I love this place and come here often with my family. That said, it pains me to take two stars off because of an incident that took place when I went there on Sunday (6/25) with my family, among whom were my grandparents visiting from Korea. Before I go on to explain what happened, please dont take this review as a reason not to visit this place. I highly recommend the restaurant because their food is excellent (almost as good as my moms cooking, haha) and besides the one rude waitress we had to deal with, the service here is quick, attentive and overall, fantastic. Nothing happened while we were waiting and eating our meal. Its what happened afterwards that ticked my family and I off. We finish our meal and had a good time. My grandfather paid for the meal with the intention of leaving a 25% tip behind AFTER we got our change back (we usually leave 20% no matter where we go, but the service was really good that day). Before the incident, we had a really good experience thanks to the two older waitresses (roughly in their 50s, Im guessing) who tended to our every need. The three stars are for them and the good food. The rude waitress, who brought back our change, was relatively young (Id guess somewhere in her mid to late 30s, or maybe even early 40s) compared to the other two and tied up the front part of her hair in a way that is reminscent of ancient samurai hair. She rudely tossed the change on the table, saying in Korean what is essentially, "Way to leave tip." That was an incredibly and unnecessarily rude way to treat not just a group of people who intended to leave behind tip, but also an elderly man who did nothing to deserve this type of treatment. My dad confronted the woman about her behavior, though of course she would protest despite having my family (a group of 6) and the next table (a group of 4) witness her rude behavior. We ended up leaving 20% instead of 25% and specifically told the manager to not give the rude waitress any part of the tip, that all of the tip had to go the two waitresses who treated us so well. One of the older waitresses came by and apologized on the rude ones behalf even though it wasnt her fault. Two stars taken away because of this one waitress. In no way is it the restaurants and other waitresses fault for having such a crabby employee/coworker. She should fix her attitude or at least leave it at the door if she doesnt want to ruin the experiences of other customers. I hate taking stars away when I leave reviews because I want businesses like this one to succeed. This place specifically is a family favorite because it is the closest it comes to the ox bone soup and cold noodles that my grandmother and mom used to make when we were little. Im a little upset that one rude waitress essentially ruined what wouldve been an otherwise amazing experience with delicious food and otherwise excellent service.

I love trying new food and Im so glad that I gave this place a shot after giving up on Tobang because the line was tooooo long! This is a whole new side of korean cuisine that Ive yet to experience! I really enjoyed it :) This place is definitely good for soups, cold noodles, and stewed short ribs. Their menu is simple and there are only couple of choices which make it easy to choose. They have a number of soup dishes, a couple cold noodle dishes, and two stewed short rib dishes. I highly recommend trying all of them because they were all pretty good! I went here with a group of friends and we were seated within minutes. We decided to share one stewed short rib dish because it was 35 dollars and it was a pretty big portion, one cold noodle dish, and two soups. They give complimentary kimchee and some other pickled vegetables that are pretty good and a pair of scissors to cut up the vegetables into smaller pieces. The Galbi Jim which was the non spicy stewed short ribs were AMAZINGGGG. This dish deserves 5 stars because it was that good. I am in love with it. From now on, I will get this dish every time i go here. The short ribs were so tender and full of flavor, their special house sauce is sooooo tasty! I can understand why this dish was 35 dollars and I would definitely pay up to get this every time I visit! The oxtail soup was okay, it comes tasteless so you need to put your own salt, green onions, etc.. The cold noodles though were pretty good! The noodles had good consistency and the sauce was spicy but not too spicy so that you can taste how good it is! Overall the dishes were pretty big in size so dont over order! The service here was good, and the restaurant was clean. I would love to come back again just so i can get some more short ribs :D

In A Nutshell: *First off, I need to say that the customer-service here is pretty awesome and even if its at capacity, you never wait very long (no matter how far back your name is on the sign-in sheet up front). *Ive came a couple times now and Ive had the cold noodles and the ox-tail soup. *The cold noodles (which I chose to eat during a very hot day), really isnt my favorite Korean dish. The noodles are pretty good (and you get ALOT), but Im just not a real fan of chunks of ice in my soup. *The ox-tail soup has decent presentation, you kind of have to fish for the meat (my bowl had 4 thinly cut pieces). The soup isnt salted, but they provide fresh sea salt you can mix in to your personal taste. Personally, I can make this much, much better at home. Overall, the pricing is typical American Korean prices (i.e. high). The banchan is limited to three types of kimchi (please see my pics) and Im not too crazy about their individual flavors. I give this place 3 1/2 stars.

I L-O-V-E this place. We came here because I was craving Korean food (then again, Im *always* craving Korean food) and we were in South Bay anyway. I havent been to a Korean place specializing in oxbone soup in a long time. It was a nice change from bbq, tofu soup, and the like. Whatever you get there, they give you three plates of kimchi. Theres cucumber, radish, and cabbage kimchi (in order of spicyness). I really liked the radish kimchi, which was the perfect spicy level for me. It was slightly sweet and very flavorful. I got the ox knee bone soup. The broth is pearly white and chock full of tendon. YUM. I added a lot of scallions to my soup and just a dash of salt. It was a lot of food even though I didnt eat too much rice. So much flavor yet not too salt or heavy. Definitely coming back here when I need some comfort food!

With Santa Clara being South Bays Korea Town you have many choices down here to spend your bucks. Do it wisely. At Kunjip, for example. This strip mall joint offers homestyle Korean cuisine - our table happily dug into it. It started with a surprise - only 3 plates of banchan? Every single one was delicious though - especially the NAPA CABBAGE KIMCHI w/ OYSTERS. Moving on to the hot dishes - the OXTAIL BONE SOUP was flavorful and the actual bone pieces added a deep flavor to it. The MAEUN GALBI had super soft beef ribs, nicely marinated and spicy, and came in a sizzling hot pot. Finally, the ice-cold NAENGMYEON provided an interesting change for your tastebuds - having chilled super thin white noodles after the hot pot was a great idea. Fantastic homestyle food. 5 stars!
