sushi. We ordered our usual. It came out pretty quick and in the correct order. House salad, miso, gyoza, then the rolls we had were smoked Philly, California, Shrimp Tempura & Las Vegas. The only issue we had was the Las Vegas had tuna in it and when it was fried it got really dry but the rest was good. Again, pretty good. Well be back sometime Im sure. Maybe another time our fav sushi place is closed.

I ordered chicken teriyaki and my friend ordered sushi. After about 15 minutes, my chicken teriyaki came out. About 10 minutes later I was done, but no sushi has been delivered. Several waitresses have stopped to ask us how things are going and tell us it is still cooking. About 20 minutes after I finished, the sushi came out, but the "Dietician sashimi combo" was still cooking. Finally, about 5 minutes after the sushi was delivered, the Dietician was delivered. The order was definitely lost and the staff was unhelpful to get this pushed through. We will not be returning to this place and hope you stay away as well. Its such a great experience when you get to take turns watching each other eat!

Excellent food. Service its great until theyre on either side of their busiest point for dinner then its not so good. If it was a big place then service being effected by level of business would be acceptable to a point. However, this place is very small with only about 11 tables, so quality of service dropping as it does when its busy is not acceptable. With so few tables, theres no reason staffing shouldnt be finely tuned to adjust for business.

Every single person working here is so pleasant and so nice to talk to. My husband and I brought our 2 year old, and three employees came to our table to interact with him. The food was great and the prices were very good. During happy hour we got 2 philly rolls, a las Vegas roll, a kids meal, and a large saki and large beer, and a green tea. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the amazing food and service!!!!

This place is the best sushi in town. We love coming here for date night, or just a night out with friends. They have the freshest salmon in Arizona and their sushi is amazing. The owner, Jen, is so sweet and always makes an effort to chat with all of her customers. You feel like youre part of a family at Yanagi, and you seriously cant beat the food! Give this place a try, you wont regret it!

This locally-owned sushi place is a hidden gem. Literally hidden--its in a strip mall that you cant directly see from the street. Its very clear how much love and dedication is put into this place. The fish is incredibly fresh and flavorful. The rolls are high-quality, none of the filler I generally cant stand at other sushi joints. I love coming here. <3

Very slow service. We were there for 17 minutes. Seated very quickly and then nothing for the next 15. A waitress asked for our drink order. Then nothing, but she brought out 2 other orders in that time. Then the waiter asked for our drink order "No thanks, well leave." I will go to sushi san, about a mile West of here. Better service and prices.

I must say that I am very picky when it comes to sushi and have tried many places here in the valley. Yanagi has such FRESH sashimi and sushi! They have a great selection of asian dishes too - teriyaki, katsu and even kalbi and bulgogi. The service was excellent and the atmosphere great - fun and lively!

I have been visiting Yanagi Sushi regularly since they opened. I dont know how long that is, as time flies, but I love it. It is our favorite local sushi spot. The staff is very friendly and good at what they do. The owner is lovely. More importantly, the food is amazing, and affordable for the good quality!

This place is terrible! Our waitress had a really bad attitude she never smiled once. She was not knowledgeable of the menu or simply didnt want to answer our questions. The food was just okay and for the price just not worth it. Do yourself a favor and save your money and stay away from here!

So gross. I ordered a roll that not only smelled bad, it tasted bad too. The cooks kept using dirty dish rags to wipe their hands and touch more food. They used a toaster oven to "cook" my eel for my roll. Ugh it was so bad. I couldnt even take a full bite.

Horrible service, bad experience. Never gonna come again. The girl gave us a bad service and the owner was demanding a higher tip after we paid the bill (and the tip). Ridiculous! We asked for water without ice but she gave us exactly water with ice.
