Stopped in today for some lunch to go. I was immediately impressed by the decor and friendliness of the staff. They were very busy and my to-go order took about 10 minutes to arrive after ordering. I ordered the beef bento box with fried rice and a crunchy spicy tuna roll. The box included soup, which was great, and a salad. The dressing was a little thin but had good flavor. The beef was perfectly cooked and the accompanying veggies were not overcooked with just the right amount of crunch. The was also a small spring roll and a few pieces of California roll. Both were excellent. The fried rice was a little lackluster, not many veggies or egg, but the flavor was very good. My crunchy spicy tuna roll was outstanding, definitely a highlight. This place is without a doubt on my list of places to visit again. Judging by the bar I sat at while I waited, they have a good selection of beers, wine, Saki and teas. The dining area is warm and inviting and perfect for a date night. Looking forward to a return trip.

I have eaten here at least 20 times and the sushi is EXCELLENT. My particular favorite is the Tuna Amazing. The service is friendly and attentive. Very pleasant dining room and also an outdoor dining area. It is just to the right of the Old Navy store shopping center. 11/2/2016 Update - I still eat here every time I come to work in Birmingham. As of tonight, with my current project, Ive eaten here 11 weeks in a row. The Old Navy store closed a few years ago and a fitness center opened in its place. The sushi is delicious every time. They can accommodate larger groups if needed. I see groups of 6 and 8 sometimes. Come for a nice meal and not "fast food" dining.

We searched for sushi and hibachi restaurants around this area and decided to eat here because of the great reviews. When we pulled up, we were a little skeptical at first because some of the windows were pretty dirty but the inside is very clean, so we decided to give it a try. The staff is very kind and welcoming, however the hibachi was not good at all. The rice seemed old and was not hot, and the chicken was not great either. Shrimp tempura roll was all right but had big old chunky stalks of old lettuce in it. Staff is friendly, but our experience with the food was not good.

I visited this restaurant after craving sushi for lunch and being so hungry. I placed a to go order for their lunch special and was very disappointed at the lack of freshness of the sushi. I called back with my disdain and the manager offered to replace one roll(meal came with two). When I wasnt satisfied with my choices, I was forced to take any ole replacement because they did not do refunds. Though customer service was good, I am very upset at being forced to not only get back half of my order, but not my money back. I will never return again.

Went tonlunch with my daughter, hoping for a quick in and out. Much to my surprise, it took forever for our server to take the order and even longer to get it. Tje soup was not good and the tea is not sweet. The sushi came out over 40 minutes later and when we were done with that the server told us she had forgotten to put in our order...an hour later! They were not even that busy! We had to take our hibachi order with us! To add insult to injury, they offered no sort of compensation. Will not be returning.

Gave this restaurant three stars because i waited 20 mins for my food which was not a problem, but another customer who ordered the same time as me was offered something to drink and i wasnt. Not gonna mention the obvious. Ordered the combination chicken and shrimp and was given a boat load of chicken and 7 (yes 7) shrimp and paid 25 dollars for it and thats including the tip. Treat all your customers the same if you gone offer one, make sure you offer the others! I wont be back.

I must have driven past Okinawa dozens of times before I finally ate here and OH MAN was it awesome. For the price of the food (which is reasonable) you get at least three servings of food. And its good food. Not overly salty, just a great flavor. The veggies in the hibachi dinner are great as well, crisp and not overcooked. Really fast pick up service too. I called in two to-go orders and they were ready in about 10 minutes.

Very disappointed after the reviews. We love Japanese and were very excited to see such a highly rated restaurant so close to our hotel. Wish we had gone anywhere else. Waited an hour for food that was cold and not good. Even had to send food back due to one person in our party being served the shrimp appetizer on top of their meat after explaining during ordering of their allergy. Will not go back and not recommended.

This is a nice place to get sushi in a spot where it never existed, especially to grab some traditional Japanese flavors. I liked Jinsei Sushi in SoHos forward flavors and upscale environment, but it also made me miss this places quality and traditional Japanese food. The habachi menu is also nice for everyone who wants a hot meal. Its open for lunch, also.

My mother and I decided to have a lunch date and chose this restaurant to try out. Im currently still here and have been for an hour waiting on our main dish. The waitress tells us after literally 60 minutes she forgot to put our order in and it will be 10 more minutes. Miso soup was not the greatest nor was the salad, however sushi was fresh and good.

I was very surprised and pleased with the quality of food at this place. Prices are a little cheaper than other Japanese steak houses and the quality is higher than most. Service was excellent. It is our new favorite Japanese restaurant and weve tried most of them. The decor is so nice that you may expect prices to be much higher.

Sushi was good but wait staff under serviced my table was also questioned several times about why I was still there and each waitress or even the manager was met with the answer Im still waiting on the check. Place is ok but after my experience I wont be going back

Obviously most people care about the sushi, short review is it was great. No one mentions the green tea ice cream though! It was almost like gelato....Id almost just go back for that. It used to be a Greek restaurant do ignore the exterior, interior is much nicer.

The sushi here is amazing; my favorites are the Sky Roll, the Golden Dragon Roll, and the Hot Girl Roll. The Hibachi Dinners/Combos are really good, as well. If youre feeling adventurous, try the Tuna/Salmon Tartar.

Ive been coming here since Feb 20012. Their lunch special cant be beat, and its delicious. Make sure to tip cash for your sushi chef, you never know when they will send you a tasty off-the-menu treat!
