Went in on a Wednesday for my birthday with full intentions of staying for several hours and eating dinner. Walked into the place at about 4:30pm and noticed only 1 other person sitting in the bar, and the 2 bartenders hiding behind the bar. Sat down with 5 people right in front of the beer taps. After a few minutes, one of the girls finally came to say hi and see what we were looking for. I guess she was counting out the til, or something like that, and was too preoccupied. Whatever, no biggie. She did buy me a shot since it was my birthday, though the cheapest shot on the menu wasnt too impressive (Tullamore Dew). The price was right, though not what I was there for. We went there because I enjoy Irish and Bourbon whiskey. Their website advertises Happy Hour, 7-Days a Week, 3-6pm, with HALF OFF ALL TOP SHELF IRISH AND SCOTCH WHISKIES. It said that when I pulled it up on my phone, and still says that today. Well, apparently that is now only on THURSDAYS, which the waitress informed me while pointing at the new menus on the bar, quite rudely as if I should have known. So much for that 30 Year GLENFIDDICH... normally $42 a 2oz pour. They wouldnt honor it, of course, nor did I expect them to at that point. So we decide to get some beers/drinks. My girlfriend asked to try something first, so she poured a taster and proceeded to walk away to chat with the other bartender, as if no one else wanted anything. 5 Minutes later we had to flag her down to get her to take the rest of our drink orders. They advertise a unique Black/Tan Combo of the month, which I wanted to try... but they didnt have the seasonal needed for the Tan. Charming. Had a bottle of Three Floyds Alpha King, good beer! My buddy ordered a Captain and Coke, took her 3 minutes to realize the bottle was right in front of her... Cmon now... Finally got some beers and started chatting for a bit. We had already determined that we were going elsewhere for dinner at this point. Bartenders standing around, talking about some personal drama in clear view of the entire bar, which was now just the 5 of us. No one wants to hear about that crap! By the time she came back to ask if we were staying for dinner, I could do nothing but roll my eyes and explain that "Im not here for the damn Sheppards Pie...". Check please. Seriously, the place has the right type of atmosphere, selection of drinks (when in stock), and in a decent location. Get your stuff straight! How difficult is it to update the website? How about some half-way enthusiastic or attentive bartenders? Very disappointed, considering how highly people spoke about the place...

This was a favorite place of mine to take dates and family. Unfortunately, last nights experience wasnt pleasant. The service was very slow and they did not tend to our needs in a timely mannor, as they have done in the past. The surrounding tables were just as neglected as ours. As the place emptied out, youd think that the servers attention would be focused more on the customer, that wasnt the case. To top it off, there was a bug in my drink and the manager brushed it off as if it was normal to have a fruit fly in your drink. He took the drink off the bill, but I was, and still am, disgusted. As I left, I didnt feel that I could honestly recommend this place to anybody in good faith. The manager didnt handle the incident in a way that made me feel good as a valued consumer and left me with an impression that he didnt care about a returning customer. Google Irish restaruants and know that there are other Irish joints in the area that provide better service and atmoshpere. Thumbs down.

I am letting anyone that is curious about the catering service that Brocach offers. My son was married the first of June and they had Brocach Catering the wedding reception. The food was outstanding! The kids had chosen an eclectic menu for their event, and Brocach really delivered! My favorite was the kale cole slaw and fish tacos, but I had a little bit of everything that was offered and all of it was delicious! The staff was very clean, neat and professional during the cocktail hour. They were also very efficient keeping buffet line filled with the food. I highly recommend using this caterer, and I look forward to a visit to Milwaukee to enjoy the restaurant! Although I cant say what the cost was, my son is as price minded as I am, I am sure it was fairly priced. I think they got a big bang for their buck! Thank you! I couldnt publish this review without scoring on the decor, so I am placing an excellent, because I am assuming it is!

First time in this establishment will definitely not be the last. The atmosphere was very friendly, the bartender was knowledgeable, courteous, and social, not just to me but others around as well. Their drink specials blew me away; 3-6pm happy hour half price top shelf whiskeys, of which there is no shortage of selection, after 10 pm $3.5 draughts (abbey tripple!!! thats slightly higher than what I pay at the better off liquor stores that even have it!), and good food as im told... havent tried anything yet. I have been looking for a place like this for quite some time, and now Im very glad ive found it!! The place is a little small when the patio isnt open, but the superior drink specials, food, beautiful bar, and service is all too apparent, which is difficult to say in these days with, well, unsavory bars all over. That is to say, a diamond in the rough, without being too cliche

Great spot with a great beer selection. We had some appetizers and some drinks on the upstairs patio. I ordered the giant pretzel ($8) and the chicken tenders ($9). The tenders were very good and seemed homemade, the pretzel wasnt that great compared to other restaurants that offer them twice as big. I had a bloody that was ok but probably wouldnt order it again there. We ended up getting a few flights of beers which were very delicious. Up on the patio they also have a giant soccer pool table. You setup soccer balls on this giant deck/table that you walk on like you would setup a billiards game. Then try to kick the cue ball soccer ball into the others. It was a lot of fun, and harder than it seems. A good change of pace from your normal spot.

We always find ourselves coming back here. We live on the east side and are always looking for new places to eat but last Saturday we were checking around and didnt find anything that appealed to us like this place does. This time we ended up getting the Blackened Shrimp Salad ($14) for my fiance and a Reuben ($11) for myself. The cheese curd artichoke appetizer was good but small for $10. Everything was delicious and the service was and always is great. Their Friday fish fry is always a favorite. Its crispy and served with a interesting coleslaw. They always have a descent selection of beer, I tend to get one of the local Lakefront Brewerys selections. We always leave full and happy :)
