This is the best mexican food in the valley. The flavors in the dishes are astronomically amazing and will take your taste buds on an amazing journey. The owner is absolutely fanatical about quality, and he is absolutely prideful of what he serves to the public, as well he should be. I think he is jeaded down an amazing road to success and achieving the American dream. They have a second location on Gilbert and Queen Creek now, and I only see them growing even more. I keep going back for more over the years and I swear it just gets better with each visit. Which is beyond me, because every time I visit, I ask myself how could this possibly get any better. Amazing work you guys. Absolutely outstanding. For those of you wondering what I had today. I got the Chili Rellenos with pork and green hatch chili sauce. Flawless, beautiful meal.

I always get food from new Mexican grill but this will for sure be the last time! Went up there today around 10 am and ordered chicken enchiladas. Being a lunch item I asked for chips and salsa which usually come with a meal. Well they didnt have them out and when I asked the owner for some he got real aggressive and waved his finger at me while saying "listen buddy, Let me tell you something! We dont serve chips in the morning and it has been like that for a long time. I gotta keep my costs down." Well I was up there last week for breakfast at 9 in the morning and they had chips out. Its not about the chips really its about the owner being a complete cheap ass and acting like a tool.

We have visited the Gilbert location many times since it has opened. Always consistently great. We were close to the Chandler location and stopped by and the food was terrible!!! Wondered if it was even the same restaurant/owners. We were hoping that things did not change. Was back at the Gilbert location last night and it was the same awesome food as always. Do not go to the Chandler location unless you want tasteless pork and chicken on your frybread. Chips were not fresh. Salsas had heat but no flavor. Everything tasted as if it were out of a can. No more "New Mexico" than Taco Bell. Gilbert = 5 stars. Chander = 0 stars.

Some top tier food at a pretty good price. I have fairly little to complain about here. If your familiar with new Mexican cuisine youll love this, but the restaurant is cramped and the counter service is slow and not overly friendly. But its not enough to keep me away. [Edit:] As of 05/12/2016 this restaurant now gets a full 5 stars. The few complaints I had have mostly been resolved. It still gets crowded but that isnt the restaurants fault. As for counter service, the new staff is fast and friendly. Couple that with the delicious food and youve good yourself a 5 star restaurant!

Delicious food. Some of the best salsa Ive ever had. I crave this place often. There is usually a short line, but the food is delivered to you at your table, and man is it worth the few minute wait. We usually have our food out just by the time weve settled with chips and salsa and drinks... Even during the lunch rush. The staff is friendly, and always takes care of you. I eat here every time Im in the area above other options. Definitely a hidden gem. To wrap it up, all I can say is... Shut up and take my money NM Grill!!! Eat here. You wont regret it.

Ok so its cramped, but thats when you think the place is going to be good. But the counter was short and rude! I wanted to see how the chorizo was, and so i blindly asked for that and the lady aid breakfast stops at 11. (Rudely) So i took a moment and looked at the menu and ordered a Carne asada burrito. Took left than 3 min which was nice but when i went to eat it it was FILLED with guacamole and beans and very little meat. Truly disappointed!! Not sure if i will go back.

I went there after work and asked if I could have a quart of beans and rice the girl behind the cash register said I needed to call in a order. For a quart of beans and rice?? Its not like I was asking for a party platter. Then I asked for three small containers and she asked the cook and he said there was not enough for the customers. If they are running out of food there is a problem! This place has HORRIBLE customer service . They just lost a long time customer!

Food was good, machaca meat had a great flavor. Would have given 5 stars but there were hardly any beans on our nachos. I mentioned it to our server Audra and asked if I could get a side of beans. She said no problem and no need to pay for it. Kitchen staff seemed to give her a hard time over it but she values making the customer happy and made it happen. She was awesome - made sure everyone in the restaurant was happy and had a good experience.

When I first tried this this place my first thought was that it was the best Mexican food in Gilbert for sure. With the New Mexican fusion and the offer of fry bread it definitely takes the cake.Green and red chili is awesome and the pasole on the weekends is a favorite.Staff is friendly and always takes more than enough care of my family and I.Its a must try! :-)

This place has some of the best Mexican food around. My wife says they have the best salsa. I disagree but it is really good. They also have fry bread plates, which are hard to find. The restaurant itself is cozy. Meaning not a lot of room for all the customers but the wait isnt usually to long. The food is definitely worth the wait anyway.

I come here 2 or 3 times a month, and the food is always very good. I am giving 5 stars due to how inexpensive it is, and the friendly service. There are so many Mexican food places that are afraid to have spicy food, this is not one of them. My wife prefers not spicy and they do that as well. Try the frybread, it is awesome....

Um.... YUM! Lived in Las Cruces, NM for years and can say that this was very good New Mexican food! They just opened a location on Gilbert and Queen Creek as well. We ate the Fry Bread (sopapilla compuesta?), Green Chile Enchaladas, Chile Relleno and the kids did Quesedilla and Bean Borrito. All was over the top good.

Without question, the greatest carne asada chimichanga I have every had in my life. So far, there hasnt been a single food item I have ordered here that hasnt blown my taste buds away. Not a large place, so seating is limited. Their only deficiency is the lack of drink options.
