The Bamboo House had no redeeming qualities during my visit for lunch. The buffet was picked through and in the 45 minutes I was there nothing was refreshed. The selection was minimal with only three main dish choices and when they were gone that was it. I tried the egg drop soup and it was cold. I mean not cool and easy to eat........I mean cold as in dangerous and likely to get someone sick cold. To complete the experience, the booth I was seated in was broken. The bench seat was not fastened down, so when I slid out to walk up to the buffet it collapsed allowing me to fall to the floor folding myself up inside the base of the seat. The server did nothing other than pick the bench seat back up and rest it back on the base. She proceeded to tell me "It should be OK now........try it out and see if it works". I was not likely to make the same move twice to allow myself the opportunity to fold up inside the base once again. The best part of the experience was the fortune cookie because it signaled the end of thee experience.

The food has always been really good when my husband would bring it home. The chefs clearly know how to make the food well and the portions are average. HOWEVER, I decided to go there to eat and was HORRIFIED at the dated and dirty conditions! As I sat in the dated booth, the waitress who looks like she has been working there since it opened and is tired of the position, didnt care about touching our food with her bare hands. Then I noticed that the chef was standing at the dirty kitchen door. I saw the chef actually pick his nose as he was taking inventory of the buffet food. Ever since, I have not been back there. I wish they would make the necessary changes to get this place up to a great standard. As mentioned the food to a blind eye was really good.

I dont know what happened. It used to be a great place. I recently went in for a Sunday evening buffet and when I asked for a large ice water with lemon I got a small glass, no lemon and a boatload of bad attitude from the waitress. The sign stated the buffet started at 5:00 and by this time it was 5:15 and there was no food on the buffet line. I walked back and asked the waitress if they were going to have the buffet and she said yes and if I was "that hungry, there was soup already on the buffet" in a very testy snotty voice. I took my coat and purse and left. After over 20 years of patronage, I will never step back inside that restaurant again. Now I know why there was only one other table occupied when I was there.

Awful and a waste. The fried rice was so horrible that I gagged and immediately spit it out. I had my friend try it and she said it was also disgusting. We told the waitress and she didnt bother to do anything to compensate except say "ok I will let the chefs know". Seriously? Then she came around later and said "why didnt you like it, too many vegetables?" I told her no that it was actually bad or tainted or something. She said "Oh" and still didnt do anything. How frustrating. I have a lot more to say about how obnoxious the waitress was and the experience but I am just going to stop here. I will never go to this place again.

Got the Generals Sous chicken to go. Worst ive ever had. Not much flavor. Asked instead of white rice, just charge me extra for Chicken fried rice. Oh we dont do that, you have to get a separate side of it. Yet every other Chinese place Ive been to,they have no problem doing it. So shame on this place for not honoring a customers order. Also got the egg role,it was nothing spectacular. There was hardly any meat and all the fill was veggies. And I know there fried, but when the oil is the main thing you taste, thats not good. Will never go back there again. Worst $12.25 I have ever spent. Panda Express is way better food.

After reading some of the other reviews I guess I can see where people rate this place a little lower than I did. But I have been going here for almost 20 years and the food is consistently very good. Granted there is not a large variety and sometimes you might get two chicken dishes at the same time when only 3 or 4 entrees are offered but I think these shortcomings are made up by the customer service. I have never found pan fried noodles like the ones they make. Sounds weird but thats my favorite thing on the menu!

There is SO much more than chicken on the buffet! As someone who dines there regularly, there are two dishes with chicken, and that is it. I have been going the The Bamboo House since I was a kid with my grandparents. Now I take my kids there, and they love it!! The food is so much better than other Chinese buffets; it seems more authentic, anyway. The Almond Boneless Chicken is incredible, and there is none like it anywhere! Buffet, eat-in, take-out, doesnt matter: Its ALL excellent!

I have been going there for years and the food has been consistently good. I usually order off the menu or get food to go but I dont mind the buffet which is small but tasty. The decor isnt the greatest and the servers can sometimes be cranky but I think it gives the place character. We get good service and great food so no complaints here!

Food is awesome. Orange chicken is addicting but makes you fat...nobody warned me of that!!! Sure the inside decor is honoring the 70s disturbingly accurate but we dont go there to have a romantic dinner. Like I said before we go there to get fat. If you go their for ambiance than youre not gonna have much luck.

Theres a reason theyve been here since the 60s... Food quality is always excellent, friendly staff. Very affordable. You come here for quality, if you are a disgusting pig who prefers quantity, and fill 2 plates at a time at the buffet line, go across the street...

Have been going here for over 30 years. Ya there are times the buffet is not greatest, but the rest of menu is fab Best egg too young in city. Employees are also why we come back, not just the food This is only Chinese restaurant we will go to. just the best

Buffet food was below average in taste and not fresh for the price paid. There is another buffet across the street, much larger with better selection. It might cost a dollar more, but it also includes drinks. Dont make the mistake.
