Went there last night at 8:30 pm. We were seated, but then the waitress/hostess kind of mumbled something about it having been "a really slow night, and so we were planning to close early". We werent sure what to make of this, other than thinking she must have been suggesting we order to go? But then why did they seat us? Then another person came over and again kind of awkwardly hinted the same - very very slow tonight, we were going to close early. So I finally just asked: "are you saying we should order to go?", which of course by now we were going to do anyway. Weird - Ill be the owner was not there. A very poor first impression. The food we got was quite good (hot there, means HOT - so take note if you are timid), but enjoyment was tempered a bit. Ill go back for lunch sometime soon - I do hope this is not representative of how the business usually operates, because if so they will not last, and really tasty options in the hood are appreciated! Ill come back to revise the star if the next experience warrants.

All my friends know of my search for Madisons best Pad Thai and I was recommended Monsoon Siam. I had the chicken pad Thai and the satay sticks as an appetizer. The chicken was a bit tough and chewy but the seasoning was good. The pad Thai, unfortunately, suffered from the same problem 90% of Midwestern Thai places do - too much reliance on sweet and sour "red sauce" and not even fresh beansprouts, spring/green onions, and peanuts. I make my own pad Thai and I admit I have a bottle of grocery store "pad Thai sauce" in my fridge, too. But Im not a professional restaurant. Please, less Red Sauce - its a cop-out - and more fresh vegetables and peanuts. My brother enjoyed his seafood pad Thai, but he admitted that unlike me, hed never been to Thailand. My search for the best, most authentic Pad Thai continues.

I put in an order for delivery through GrubHub at 7pm on a Saturday, as I had been meaning to try this place. The order went in, but a few minutes later I had a phone call from an unknown number. I answered, but whoever it was hung up. Minutes later, I got a text from GrubHub saying that my order had been canceled. I called a very friendly person at GrubHub to see what was going on, and he said that the restaurant had noted that they left me a voicemail to say they were closing early. If they were the hang-up call, that isnt exactly the same as informing me that they were closing (3 hours early on a Saturday!), and they certainly didnt leave me a voicemail. They did leave me a $5 GrubHub coupon for the inconvenience. I hear their food is good, but Im really disappointed by the service.

Hands down best Thai food in Madison! I live right in between Monsoon and Ha Long (which I love as well but i prefer their vietnamese food.) the CURRY in particular is just dynamite at Monsoon Siam. Ive enjoyed it on multiple occasions both the green and yellow curries. The food quality is consistently high. Lunch menu is very affordable. Meat quality is very good. Pad thai is also super yummy. THe cigar rolls are delish as well and are not overly curry in flavor. If you are sesitive to spicy food; know that even the 1 star packs considerable heat by American standards Please go try! They dont disappoint!

Id never checked out this thai place before, but will definitely now consider it more often when Im in the area. The quality of flavor is right up with Lao Laan Xang down the street which is one of my favorite restaurants in Madison. The pad thai was really tasty, their special is the peanut sauce. Our waitress is one of the friendliest Ive met in a long time, she was patient and let us kind of say what we were thinking and was like "dont worry Ill take care of you *wink*" and made good suggestions, she was fun and really seemed to enjoy her job.

My favorite Thai food restaurant! Went their for homecoming, and for a quick bite. The food is great! They give you great portions, and the prices are great! I love the wide selection. I have dinned their, and I loved it. The staff if very friendly. I have also done take out. I stopped in around 4:45pm, and ordered something for take out. My food was ready in like 10 mins! It was so quick for the amount of food I ordered! I love this place for the quality food and service they provide! I definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant!

I cant say how authentic this place is but the food sure is delicious! Ive been here a few times now and have thoroughly enjoyed ever dish Ive ordered. We usually start with the papaya salad - has a good kick so if you dont like spice, ask for it to be mild. My favorite dish thus far has been the ka pow crispy squid!! Another dish with a really great spicier sauce and the squid not overcooked with a light, crispy breading. Service is usually pretty good but sometimes they can be a little inattentive or slow.

Excellent restaurant. The staff were super friendly and the service was relatively quick. Although I didnt order it, Ive heard that their pad thai is some of the best in Madison. I ordered the squash curry which was delicious and a unique twist on an otherwise unremarkable dish. Theyve also got a good playlist in my opinion. Parking was not a problem even around lunchtime. Not much to complain about this place.

Probably my favorite Thai restaurant in Madison. Their fresh rolls are awesome and their peanut sauce is a must have. Ive never been disappointed by a meal here, and their service has been very reliable and quick, in my experience. Definitely an excellent place to go in the Atwood area. No idea what the people who are giving bad reviews experienced, it sounds like were taking about different restaurants.

This place is so amazing! Monsoon Siam is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Madison. Their food is delicious, authentic, and flavorful. The service is friendly and consistent and I love the menu specials they offer. My favorites are green curry, drunken noodles and all of their from-scratch soups! I am so impressed by their kitchen each time I visit. Keep up the great work!

There are better Thai places all over town (Sala Thai, Ha Long Bay). The Penang curry was oversweet and lacking Thai flavoring. The appetizer soup had NO flavor with a few pieces of over-boiled tofu and vegetables (frozen, I think?) - yuck! If youve never had Thai this might be the place to start, but other than that go to one of the many great places within a mile.

Immediately shot to my top 5 restaurants in Madison, which is no small feat considering how much I love so many other restaurants in this town. Weve been 4 times, each time trying different dishes (6 total), & all have been uniquely delicious. Friendly/quick/attentive service, fresh ingredients, & masterful preparation/presentation. Literally no complaints.

Love their food! The Kao Soi and Massaman Curry are amazing! They are very fast at preparing your food. They are not the best at delivery, however. I have been told several time that the delivery driver had "gone home for the day" when it was within their posted delivery hours. I recommend just ordering pickup or eating in.

I ordered pad thai but got a weird, oily beef dish instead. I called to ask what happened, but they had closed early. The food was mediocre. Their delivery service (Mr. Delivery) was good and the driver picked up the phone when I called her and they gave me a refund, but this is not enough. I dont recommend this place.
