The location of this coffee house is perfect... well in my eyes anyways. It is situated right in the back of the Kenosha harbor. This cafe at first glance from the street may look small, but do not underestimate the space that is included to this coffee house. You have three seating options when you arrive - sitting out front by the street, inside of the coffee house or the back patio facing the harbor. Had I stayed, I would have chosen the patio that way you can watch the peacefulness of the harbor in front of you. When you walk in you notice the menu selections, I got the Caramel Latte Iced Blend and it was absolutely delicious. When I hear "ice blend" I am always concerned of it being overpowered with syrup and sweetness. Luckily this was not the case here at Harbourside, the Ice Blend was done well and wasnt too sweet therefore I got to enjoy it on my way back to Chicago. The barista behind the register and bar was friendly as well, ready to give suggestions if needed too. Cannot wait to go back to Kenosha soon to try a different beverage off of their menu.

Coffee is alright(though Caleo totally blows it out of the water), I really like the location, and employees are friendly; but the lack of Wi-Fi does not make this a frequent destination for me. That sucks, because I really want it to be. As interesting as certain folks reasoning is for no Wi-Fi somehow helping this business , there isnt a lack of seating in this establishment for the "deadbeats" that would "sit and nurse" a cup of coffee; and free Wi-Fi is a pretty easy way to get more business in your shop. Many people go to coffee shops to get work done; and there are three colleges in the surrounding area. The nice thing about having Wi-Fi is that your coffee doesnt even NEED to be decent to draw in business. People are also more likely to shell out for an overpriced ham sandwich if they feel like they are going to be staying for a while. Neglecting this breed of coffee shop patron is a mistake for a small business to make. Please get Wi-Fi.

right when I walked in, I was looking at the menu and a worker snatched it away from me and told me they werent making sandwiches anymore (which I didnt even want) Im not from the area so I was confused. I then asked for a strawberry banana smoothie and they complained about making those 3 smoothies for my friends and I. Why work there if you dont wanna do your job? Finally we settled down in the outside area, my friends propped their feet up on the chair very casually but not being intentionally rude. The manager or someone came out and said these exact words "Do you do this at home?" I understand that its rude to put your feet on the chair but there is a better way to approach us. Also, this worker or manager or even owner, was watching us from the window which is invasion of my privacy. Overall, since I walked in common grounds, I felt unwelcome and I recommend you dont listen to the other reviews because theyre rude. Thanks.

Love the atmosphere in this place. A great view of the lake, and dog friendly, with bowls you can request rfom inside to get water for your pootch. ;-) The drinks are a little on the high end, and I would prefer if they "avoided" powder based drinks (i.e. smoothies dont actually get a real fruit chopped up in it). The chai lattes are good. And the outdoor seating is great. A nice place to meet people. The breakfast sandwitch choices are also nice. Love the rasberry crossaints. Imporvements could include: tidy up the restrooms, and dog friendly patios. Overall a nice place.

Not the most accommodating to vegetarians. I asked if I could substitute meat (included in the sandwich price) on a sandwich for their special bread upgrade (additional $0.75 and the same cost as additional meat or cheese). They would substitute $0.75 meat for $0.75 cheese, but not $0.75 bread). Really? I was glad they had real plates for most of the food, but the styrofoam cups for soup are unnecessary when other dishes already have to be washed.

UPDATE 2015 Crabby servers with RBF, no wifi, and Starbucks prices for grande sized drinks. Really? No WiFI? Now below mediocre falling down to ridiculous Coffee self served out or insulated pump carafes, poor selection of condiments, Styrofoam cups (how non earth friendly!) and disgusting smelling bathrooms. This mediocrity is an example of why Kenoshas harbor cannot attract major investors

Been going there for years and I wouldnt change a thing. I like the idea of a no Wi-Fi because that means that the average coffee shop deadbeat who nurses one cup of coffee for hours on end wont be hanging out there, making room for more paying customers in turn meaning that Harborside Common Grounds will be a viable business for a long time to come.

i go there a lot to do homework and sip coffee. its very quiet and laid back. there is a room in back to read (with their own library to choose from if you like) and board games. drinks are reasonably priced plus sandwiches and pastries. beautiful view of the harbor too. one of my favorite places in town to go.

Great place. I stopped in because a friend had recommended it and I was very glad to have taken their advice. I ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri Cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake Ive ever had. I really recommend this cute little cafe. It has indoor and outdoor seating and has a great view of Lake Michigan.

I cant remember what exactly was on the sandwich when i had it, I know it had turkey, spinach, honey mustard on sour dough, among other things. But it was the best cold cut sandwich I have ever had in my life. And its a nice, quiet retreat to just think or read a book.

Great place to relax with an amazing cup of coffee. They use alterra coffee and brew it properly. Food is a little more than Id like to pay but they know me when I walk in and have my mug sitting on the counter. Id pay any price to get service like this.

The best view in Kenosha. This cozy coffee house is a local staple. For over 13 years they have provided THE place for friends to meet friends and their patio has a killer view of the harbor. Common Grounds is a must stop if you are visiting Kenosha.

Really cute indie coffee house. Nice staff, great chai! And incidentally , I am totally fine with the "no wifi" thing. Coffee houses are supposed to be places to converse or read & just relax. There are plenty of other places with wifi.

When we were there for July 4th weekend a carnival was in full swing. Beautiful and lively location that leads to Kenoshas main street. Youll see lots of families with their dogs and grills BBQing on the shores of Lake Michigan.

A cozy cafe and sandwich shop with indoor/ outdoor seating. Great downtown location overlooking lake Michigan. No wifi, making this a great place to read a book and enjoy some coffee, or to chill and talk with friends.
