Good pizza, great fried chicken. Would love if the chicken was cheaper and the subs were bigger but that would probably cost some quality. I wont have that, they are perfect the way they are quality wise. Once upon a time, I would have said Glass Nickle was 2nd best, but since the other guy is gone, Glass Nickle by default is the best I know! This is however the best place in the city for Chicken Strips, and 2nd best for plain sauceless breaded chicken Drumies. They are also pretty good at imitating sandwiches from other places and make some mighty intimidating pizza! Nothing cheep here, but its all Premium! Bike Friendly, and open late in the summer! Is also the only place I know that hires students that look like hippies without forcing them to take on a corporate image. Cant say I love being served by dreadlocks, but its different, I still tip, and I wont ask a change. There is a blurb about fire arms posted. Dont know if its by management or a customer. But seriously, if youre afraid for your life when you are going to get a pizza... you should probably just make your own pizza, and stay home, Its cheaper and you dont have to fear for your life. Otherwise just have it delivered! Plus this establishment also serves alcohol, and that can go together with fire arms about as well as drinking and driving.

We always have our pizza delivered and its always delicious. This time we thought rather than have the pizza delivered, we would go to the restaurant itself. Love the decorum of the place. The bartender? Not so much. We would have stayed for more drinks (i.e., spent more money) had she even given us a little bit of attention. Instead she was busy with her friend at the bar with her cell phone in hand (cell phones should NEVER be allowed when working in customer service). Im used to and expect bartenders to be friendly, chat with you, or at the very least acknowledge your existence and be attentive. She was cold and unfriendly. In addition, she got our order wrong because she was half listening to us; she was too preoccupied with her friend at the bar. What a disappointment because we just loved the look of the place and had we gotten the attention a customer deserves, would have been regulars and would have brought friends. Instead, we wont be back and wont be ordering a pizza for delivery either.

Great Food, Bad Service. Bust day for a Monday, they were understaffed. Our order took 25 minutes for 2 subs due to a mishap in the kitchen with some of our sandwiches being burnt. Server apologized which helped. Our food was very good once we finally ate. Once we were done eating, we had to find the server to get our bills, I had to go up to the bar and ask for them. Once we got our checks, our 2 separate orders were mixed around. He redid the checks, only for them to have the wrong menu items on each check again. Our experience was having good food, just not enough attention was paid to our table. Servers should not be a server and bartender in the same night, we were left waiting longer than the acceptable amount of time. I wish they were staffed better to not have these inconveniences and confusion happen.

It is 11:50pm and Im starving, just got into the hotel. I thought these people were open and delivered up to 12:30pm, boy, I had an appetite for fried mac/cheese, pizza and onion rings, and tip over $5. I am amazed, after making my selections, then clicking next ... I get a warning "this location is no longer accepting online orders, as it is too close to closing time". Really? Really? So, they are actually only open til about an hour prior to closing if you care to eat. They dont clean up an hour after closing, they start cleaning up an hour prior to closing .... its not about the customer, its about them clocking out on time. I hope you fall by the wayside, now Im stuck on a vending machine you dolts. Order somewhere else, this business has NO business sense.

We stopped in for a large night meal and a drink. Cozy but good use of space in the restaurant area. I was pleasantly surprised at the large local beer tap list. My friends ordered the late night pizza special, 10 bucks for a 14 inch 1 topping. The pizza is one of the best in madison hands down. I ordered the 12 pack of chicken wings with the spices sauce: Franks buffalo sauce. I was disappointed to receive dry breaded wings with sauce on the side instead of to seed after frying. Just as well though because the sauce tasted like pure Franks sauce. The wings were small enough that I was able to help my friends finish their pizza. I am going to stick with 4 stars on the assumption that the chicken wings were an anomaly. Definitely going to give it another try.

Crappy. Good Company, bad location! I have ordered tons of food from the Sun Prairie and Downtown locations, never had a single problem, excellent food. I recently moved putting me in the Atwood store delivery area. I only got half of my food and the rest was mediocre (crunchy nickel nuggets and squishy fries). When I called to let them know I was missing food, the store manager Sophie answered and offered to send me my OLD food (that was still sitting there) when they could. When I pay 10 dollars for a dish of pasta and a little chicken I probably dont want cold food and/or something that has been sitting under a heat lamp in a plastic dish for an hour. Bottom line, this manager cares more about her bottom line, than food quality or customer service.

Glass Nickels quality has been slipping for a while, and it keeps heading down while prices keep going up. Ive been ordering their pizza for delivery for many years, and in the last two or three years Ive been increasingly disappointed. Pizzas sometimes arrive barely cooked despite requesting "well done," an option I started using when the regular option was consistently barely done. The pizzas have been getting heavier on crust and sauce and lighter on cheese, in my opinion. The toppings are consistently good, however. Meats like Italian sausage taste good, and vegetables taste fresh. Growing disappointed, Im not sure where else Ill order pizza, because Glass Nickel still seems like the best of a mediocre lot.

I really wish they had better sandwiches, but I cant get past the slightly stale bread. Overall theyre not bad, just not great. I had bad shrimp there one time, Im sure it was just a fluke, but I cant order it again. The pasta is decent, although the alfredo too salty (and I like my food salty) and the ravioli reminds me of the frozen type. I like the variety of their pizza and its pretty good, but kind of expensive for what you get. For delivery it seems like you flip a coin with the person youll get on the phone, some are really nice, some complete jerks. I like eating there though, the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. I wish theyd kick their food up a notch, Id go there all the time.

My wife and I are in town for a conference and we had heard great reviews about Glass Nickel Pizza from friends. Perfect! I tried to order food for delivery and WOW never again! The guy on the phone was either drunk or stoned. He slurred his words and laughed after every few words. I couldnt understand half of what he was saying then he got a attitude because I asked him to repeat himself. He wanted the number to the hotel, which I provided - then told me it was not the number. Whoever is managing the place should find a new job along with this quality customer-orientated employee. This was a horrible experience! So, I ordered from Dominos.
