Arrived at the heart of the dinner hour on a Saturday night. Bar was crowded with Bachelor Party and Rivercity Pontoon Boat in addition to private party on the upper patio. Several marks against the place in terms of customer service. 1) Hostess wasnt too friendly when my wife and I wanting to sit at a different table than where she put us. We told her that we didnt mind waiting to we proceeded to the bar for drinks while we waited. 2) Both bartenders didnt acknowledge us for at least 5 minutes. Once served, they went back to ignoring us. Had to ask several times for a glass of water. My wifes beer glass went empty (universal sign to ask for another) and again we were ignored to several minutes. I also got up and went to the bar inside to ask for service for a couple sitting next to us that also were being ignored. On a good note, once seated at a table with a view of the Menomonee River, our server was excellent (making suggestions as to how the food is best prepared and what her favorite sides were). My wife ordered the Fish of the Day and I had the Snow Crab Clusters. All I can say is "It was worth the wait!!" After dinner, we retired to one of the chairs in the sand for an after dinner drink. When presented with the bill, I was extremely satisfied with the entire dining experience and told the server that wed be back. Great restaurant in an off the wall location!!

Went there for an early birthday dinner with a group of 5. Atmosphere was a bit awkward since we were the only people there. Host did greet us and was quite friendly. Though our host was our or seems to be host and waiter, he was a bit everywhere. Couldnt really get our drinks down the first time, but didnt want to write it down either. In the middle of ordering, he started laughing out loud and ran away which was a bit unprofessional and made it even more awkward. Definitely wasnt pleasant as new and first time customers trying out the place. Food: food was ok. We mainly went there for oysters specials and wings specials. Oysters: were a bit cracked with shells split everywhere into the oyster meat but overall ok. Still doesnt beat St Pauls Fish Market. Wings were a bit over cooked so it was a little dried to the core. The food was brought out a bit out of order. Where as we eat little by little as they try finish cooking. Where most restaurants dont serve your meals until everything is together rather than bring meal pieces by pieces. Satisfactory: 3 star - a bit unprofessional, awkward, but friendly.

Went here last August with a medium-size work group on a Wednesday afternoon. They "didnt have a waiter" for us (gave us a waiter who said she could take our orders but wouldnt serve us) so we essentially were seated but not served for an hour. Then our order of cheap wings was screwed up--someone didnt get her entire order of 5 wings--and we complained only to have the manager come out and tell us that although he would give us the wings, he knew the kitchen had given us the correct amount. I dont understand how someone could have so much confidence in someone elses counting abilities that he would insult a group of 10 paying customers. It took us hours to get our orders, we were insulted by waiters and management, and every time I hear someone mention the Twisted Fisherman now, I tell them not to go.

I called while in front of the restaurant at 10:20pm. The guy from the kitchen says the kitchen closes at 11:00pm and I said ok. Instantly walked in and the bartender gives me a dirty look and says just so you know the kitchen closed at 10. My wife and I looked at each other confused. We told her we just called and the guy said 11:00pm and she walked away like she was caught in a lie. If you cannot even communicate the hours of your restaurant with the staff, then I wonder if the food would even be worthwhile anyway? So, I called the same number I called out front and the bar phone started ringing and the one in the kitchen. I received another stern look! Then I thought, if I make a fuss what will they do to my food? Back to the car I went thinking I can get better service elsewhere.

I was there a week ago for a Lobster Tuesday special, the reason why I am giving them 1 star is because the crab chowder soup had good flavor. I order the lobster burger special rare and my friend ordered it done medium, this I must say is the worst burger I have ever had. The burger and bun came out to me burnt after I had ordered it rare, the lobster on the burger looked like somebody had swept up a bunch of lobster remnants or floor sweepings and through it all over the plate, it was served with a piece of lettuce and tomato and some carrots that werent done well either....Dont waste your time and money. When you cant even make a burger correctly you dont deserve to be in business in my point of view!

I had dinner with a small group of friends recently. It was my first dining experience at the Twisted Fisherman. Our wait staff was nice and I did like the atmosphere. Im sure it would have been even better if there was live music that night. Unfortunately, the food was below average. I ordered the ribs ($19.95) which came with 2 sides. I have had better ribs at a chain restaurant. The flavors described in the menu turned out to be quite bland and the meat was tough. The cooked carrots were under-cooked and very hard. The cheesy mashed potatoes were a good consistency but lacked any real flavor. We were not in a rush and the restaurant was slow, so I dont know what the excuse was for the quality.

I hate to give local businesses bad ratings but after going here twice I have no choice. 1st and 2nd time was the same experience. There was probably only 6 tables with people in it but service was bad. Food took 40 min to arrive (we ordered 1 entree, 1 appetizer and a soup ). Sides were warm-ish. Mac and cheese and beans has got to be pre-made frozen or something. Fish servings is in the small side and over priced. I dont know why it cost so much for fresh water fish when one of the biggest lake in the world is right next to it. Its not like the restaurant is located on Kansas! If you want a good place to drink, this is the place. If you are looking to eat, sadly this isnt the place.
