I harbor an affinity for this place because its been around for ages and I used to go here when I first moved to NYC 17 years ago to go to college. I always stop in for a drink and nostalgia when I visit. Things seem to have taken a turn for the ugh, however.. I was in NYC yesterday with two friends and it was raining and windy and just gross, so we went in here. Our intention was to sit down and have as many drinks and munchies as it took to make the weather go away. The first sign things were not going to go our way is that the waitress basically openly mocked my friend. Said friend has a low tolerance, so she ordered a drink and asked for it to be made weak. The waitress sort of laughed in her face and mentioned how they were known for making their drinks overly strong, and it just left a nasty taste in our mouths. Then, the waitress screwed up our drink order and brought our bloody mary to another table and brought us that tables beer. When she realized the mistake, she let them keep the bloody mary for free but didnt let us keep the beer. Then, as we were drinking our first round, it seemed to be taking forever for an order of fries to arrive. Turned out she never put the order in. THEN, after she *did* put the order in, they were brought to the wrong table. ANOTHER wrong table. At which point we decided we would risk the wind and rain to find somewhere else. And we werent even offered ANY compensation off of our bill. Sad to see a place with such good memories go to crap.

Let me start with the good... Its a good place to meet friends as it is near the W4 stop in the village. Now, for the bad: The food isnt good, the service (at least at night time, when I went) is not at all good. Mind you, the waitress had a smile on her face and was joking with us, but she KEPT forgetting to bring us forks or spoons (basic things, right?) and then she told us "because so many people walk out we have to hold one of your cards." Mind you, we were in the dungeon of this place, lodged in a back corner. THEN when we prepared to pay, she decides to inform us that only 2 cards can be used. My friend, who was a server back in the day said "I understand what shes talking about but if we wanted to press her, shed have to take our cards." What in the world? My experience, as you can tell, was bad all the way around, but hey, dont take my word for it. Give it a try yourself. -blasianFMA

I drove by in a cab and saw this place, being from detroit and into the gothic scene I found the appeal very interesting. Now lets start with the bad, they played (VERY LOUD) happy showtunes, rap and some soft rock. We asked the bartender if she could play NIN, Manson, Metallica, something that would fit the appeal of the decor and the people that are in the bar. They response was "No, that music attracts freaks..." Ok then change your bar into a family friendly disney theme that fits your childish thought process. Food was a cross between McDonalds and Wendys mushed together and thrown in a dirty microwave. I did say dirty, since the bathroom and the bar had the same smell, I am unsure on how this place can pass a health inspection. For the money, I would rather walk a few blocks away to another bar, or food cart and stand in the cold.

The service was friendly and the theme was "cute", but I would be VERY aware of EXACTLY how many drink you have!! I went on Super Bowl Sunday to have a few drinks with one other friend and ended up with a miscalculated bill upwards of $350 (FOR TWO PEOPLE)!!!! This is by no means an expensive bar, so when my friend and I saw the bill we were SHOCKED. To make matters worse, the manager was a complete jerk and lied about charging my friends card twice and then charging mine as well. When we called to dispute the charge, they said there was nothing they could do about it. I am pretty sure they were just taking advantage of us because the bar was pretty much empty and I assume they had a daily goal to meet....very disappointed in this establishment.

Without fail, the Slaughtered Lamb is crazy, stupid loud. They play overloud music constantly, and seem to turn it up manually to overpower any actual conversation. Its loud enough that your ears will be ringing when you leave. Its loud enough at times to be physically painful. The music (generic piped in stuff too, not live) is so loud so consistently that I think Im done with this place. Dont go here unless youre OK with extremely loud music constantly playing. The food is mediocre. The tap beer selection is weak and usually running low. The bottle beer selection is average. The cocktail selection is diner/dive bar level.

I was very excited to check this place out, An American Werewolf In London is one of my favorite movies of all time. And the look inside did not disappoint. Although it looks nothing like the film bar on the inside they have done a nice job of creating a horror movie theme meets old English pub. I was a little upset to the see the menu has almost no Brittish pub fare. But what can you do? They had a nice selection of beer and the staff was very friendly. Overall Id say it worth stopping off for a beer and/or you are a fan of the film it takes inspiration from............ And as always beware the full moon

I want to like this place. I like the theme and that they dont blast their music. My main issue was the bartender. My friends and I ordered some drinks and she starts them, brings mine over, then starts texting in front of us. So we remind her of the other drinks. She goes over and finished one, brings it over and starts texting again. It turns out the 3rd drink was poured at the other end of the bar. Why did we have to remind her again about our drinks again? As a youthful adult I understand obsessions with phones but its not acceptable at a job. Id go back if she wasnt there.

When you first walk in you think youve entered a Medieval bar. With the dark wood, natural lighting from the open windows and displays of skeletons and werewolves, it definitely lives up to its name. Between the atmosphere, food and staff; its a great place to get away to if you are into the dark and eery! Only downfall is when you walk further into the bar, it gets a little cramped if there are a lot of people. Favorite part is the rotating woman mannequin with a werewolf clamped on her neck. Really creepy to sit next to!

This was of my favorite places in Greenwich village, but it has declined over the years. They used to have a great menu of English Pub fare, and my favorite was their shepherds pie. Once upon a time they even made their own beer; Full Moon Ale. But upon our last visit I was dismayed to discover that theyve taken pretty much everything good off the menu, and are limited to mediocre burgers, wings, and cheap frozen appetizers. A sad turn.
