We tried to go here a couple weeks ago and were immediately turned off by the insanely sticky floors. Were seated quickly, and sat at table for over ten minutes before being greeted. Just got up and left. This is usually where I say that Ill never go back somewhere. We decided to give it another chance, and it was a huge mistake. Ordered one large hot sake, and it was anything but sake. Tasted like it was cut with water and then lime juice added. Was also served way too hot, almost boiling. Oh, in those little ugly barrel style shot glasses with the line, instead of sake glasses. Sushi was poorly rolled, the kind where it just falls apart when you try to dip in soy. Soup was bullion cube and hot water. Salad was cheap iceburg lettuce that must be soaking in water in the back. Literally could have drained the water from below the lettuce at bottom of salad bowl. We ended up stopping there before we spent $40 more on entrees, and asked for the check. Front of house staff were all very nice, but I couldnt ever recommend this place to anyone for any reason.

We are regulars here but it seems to be getting worse each time we come sadly. Service is terrible,slow and understaffed all the time. The food portions are inconsistent. Sometimes we get a good portion others we have barely enough to cover our plate. There are only two good chefs that do a good show with a good fun attitude. Even the hostesses lack hospitality and just stand at the station and look at you like they have no clue why you walked in the door. When Ninja opened we were met in the middle by a hostess with a smile and menus in their hand. Really hope that improvements can be made to provide better experience. Also I really dont like the gratuity charged if you have a party of 6 or more. They wont serve your table until the seats are full anyways so why do they charge a forced gratuity for the same bad service. Alot of times tables arent even stocked with silverware. We would love to have our family together for meals here but the extra gratuity charged prevents us from doing so.

The past three experiences I had at Ninja Japanese Restaurant have been horrible. The food has been fine, it is the staff. Customer service seems to the the least of the teenagers at the host station. Twice we called to place a to go order and was told to hold. It sounded like the phone was just placed on the counter and I had the "joy" of listening to staff conversations for 5 minutes. On a separate occasions, I ordered chicken and rice to go and waited in the lobby for over an hour for this simple order. The manager did apologize repeatedly while I stood there but as I started seeing other to go order that were placed after mine leave I started to get extremely annoyed. Even though I enjoy the food at Ninja, I will not be dining there any more due to the staff.

I work 2nd shift and called in order when I got there they said it would be 5 more min before food ready well 5 min was 20 min I asked about my order and they said my order got taken to dining room by mistake when I finally got order and left when I got back to plant picked up bag and soup that I didnt order had spilled in bag and my food fell onto parking lot I called night manager and I told him I wanted owner to call me she never did I had to call her next day I sent her pic of bag and food on ground and she said she would only replace soup ARE u kidding me I didnt order damn soup soup spilled on carpet I will never be back Sorry as hell SO I Dont Recommend this place to anyone Best Japanese Restaurant is on Beltline next to Publix and one in Cullman

I moved to Alabama a year ago, and my first time at this place was FANTASTIC. The employees were kind and respectful and their customer service was on point. Now I come in and you have a group of people at the front desk talking to each other laughing and giggling, no respect what so ever, customer service is HORRIBLE, you have to raise your voice just to catch someones attention, and when you do get their attention they have an attitude towards you. I cant even enjoy the food I order, so I take it to go. The atmosphere in that place now is childish and not professional what so ever.

We unknowingly went during prom night. They were busy, but one person in our party didnt get their food until after everyone was finished eating. The waiter was rude about it, like it was our fault they were busy. We all understood that they were packed, but waiting an hour and someone not getting their food after constant reminders was ridiculous.

I really dont like japanese food, but my wife dragged me here. It actually was a very good experience. The hibatchi style cooking at our table was very entertaining and the food was very good. I only really ate the steak and the rice, but my wife and kids were very happy with the rest as well. We will come back.

AWFUL!!!!! I took my nephew out for his birthday and we waited for over an hour! Then another group cam in and within 20 minutes they got their food with no complications. One of the worker kept apologizing but dont do anything about it. It could have just been our waiter but This is just acceptable.

A nice addition to the food scene in Decatur. Whether you choose the dining room for a quiet meal or the hibachi grill for an entertaining time with a group, Ninja doesnt disappoint. A good selection of menu items from poultry, beef and seafood, theres something for everyones tastes.

My experience was pitiful....I am a vegetarian and I really didnt care for fish, chicken, and beef, that is oozing blood, to be flipped around with the same spatula that was then put into the vegetables with blood on it. Vegetables dont bleed...#sickening #filthy #crosscontamination

Went tonight at around 6 for my sons 2nd birthday & had the greatest service! Think it was the waiters first night but he did absolutely great & our cook was hilarious! Thank you for making my sons birthday a great one! Love this place will definitely be coming back again :D

Had lunch here today and loved it. My waitress was friendly and helpful. Even recommended my new favorite sushi roll! Had the ginger salad (good dressing) and the Dancing Dragon roll. Amazing food, great service and quality was worth what I paid. :) Definitely going back!

My wife and I tried it a few months ago. Now were both addicted to Sushi! Super friendly staff, the Hibachi is fun and delicious, you havent lived until youve been hit in the forehead by a shrimp. Great value, great food. See ya tomorrow and probably the next day.

I come here frequently because its the best option in Decatur. Service is incredibly slow. The past couple of times I almost walked out. As I sit in here now, having waited for 20 minutes with still no sign of the cook, I am about to walk out again.
