I completely agree with one of the other reviewers, the atmosphere is great: Jeans and a sweatshirt or a suit, either way you wont feel out of place. The beer is fantastic, some of the finest microbrews youll find on either side of the Mississippi. Snake Hollow IPA is pleasantly Hopped without the notable tannins that come from overheating during the hopping process. The Cave Ale was served at a perfect tempurature, and while it didnt hold its head for very long, it did possess a smooth maltiness and a clean finish that allows your palate to savor the food. Sure a $9 burger should be good, but this was more than good. The burger was cooked perfectly to my request of Medium. Clear juices flowed out after that first bite and the cross section of the patty revealed a light pink center. The outside of my "Good ol Potosi was not seared and crusty as so often happens, it was merely cooked to that perfect grey-brown of ground beef. Atop the burger rested 2 pieces of perfectly crisped bacon, an appropriately sized pile of sauteed mushrooms lending their buttery smooth texture, and a modestly sliced piece of Wisconsin Cheddar cheese fusing with the supple burger and the toppings. No Butter, Mustard, or Ketchup graced the warm, soft Pretzel roll that formed the foundation of this sandwich. One would expect this sandwich to be dry, it was definately not dry, but not so wet to be messy. Our Waitress, Tammy was wonderful; attentive, and charming without being pushy or entitled. She served us quickly efficiently, and didnt ask if everything was "ok" while we had mouths full of food. Not only was this a worthwhile trip, but it must be had again, as I did not have a chance to tour the museum or Brewery.

What a discovery this was. I took my family to the Potosi Brewing Company and museum and enjoyed the day there. We toured both museums, and with paid entrance to the Brewery Museum, received a complementry beer or rootbeer at the restaurant. My children learned about Prohibition and Advertising as well as about many now closed wisconsin breweries. After the tour, we enjoyed a first class lunch in the restaurant. The Sweet Potato soup is outstanding. All the food was served with excellent presentation and had a quality of taste you would not expect to find in a small rural community such as Potosi. In speaking with the owner (who took the time to point out things to our family in the museum) we learned that they have two full time chefs on staff to ensure food quality. yes, there are no 16 yr olds flopping burgers here. The wait staff were courteous and were also a wealth of information regarding other area sites to see. I sampled 3 of the 4 beers brewed there and enjoyed each for the qualities advertised. Probably the best microbrewery beer I have ever had! I highly recommend this destination for a family outing.

Neat experience all around! After driving into this beautiful part of Wisconsin we started things off with lunch at the Brewery Restaurant. A guided tour of the facility cost $12 which includes a Potosi Beer glass, and a free tap beer. So we redeemed the free beer with lunch. (Cheers to the Steamboat Shandy and Wee Stein Wit!) The servers were alright, friendly, but I felt like we waited awhile as many of them stood around and looked pretty. The Reuben sandwich was terrific as well as the Cajun pub fries. Our tour guide was a Potosi native and Potosi Brewing company and a board member. Quite informative tour of the old buildings as well as the new facility built just down the road. In the tasting room, we felt like he was just giving the beer away! My wife and I sampled probably 8-9 different taps, and then were given a full cup of whichever one we liked the most for the rest of the tour! Great place, Great beer, and all profits to charity!

My family and I were vacationing in Potosi, WI. for the weekend. We planned on dining at the restaurant on Sat. for my 57th birthday, reservations were made for 7:30. We arrived at 7:15 and were seated around 7:40. Our waitress did not greet us for about 10 minutes. Drinks took another 15. We ordered our food , no food besides very weak appetizers for 90 minutes . We finally asked for our food to go because we had children who were getting tired. We waited another 20 minutes, when we got back to the cabin , they forgot an order. Without a doubt the worst managed restaurant I have ever experienced. Skip the restaurant, it would be worth the trip to drive to Dubuque. The restaurant and bar manager should be fired. Thanks for a memorable birthday Potosi Brewery.

What a great walk through brewabilia history! For the price of a beer, you are invited on a leisurely, self-guided tour of the multi-floor original brewery. The collection of historically significant artifacts from Midwestern breweries is incredible. The tap room, restaurant and beer garden is staffed by very knowledgable and friendly folks that are eager to serve you and answer any questions that you may have regarding the history of Potosi Brewery and its beers. The seasonal beers were very good and the barrel-aged brews were among the best that I have sampled in the state. While the restaurant atmosphere and decor was very appealing, the food was only average (hence the four stars), however I will certainly return as I pass through this way again.

The beer is alright. They have a decent variety, but nothing to write home about. The only thing this place has to offer is History. The service is terrible. On our second visit we had family who hadnt tried the beers before. We were told to sit at the bar for drinking (there were 6 of us). There was not enough room at the bar, but there was plenty of room to sit at tables. The place was empty except for the bar being busy. We were told to leave because drinking was only to be done at the bar, not at the tables. Rude. Plain and simple. Bottom line - go to experience what it was like before the Big Name breweries, who brew crap today, took over the market. Enjoy the history museum. Think twice about trying to drink a beer in comfort.

My husband and I stopped by after a long day of traveling on May 29th, 2016 about 6:00p.m.. We found a table outside and we waited and waited for service. There were about 4 girls standing around at the waitress station. Once in awhile they would move around, but they didnt seem to be serving anyone let alone tending to their needs. After about 15 minutes of watching the, I approached one of them and asked if we needed to go in to get a drink. She said I could do that. I asked her if we could be served outdoors. She said yes that she would get someone to come to our table. I watched her ask another girl to find someone, but that never happened. We left shortly after that. So dissapointed.

My wife & I had a delicious lunch. The atmosphere was noisy but festive. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table but it was worth it. The wait staff was friendly and professional for as busy as they were. We enjoyed all the signs on the walls and the bar was a piece of art. We toured the museum and other buildings across the street that offered wine and chocolates, different coffees and wood furniture pieces. Those shops were very interesting too. We bought a bottle of their wine and some chocolate and agreed the afternoon was well spent in a very interesting and picturesque part of Wisconsin.
