Five of us went to Ixtapa for the first time on a weekday and were greeted and seated immediately. We received chips and salsa moments after we were seated. The salsa was fresh and tasty but not spicy as some of my family would have wanted. We liked the menu with lots of options. The specials insert did not have prices. Four of us ordered burritos with shredded beef and a few of us had add-ons: tostada and I had the chile relleno. We also ordered the fish tacos. The food came quickly and was good. The burritos were much bigger than we expected, a 16" tortilla I believe. The tostada wasnt eaten right away so the shell got a little soft. The chile relleno was excellent. I enjoyed the shredded beef but some of the others didnt like to have to cut their burrito to eat it. The rice was typical and the beans were ok. If you want them to be spicy you have to request sauce and spicy salsa. The fish tacos were excellent and probably the best of all the dishes. I only gave a very good for food because it was typical fare that we ordered perhaps I will venture into the more complex dishes next time and post a review then. We will definitely be back, gracias amigos!

Have eaten 20-30 times over the years. I have had my last dinner here. I love there green chili pork dishes. The portions have gone down over time. I have eaten there twice in the last year, my green pork plate has gone down in size dramatically( the portion of the green chili pork was no more than 3 tablespoons with two cubes of meat and very little sauce). Most restaurants would have just increase the bean and rice ( the cheapest part of the plate) however even the rice and beans have gone down as well. Its hard to run a restaurant I know for sure, but if your putting out food, put some on the plate. I dont think your customers want an appetizer, they want a meal. Really sorry, I do love there food, but if this keeps going the same way, pretty soon there will just be a plate with a teaspoon of food on it. FYI I am not a big eater, pretty normal, have heard from others the same comments on the portions.

The food here is not as good as it use to be; the tamales use to taste homemade, now they taste like premade frozen; The corn tortillas and tacos shells are really thin and soggy ( tostada); The taco shell was burnt, I had to send it back; The cheese was a garnish size amount; The shredded beef was in large chunks that stuck together and was really chewy; In the past I have gotten ground beef which was better; Salsa was still good.

Dont let the outside of this place fool you. I initially thought it was going to be a dive-type place but when we went in it was a full on restaurant and nice. Good food with lots of vegetarian options. The price was good for the portion sizes and service was pretty quick. Will go again if Im ever in the area again.

We are from California visiting family like we do every year and couldnt wait to come to Ixtapa for my chili rellanos. The food is excellantt !! Everyone is so nice and helpful. We will keep coming here when we visit our family ! We do miss the chip with cream and jam though !! Thank you !!

Food and service here has always been great, with one exception: their salsa they serve with the chips. Its ok but tastes like canned or at least the tomato base for it is canned. Too bad when compared to everything else Ive had there. Friendly staff always, quick service.

Worst Mexican food that I have had since moving to Oregon. Enchilada sauce was vile, I ordered a taco on the side and it was presented in a store bought corn shell. I am only giving 2 stars because the service was quick, and the rice was on par with most places.

Place very clean. Nicely decorated. Food was bland. Hot salsa had no heat to it. Service was lacking in my visit. Water glass sat empty for over 10 minutes and I had to ask for a refill. I will drive to Salem next time.

Grew up here and this has been the place I have always judged others by. Every time we come back to the area we go here. We have very good places where we live now, but Ixtapa has its own flavor. Number 41 is a must.

There is so much cost to operating a restaurant and I belive Ixtapa is cutting to many corners in trying to keep cost down. Service was good, just disappointed in the quality of the food.
