Where do I begin? This place was one of the most awful dining experiences I have ever had, and I have even stayed for an entire meal at Hometown Buffet and Disneyland. We walked in and the place smelled like sewage. That smell stayed in the air the entire time. The carpets, seats and tables are all worn and shabby, and grimy. The best thing about the food was the Sushi; the fish was cold, and the rice was fresh. Other food was not so lucky- The Egg rolls tasted like they had used pancake batter, the dumplings were hard on top, and mushy on the bottom. The Orange chicken tasted stale. The Mussels were horrific. They were covered in this hard, orange coating, they identified as "cheese". I saw many other foods that looked just as unappealing from the Chow Mein to smoked sausage (Is that EVEN CHINESE Food?). Sitting through the meal was almost like a punishment; I couldnt wait to leave. And at the end, trying to have dessert, my son said his ice cream tasted weird. So I tasted it... it was rotten milk. Redundant to say so..but I will never go there again. I had fantasies during my visit, about parading the Health Department through that place. An indicator when I first arrived should have been the condemned shopping center that stands behind it, and the near empty Coy Fish tank in the lobby with the ripped Waiting Benches and the inflated price of 11.00 per person! Horrible experience! My intestines are crying.

well idk what these guys ate or how delicate their stomachs are...but to the normal mans eye, this is one of the best buffets you can go too in and around oxnard! you get more food for your buck! better than hometown in my eyes. yeah the service is crappy but what other business isnt? you go there for the food anyways. you got chinesse food, sea food, american food what more can you want!!! its a popular place for the latin race i know this because i go every sunday and every sunday its packed with my fellow mexicans, thats why its still in business. now if you have a weak stomach that once you eat something you get sick then go to olive garden and eat a salad for 30 bucks. if you want to fill your belly up for the whole day for less than 20 bucks...blue star buffet is the place to go..

I have no Idea how Blue Star stays in business, the food is questionable at best. So, you think that they would try to make it up in service. Its a buffet...service requires a smile and an occaional plate pick up or is everything okay. The hostess today was the worst host I have ever seen. She hates being there, but not as much as she dispises the customers. I was going to complain, but to who? It seems like no one cares about this place. On my way out the evil hostess had her head down on her podium and the cashier just scowled at me. Luckily I paid at the table, they make sure to give you the check as early as possible. I left a 78 cent tip. As We headed to our car we noticed a garbage truck in back... still not sure if they were picking up or delivering. I feel ILL!

I was a little worried at first because of the bad reviews on here. But I must say I loved the food. They had a great selection of fruit and salad at the salad bar. They had your most common sushi (California rolls, spicy tuna rolls etc.) they have a small selection for their Korean BBQ style area. They had two types of baked fish, salmon and Talipa, tons of shrimp. all in all I loved the food. It was VERY CLEAN, and the waitress made sure our drinks were always full. Id say if you want to try it out then go. Also all the reviews prior to the end of 2013, just disregard them as they have since changed ownership.

I ate there for dinner tonight and ate my favorite dishes.. as soon as I put it in my mouth I had a serious reaction.. Im highly allergic to peanut oil and msg.. they must of used peanut oil in the chow mein and orange chicken.. I had my allergic reaction.. I asked the waiter if they used peanut oil because I have an allergic reaction-he just look at me like he didnt get what I was saying and told me to get something else.. like he didnt care.. I threw up everything I ate thanks to them.. I told the cashier and same thing..i wont eat there again..EVER!!!

Sucked. They presented the same place as have a grand opening w a different name, and even same decorations (dusty Chinese lanterns), food was bland, flavorless. I tried many different foods to give the place a fair shot and it was just bad. Never was helped by anyone but the young hostess.

Its not the best if the best they need to add more food selection it always been the same food selection since they open. I been to different buffets with variety of different selection to eat... but not to sure now if things has change I havent been there for the last two years.

Great find in Phoenix... Good selection of beer... Try the Dogfish 61. The waitress took the time to guide us to a great Mexican restaurant in Phoenix, Rositas. Try the stuffed hush puppy appetizer sprinkled with blue cheese and bacon crumble... Outstanding!!!

Best buffet you can get in the area. Food - good food for a buffet. If you come here looking for a gourmet meal, youre not thinking straight. The service - they do their job, cleaning up, refilling, and picking up the plates. Good price for good buffet food.

Always friendly staff. A nice selection of Chinese favorites. They have some sushi and self serve ice cream as well. Lots of shrimp dishes, rice, soups, fresh fruit, crab legs, clams, steamed fish. In short, go in hungry come out full and satisfied.

Nice buffet! Lots of choices and I especially recommend two things - their Pineapple shrimp (yum!) and the Mongolian BBQ (you pick it and they make it fresh) - start with the Mongolian BBQ and then go get yourself some appetizers while they cook it.

Waiter was attentive. Food is okay but can be improved. The hot food was cold. Steaks tips were too hard to chew. The teppanyaki was good. It is your regular buffet. Ice cream and the almond cookies were very good.
