Wonderful authentic country French cooking. Gerard, the owner, grew up in a family who was in the restaurant business in France. He aims to deliver a product that is classical country, with light natural sauces, and fresh herbs as opposed to classical French which is much heavier using lots of butter and cream. Every time I eat here - I thoroughly enjoy the experience. The appetizers, entrees and desserts all wonderful. The wine list gives a nice range of choice. We live in the DC area - so we look forward to our visits to NYC and Le Mangeoire. I am still shocked when I get the check and find that such incredible food is available in NYC at a very reasonable price. .

My favorite under-appreciated gem of a restaurant. A french country house, beamed into Manhattan, with eclectic decor and a kitchen that can do just about anything, and do it well enough to keep you coming back to see what theyll be up to next. Foodies cant go wrong if they drop in once a month; Id be a regular if I lived in the area. Great place for a quiet lunch amidst the din of midtown.

My sister hosted a rehearsal dinner here for ~30-35 family and friends. I liked the menu theyd organized, looked tasty, but I thought the food was just so-so. I would have opted for the fish over the coq au vin, and would have totally skipped the tart -- the crust was so hard, I ended up just scooping out the filling.

Cute interiors, decent prices. The salmon eggs benedict was a bit rich, but nicely balanced with the side salad. The complimentary muffins are to die for.
