t is 6/24/17 and I just read in the Ventura county star that the Souplantation in Camarillo is closed due to an outbreak of a bacterial disease. ...Why does this not surprise me? around three years ago my wife and I went there for dinner. I did not eat much but had a few bowls of meatball soup. On the way home I knew something was wrong and went straight to bed but within a few minutes I was violently throwing up, horrible diariha, fever, chills, etc... I was in bed this way for FOUR DAYS and it took a few weeks to feel better again. I was so concerned I reported it to the Ventura County Health Department and also called the manager at the restaurant to let them know ....To my knowledge nothing was ever done. Over the last few years I have heard of other people getting sick from eating there too ...Needless to say, I will never eat there again ...Sorry Souplantation.

This is the best place to eat. Lunch or Dinner food is always fresh and with different dishes to chose from. Our family (3 little ones, wife and myself) always want to come here to have lunch or dinner on weekends. It gets crowded around lunch time and after. Staff are quick and they are always working around to keep it clean and organized. This is a way better choice than any other buffet serving places around. If someone have had a different experience, is probably because they were expecting a full restaurant service. SOUPLANTATION has almost everything you need from a restaurant (except for a la carte menus)

The service was great. Once I got to the cashier and informed her it was my first time there and she made sure she got me signed up for emails. Also gave me a cookie bag (which were uniquely delish!) with a coupon attached for my next visit. The food looked fresh even though it wasnt crowded. The guys at the soup station where pleasant and informative. Great experience over all. Priced fairly

I love going to this place. It is hard to stop thinking about the lemonade, soft serve cones(I had 3), huge salad selection, soups, pasta, freshly baked bread. Many food items are marked as they are vegan or vegetarian or gluten free. It is an all you can eat venue and it is hard to leave hungry.

Really great place if you are in the need to grub on greens, carbs, and soups. Most of the items are practically the same, but they do seasonal promotions like special soups and salads. Business should still be functioning despite this restaurants parent company filing for bankruptcy.

This place is not on par with other Souplantation that I have been to. It might be understaffed or something, but the dishes are not adequately washed and the food is not set out often enough during peak times. Even as such, the food is decent and the wait times are often short.

Went with my mother in December. Generally large selection. Im vegan, so it helps to have more options. The salad bar worked for me, but the hot food area didnt really have anything I could eat, thus only 4 stars. Otherwise it was clean and staff were courteous and quick.

I Love the food here!!! It all depends the time you go. When i go ( not during the lunch or dinner rush), we find good seats and everything stocked. but they can use a lil fixing. some of the booths seats are starting to rip, and its starting to look outdate.

What was offered was very good. I didnt realize there isnt any chicken, etc. Would have liked to see some bread pudding, yeast rolls or more fruit. I went years ago in San Diego and recall a different experience. Overall, pretty good for a soup and salad bar

Delish! As always. 5 stars for freshness. But bathrooms are always needy. 2 stars for that. No one seems dedicated to maintaining /cleaning/supplying. Must be hard with hundreds of guests, but they should be checked and cleaned hourly.

The customers that come here can be very werid for some reason. Some food are the best here while others can sometimes taste not right. The salad is delicious overall. Having discounts and coupons are the main reason to come here.

Great place for salads, soups, potatoes, pasta and dessert at a reasonable price. Sign up for their email specials and get weekly coupons sent to your in box. I wish they had one in Santa Barbara.

Big selection at the salad bar when you first go thru the line. Then another section of soups, breads, pastas, ice cream and more. Seating was fine and they were helpful to clean up fast.
