Kickapoo is a great alternative to Colectivo and Stone Creek. The interior design of their space is what first drew me to them -- the coffee shop is open concept, with the bar in the center of the room. Its a minimalistic and modern aesthetic that is really chill. So far, my favorite thing has been the biscuit, which they warm up and serve with a variety of jams, butters, etc. I always get the lemon curd, which is fantastic. The biscuit is the perfect amount of flakiness, too, and isnt chewy at all. Their iced coffee is my jam (strong without being too bitter), but if you stop in, try their iced tea, which is actually carbonated. Its really interesting and definitely has a unique flavor. The only drawback for me is that some of the tables are so small that they can only accommodate a single laptop and nothing else, so you cant really share. And I wish they had more food options, because I cant sit there for too long without thinking of going to Colectivo to get a sandwich or a quiche. Otherwise, Kickapoo is great!

I admit, living in Portland turned me into a coffee snob, but no doubt the baristas at Kickapoo can pull a shot with the best of them! A chat with the marketing director confirmed suspicions; many of the Kickapoo team has experience in the coffee industry. Im so thrilled they have brought their expertise to Wisconsin. The espresso itself has a bright, acid forward flavor. House made flavors are well balanced and not at all overpowering, if thats your thing. Do yourself a favor and get a real espresso drink from Kickapoo coffee.

I had a fantastic experience at this shop. Both individuals I spoke with were both very knowledgeable and passionate. I work in the coffee industry and found that the quality of the single origin espresso I received has rarely been rivaled in the shops Ive visited. The fell of the space was very open, clean, and bright, but surprisingly it didnt feel sterile. I wish I lived in Milwaukee just to visit this shop more.

Great customer service. I wanted a flat white. They were out of espresso. They used a type of bean from their blend. I didnt like it too much and the barista made me another blend and added a shot, all for free and the taste was much better. It is spacious, modern, clean, and not pretentious. Highly, highly recommend.

Super clean and thoughtful design. Ridiculously comfortable stools at the communal table. Friendly, experienced baristas who consistently crush it. I highly recommend a machiato followed by a smoked trout biscuit washed down with the self serve sparkling water. Lots of little details that cause a very comfortable whole.

Tried the ginger time tic tea, a cortado, and a hot chocolate with the New York-style coffee cake. Delicious snack, espresso drink and tea were perfectly smooth and balanced, but the hot chocolate was near tasteless. Friendly service, calm and naturally lit atmosphere, spacious seating. Overall enjoyable experience.

I didnt love the cold brew as it was a bit too acidic for my taste. Giving 5 stars because the home made biscuits with honey butter and fig jam were out of this world! New York style coffee cake was also really good! Not overly sweet. I wish they had more food options.

My husband was gifted a couple bags of Kickapoo beans a few years back and we have loved the coffee ever since. We are so happy they have a shop in the 3rd Ward and it is staple stop in our weekend. The cafe has a great atmosphere, calm and minimalist yet modern.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere, very modern, wonderful and friendly staff. The coffee was delicious as was the tea and I never wanted to leave there. The music is great and the furniture and decor make you feel like youre in a crate & barrel catalogue. Loved it.

This coffee shop lets in so much light that the wealth of greenery basking in the sunshine filled space demands more company. Beautiful space, terrific coffee (see that Americano), and friendly service. The eyes and the taste buds are happy.

Very good quality coffee served in mason jars, self-serve water (regular or club soda), and delicious, fresh bakery goods. I had the ginger cookie and it was delicious. Good ambience, open space, outlets, and wifi provided.

Baristas were nice and patient as my wife and I contemplated the relatively small menu. Minimalist look and feel was neat. Outdoor seating was a nice perk.

The coffee game here is strong, but the secret weapon is the biscuit with butter. Also, plenty of seating and lots of natural light.
