The service here is never polite and last night was the final straw. At closing time they started blasting the music instead of simply telling everyone that it was closing. A worker actually got in my face and told me to get out. As a student who lives nearby, I go there several times a week and cant begin to guess how much money Ive spent there since it opened. Not to mention, the food is ridiculously over-priced considering theyre simply heat it up (you cant make any changes to food orders). Ive been going here because of the walking convenience, but the horrible customer service is finally enough, and they have lost my business.

I dont know what some of these people are talking about. I might be partial because my friends dads own the place but all their drinks are AMAZING and their food is sooooo good and yummy! Also since we live around the corner we go their every week and the staff knows us there and always are nice and we always talk until they close and they stay after they close and we talk more. Dont go to any other coffee shop in mke only go to alterra!!

Pros: Staff are friendly, mushroom bisque and peanut butter bars are amazing, coffee is good, and music tends to be good. Good space to sit down and get work done. Plenty of outlets and good atmosphere. Cons: Building is made of some type of steel-lead hybrid apparently, because cell phone signals are nonexistent inside. Mushroom Bisque isnt on menu enough. Have to re-connect to the internet like every 30 minutes.

Aside from the coffee and treats being very good, the thing that makes every Colectivo location really special is the people who work there. They manage to find some of the very best Baristas and counter staff Ive met anywhere, and its always such a pleasure to go there because of those awesome people :) If you work there and youre reading this, consider this a personal thank you. You rock.

This particular Colectivo is my home away from home, so to speak (Im there almost daily). Of all the ones Ive been to, they have the friendliest staff (contrary to what another writer posted, Ive never witnessed any rudeness in the years Ive been going there). I also really like their coffee. Blue Heeler is my personal Colectivo favorite! I just love this place.

Waited a half hour for a turkey club sandwich! Lunch break over and didnt even eat. The guy behind me said "this is pathetic". I agree. The Bayview and Tosa location way better and faster. There were 3 girls who were suppose to be making food but instead were joking with one another. I will still visit collectivo, but definitely not this one.

Great coffee drinks. Place and customers there remind me of my 15 years living in Portland Oregon. Very liberal looking types which is not me but I am accustom to it from living in the "weird" city for all those years. The coffee is great and the place has a buzz to it. Employees are friendly and know what they are doing.

The lattes are nasty, they taste burned and it takes them FOREVER to make something. I like the atmosphere inside and always look forward to going there and getting some work done in the mornings before work, but the WiFi literally never ever works. Its so slow and never loads. Go to the starbucks down the street.

I went in for a "big cookie" as I was standing in line saw at least 10 little flies in the pastry cabinet . Waited for my turn, told the cashier I came for a cookie but changed my mind after seeing the flies on them. She said " I know theyre terrible arent they".. Will never be back!

This location is just okay. I like the energy and the atmosphere inside. However, the last few times I have been here, there have been coffee grounds in my coffee, very unpleasant. First time it happened, I thought it was a fluke, but then it happened again, and then again.

Good coffee, 7/10 bakery, but the decor and environment are the key to a great coffee shop. No gimmicks, just a high quality coffee shop. Its a great place to hang out and get some work done, meet a new business contact, or just stop in for a reliable coffee.

A cool, lively atmosphere, friendly barristas, good coffee, and good food. I will say that it seems to take a bit to get espresso drinks when its busy, but thats kindof to be expected. This is definitely my favorite coffee shop in Shorewood.

A big fan of Milwaukees local coffee roasters, this Collectivo is within walking distance of many local shops in Shorewood, and the service and selection is fantastic, as is the outdoor seating (weather permitting).
