DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! READ WHY BELOW!! My husband and I wanted to have dinner here. I went to the bathroom while he put our name in. He texted me telling me a table for two would be 30-35 minutes. As I was walking to meet him , a gentleman walked up and was told he could be sat right away for a table for two. The major difference to the hostess ? My husband is pacific island. The gentleman was white. It gets better, I am pale redhead and I asked how long for a table for two? I am dressed formal also. She looks at me and tells me 5-10 minutes. Then as I was leaving , an African American gentleman walked in and ask "hey how long for one of those tables outside? For two", the hostess reply "For you 30-35 minutes". I have attached a photo of all the empty tables that were to good for someone of color to sit at. It shouldnt matter what we were wearing, this restaurant doesnt have a dress code. It shouldnt matter what color our skin is as our money spends as well as someone else. I encourage no one to spend their money here.

This place is overpriced and the food is not good at all. To serve food that tastes like it came packaged and out of cans is bad. The so called Spanish rice had to have been Rice-A-Roni. The fajitas I had were really bland, plate was not even sizzling when they brought them out like a normal traditional fajita plate should be. The tortillas served with the fajitas, Mission tortillas for sure and cold. My girlfriend had the enchiladas and they tried to cover them with what they think is maybe a chipotle sauce with ground beef, ya it tasted like chili. Its hard for me to eat Mexican food at a restaurant as it is anyways since I grew up eating homemade Mexican food my whole life but this wasnt even close. To charge people $20 for a plate of this food is embarrassing. To make it worse, to be a Cantina and have no appropriate decor is just bad. This place is trying to hard to be modern and the food needs a complete overhaul. Save your money and go to Morenos where the food is so much better for half the price.

Im surprised at the reviews I see here but am guessing some of the bad reviews are either not accurate or isolated experiences. Ive been coming to this place almost since it opened and have eaten here several dozen times now and I dont remember ever having a bad experience nor do I remember the food being anything but tasty! I usually get Tacos Al Carbon (with steak) which is about as good as it gets if you ask me (tender meat, amazing taste) but have tried a few items and theyre always been good. Went hear last night (12/2012) after being away for months and it was great again. I say you give it a try before being turned off by the reviews you see here, this place is worth it for sure. Its not cheap, thats a fair assessment of the place but if you compare the quality/taste to the price its right on par. PS - This place has the 2nd best guac on the planet, try it!

I am extremely pleased with Cantina Laredo at the San Tan Mall. I organized our company Christmas Party 20+ there and the staff (Teresa) - my go to girl are amazing. They accommodated group size, presents, last minute changes and pretty much just went with whatever we needed... I had such an great experience there, that when I decided to plan a last minute, impromptu, baby shower for my best friend, I again chose Cantina Laredo...Just as before the customer service, the staff, (Teresa) were awesome...Accommodations were made for our group size, the split checks, the presents, the "SURPRISE" part of the baby shower...the food is great - some say it is overpriced...But I will gladly pay more, because of the excellent staff and atmosphere. - Jamie Bashford

Went there yesterday with my husband and 19month old son and had the worst experience ever. The waitress was very rude because I didnt order a margarita, little she new I was 5 months pregnant. The next event that happened was they brought out the wrong dinner for me. I had to wait and when they eventually brought my meal the plate was not just hot, it was fresh out of the oven or had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long period. I had tacos so I dont understand how I could eat my food and not burn myself?!? The place is over priced and the service is terrible. Hopefully you read this before you go, wish I did!

The freshly prepared Guacamole table-side *really is* wonderful and so is the salsa but the rice and the service both leave a lot to be desired. During one lunch visit the Waitress took everyones order but mine (I had to chase her down to give it to her) and on the next visit they took my order but forgot to fill it. I sat with nothing in front of me for quite a while most everyone else ate although one of the other guests let her salmon get cold because she didnt want to start without me. All things considered, the great salsa and guacamole cant overcome the poor service and bad rice.

Went there 2 nights a go and no one was in the front to seat or greet customers. Waited 10 min for someone to acknowledge us and other customers waiting, My husband had to rudely ask a waiter if theres anyone to help us, Finally the hostess shows up to do her job. We were seated but very irritated after waiting so long to be seated we decided to go elsewhere along with the folks waiting behind us. Never going back and honestly food is over priced. You can get authentic Mexican food for a lot less. Oh yea, its gourmet Mexican food...not!!!

MEH, OK but not great. Our first time there food was not worth the prices. I had the Camarones Escondidos • Grilled chicken breast stuffed with shrimp, topped with sautéed spinach and chipotle-wine sauce. you could tell the food was not really fresh, chicken was dry and the shrimp over cooked. Flavors were ok. My wife had the Enchiladas Veracruz Chicken, spinach and monterey jack enchiladas topped with tomatillo sauce, marinated vegetables, and queso fresco. Kinda Bland. the only positive was their Cinco Ritas. I wont be back.

For 2 people it cost us $42. Chip and salsa were good. Queso dip was good but $8 for maybe 5 oz of dip. Cheese enchiladas were good but the sauce can use some work. Rice and beans are not authentic, may have been prepackaged. Beef tacos were eh, okay. Good service, nice people, clean restaurant. I wouldnt consider this "gourmet dining" as they call it. Happy hour looks like it might be fun. I probably wont be returning though. You can find more authentic mexican food around here at a better price.

My husband and I went to dine at this restaurant, and it was a big surprise for us not necessarily pleasant, the service was "ok", but the food. We are Mexicans with culture enough to say that this is far from a concept that they use in this restaurant, it could be everything else except "fine Mexican cuisine", the food was terrible, even if you are expecting to find at least "good" flavor in an American Mexican restaurant... I would never consider taking any of our guest from Mexico to eat there.
