Being a Brit living here in Milwaukee for the past 11 years I tried this pub with my American wife about a year ago to see how good the British food was, she tried the fish & chips, enjoyed it to an extent but it was nothing like British fish where you will be served with a piece of fish that will cover a dinner plate leaving no room for the chips. This was just like any other fish fry you would be offered at any restaurant in WI except for the mushy peas, a Northern thing in UK, but even these tasted funny I had the full English breakfast which was ok, the toast was like a paving slab it was so hard, it must have been so stale , the bacon was neither English, nor American, it was unedible, but the rest was ok. Went there today 7-7-13 to try it again & was totally disgusted by the food, I had toad in the hole a traditional Brit dish, the Yorkshire pudding was just a sloppy mess, its supposed to be crispy, the sausages were barely cooked, the gravy is so over seasoned with whatever they put in it that it took away any flavour from the rest of the food & I still have heartburn from it 6 hours later. No wonder the Americans think the Brits dont eat good food. I should get my mum over & show them how to cook British food....Back on the 70s I managed a pub in London with a large Irish community, If I had served them the pint of Guinness I got served here today it would literally been thrown back in my face & that is no joke, the Paddies take their Guinness seriously, the guy serving it had no idea how to pull a pint of Guinness, its an art. Just a bunch of care less kids, wont be back, & if you are American please dont think this is what a Brit pub & food is like, it is way better by far...

I am originally from the UK and live here full time with my wife who is from WI. I have been missing the food from back home a lot! My wife saw a report on Fox6 about this place earlier in the week and when she told me about it I decided we would go there for dinner last night. We had an appetizer of the Scotch Eggs. While they tasted alright, they were a cheap cop out at a high price. Hard boiled eggs wrapped in breadcrumbs with a little bit of sausage link sitting on top. Cmon guys...really? My wife had the English Fish & Chips. Lets just say its nothing like what you get back over the pond. She was very disappointed. I had the Chicken Curry & Chips. The chicken wasnt cooked in the curry but added after. The curry sauce was awesome I will say that. However, the biggest let down for me was the Chips. Im pretty convinced they were just oven fries. Absolutely nothing like the Chips you get back in England. One really pleasant surprise was that they serve my drink at the bar - Snakebite with Black (Ribena blackcurrant cordial). The server was excellent! Well probably go back just so I can get my fix of curry, but the wife said shes just getting a burger next time and well be skipping the appetizers.

Today on this lovely Saturday afternoon my family and I wanted to stop into the Village Pub to grab a bite to eat. It was closed and this group of people directed us to Three Lions saying it would be good and it is "much better" than the Village Pub. When we got there we were able to sit down and the server came over right away. He asked us what we wanted to drink and brought out our drinks. We then took a look at the menu and saw the prices were outrageous. The server took our order and put it in. Not once when our food was being prepared did he come over and ask us if we needed refills or anything. 45 minutes went by and we still did not get our food. My father god the Chicken Sandwich, My brother got a burger, my sister got chicken tenders and i got a grilled cheese. The food took one hour to make and the server "promised" on numerous occasions it would be out in a jiffy. The grilled cheese was average but my dads sandwich looked like it was on a crappy bun with dried chicken. The bill ended up being way too much for such terrible food. Now mate i am a big football fan and want to come here and watch the world cup. My experience was terrible and hopefully improvements are made. THE VILLAGE PUB IS BETTER

Three Lions Pub is definitely one of the best English pubs in the US. While attending university in England, I fell in love with the whole pub scene. You could go to watch sport, hear great music and dine on some really delicious food and drink. Upon my return, I found that ,my weekly trips to the pub had become a big part of my life, so I sought out some English pubs in Milwaukee and beyond to recreate that experience. Sadly, those "English pubs" all failed. A few years ago, a friend of mine suggested I try a new pub in Shorewood called the Three Lions Pub, and I knew I had found what I was looking for! The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend the bangers and mash or the shepherds pie. These two have become great favorites of mine. I also recommend taking in some of the weekly football they show during the Premiership season. They try to show as many games as possible, and even my husband (the lone Hull City fan in the entire city) has never missed a game. If you want a traditional English pub experience; good food, great atmosphere and an amazing time, look no further than the Three Lions!

Love Three Lions. I frequent the place several times a week, and have become friendly with most of the bartending staff. Every time I come in, Im greeted by name, a handshake, and my usual drink order. Ive brought many friends here, and theyve all loved it. Bartenders and waitstaff are friendly and professional. I too work in the restaurant industry, and so believe me when I say that the staff and management here is top notch. They stay open til 2 am every day, which, as a fellow restaurant employee, I love, because I often dont get out of work until after midnight. The food here is excellent, though I tend to stay with the same few items. The Gorgonzola burger is my favorite, the wings with the house sauce are fantastic, and the scotch eggs are outstanding. I know more than one person who is obsessed with the giant pretzel too. Keep up the good work!

You know, Id have given this place 5 stars, right up until I had lunch there last week. Now I have to average out my visits. 5 stars up until last week, then negative something stars for one *really* lousy meal. How a British pub can mess up fish and chips so badly is beyond me. The batter coating was actually chewy. It was hard to cut with my fork. How on earth do you even DO that? Ick. It was just gross. Now prior to that Id never had a bad meal there, so Im really hoping it was a fluke, but that fish was just awful. If the kitchen staff couldnt tell the fish they were serving me was all rubbery like that I question their ability to make anything else right. I have to say, I was REALLY disappointed. This was my favourite pub. Not any more :(
