Hi Greg (the owner), I hope you had a better evening than my mother, boyfriend, and I had at your restaurant. We were enjoying our second round of drinks and awaiting dessert after a delicious meal when you rudely interrupted us. You offered no courtesies such as hello or how is your meal?. Instead, you proceeded to tell us that you needed to flip the table so that the restaurant could serve more patrons because your wait staff needs tips to pay rent. When my mother informed you that we were not done our meal, you essentially repeated yourself verbatim. Greg, here are a few things to consider. Firstly, if you are so concerned about your waitstaffs ability to pay rent, how about you pay them a living wage? That way you dont need to harass paying costumers that up until your tactless intervention were enjoying their evening. How long have you worked in the restaurant industry? If I had to guess, Id say less than a day because you have no clue how to speak to costumers. Thats a shame because the food and staff (shoutout to our server Jeff, who rocks) are pretty cool. Since its your first day on the job, I am happy to give you free advice, no tip required. Harassing and guilting customers into giving up a table before their meal is over is not a good idea. I know, I know. Thats intuitive for most people. But occasionally people forget. I hope you dont.

I ordered the Gnocchi and Gorgonzola Cream for myself, but when the food came out I wanted to share the dish with my vegetarian boyfriend. I couldnt recall every ingredient in the dish that was listed on the menu, so I asked the waitress if it was vegetarian. She said she wasnt sure and would ask the chef. She came back within a few minutes and said it was 100% vegetarian. After he ate about half the plate, he saw something in it that didnt seem right. It was panchetta, which is Italian bacon. Either the waitress lied or the chef lied, and I am disgusted that they were willing to feed the dish to someone that doesnt eat meat. I was asking on his behalf. Its not as though they would have needed to remake the dish. I would have just not shared it. Despicable employees.

Horrible place to visit if you plan on staying a while for cocktails and conversation with friends or family. We were informed by the bartender that each patron is allowed only 3 drinks maximum. This is understandable if the customer is loud and obnoxious, however this was far from the case. My fiance owns 4 restaurants in the area, and we have never heard of such nonsense. I was actually considering this location to have a bridal shower, since i have family coming In from out of town, and this location has the convenience of a hotel, however this incident has changed my mind and we will not be returning, nor will we refer any additional business their way.

I was just there today. This may seem petty, but I have one question. Why do you settle for tasteless tomatoes from your supplier? Its the same problem all over the city. Not just eating establishments, but supermarkets and even produce stores. A ripe, slightly chilled, juicy tasty tomato is a simple pleasure that has become a rarity. So I say this with all respect...start to raise a ruckus when they try to unload those tasteless hot house tomatoes on you. Theyre just unacceptable.

The outdoor seating in the courtyard and on the porch, with ceiling fans, is outstanding. Every year I host a large professional group there which is held in their semi private downstairs room. The staff are unbelievably accommodating and flexible as far as hosting us. Wonderful casual atmosphere, good food, and attentive service. Perfect location surrounded by boutiques and cafes in Chestnut Hill. Easy free parking.

What has changed at the Chestnut Hill Grill? I have eaten there for many years. I almost always get the Mussels. Tonight I ordered the Mussels and they were giant sized, tough and sandy. They used to be small, delicate and delicious. I also ordered a house salad. It came with rotten lettuce. What a disappointing meal. Other restaurants in Chestnut Hill beckon.

Omg! I went there for my birthday a day ago and which ever chef was cooking there that night was on point. I had the baby lamb chops and spinach risotto. So good! The baby chops comes in a thin but flavorful brown gravy which is to die for and the risotto is nice and cheesy but not too cheesy. Absolutely delicious.

food is really good. although, ive been coming for years and they really do need to change up their menu, nothing really ever new to eat. service is alright but when its busy the service sucks badly and their servers come and go so theres always is a new person who is pretty clueless

Just went here this past weekend with my family - This place was fantastic! Excellent food with an ambundance of outdoor seating for those perfect days. I would highly recommend this place over and again. The food just melts in your mouth, fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.

If youre looking for a quick lunch after shopping on the Germantown Avenue strip, Chestnut Grill is the place to go. The food is great and the location is perfect. The atmosphere inside is intimate and cozy. I prefer to sit it outside and people watch!

The food was delicious but the service was awful! Madeline must be the worst waitress ever! She forgot to place my order. She hardly ever checked on my niece and I. And she was unapologetic about her poor service.

A great spot for brunch that I enjoy every time I go. Never had bad service, or a meal I disliked. I only gave it 4 stars because I havent tried anything besides brunch yet, but this rating will be updated when I do.
