Where do I begin. We were driving through town on our way back from the Dells, in the mood for some authentic Mexican food. This was far from it. Our server needed help from us to write the order down correctly. When we got our food it was ok. My daughters "flour tortilla with ground beef and cheese taco" had lettuce on it and rice and beans on the plate. I exchanged that plate for what we ordered. I ordered "las Banderas/ the flag" enchilada. It was ok... the cheese with verde sauce was literally shredded cheese in a corn tortilla, not melted. Just shredded cheese in a tortilla. What?! Dinner was ok. Couldve used some Valentinas or been cooked to order but whatever. So when we got the bill I was SHOCKED to see that my half melted frozen mango margarita (in a pint glass) cost us $8.99! We were also charged an extra $1.99 for the mistaken taco with lettuce. The other kids meal was $7.50. That just seems like a lot to me. Needless to say, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone nor will we be back. To those who rated Cinco de Mayo 5⭐.... you need to get out of Mauston.

This is NOT Mexican food. You order tacos and youre told a list of meats you cannot choose. Not only that but you are told that the "meat" comes already pre portioned enough for 3 tacos. (By the way a young man, very nice server told us) where do they do that at?? Assuming its frozen meat. Dont blame the cook, Im sure he just cooks what food he is provided. After having moved to Mauston from Albuquerque New Mexico, I was in search of a good restaurant in the area. Cinco De Mayo has definitely become my favorite eatery in Wisconsin. If you like spicy foods, Id suggest the hot salsa (you have to ask for it). The Carnitas were amazing!!!

The food is authentic. It has both your typical, but also unusual dishes for this type of restaurant. Theres quite a variety. If you order a Margarita, opt for the smallest size as they are larger than youd expect. The atmosphere is OK.

We eat here almost weekly. Great blended margaritas and chips and salsa. The food is wonderful most of the time, but a bit inconsistent. It must depend on whos cooking. Overall, weve been very satifsfied.

Portions were good, but the food was just plain. When they brought our sodas the waitress started coughing. Instead of getting new sodas she left the ones she coughed on.
