We were very disappointed with the whole meal. We ordered the Römerpfanne feast which represented a sampling of many items on their menu for $34. It was like a big, huge plate of slop. The spätzle was rubbery that tasted like Play-doh. The red cabbage was so overpowering with vinegar that we couldnt eat it. There was nothing special about the Mettwurst or the Bratwurst and the pork chop was dry. We expected higher quality. My wife can prepare much better German food than this restaurant. In addition, every beer we tried was flat and had a skunky taste.

We stop in at Winzer Stube for lunch or dinner every chance we get, which is not nearly often enough. Our last meal was a nice lunch - we each had one of the sandwiches and soup. The Ruben was wonderful and everything a Ruben should be. The mushroom soup is the best mushroom soup I have ever had, and the hot pastrami sandwich was also interesting and tasty. Really you cannot go wrong here if you like German food at all, and the apple strudel is amazing as well. Have one of the wide array of fine German beers and wines to go with your meal.

I love this place! Hidden in a basement in downtown Hudson, Winzer Stube is a gem worth discovering! There is a large beer selection and wonderful food. My husband and I often get the Romerpfanne for 2. It is a delicious mixture of different meats and sides, including jagerschnitzel, spatzle, red and white cabbage, wursts and more. It says its for two people... We definitely have enough left over for another meal or two. Highly recommended!

Ive been to Winzer Stube a few times, and really enjoyed it every time. Its below the ground, which is actually pretty traditional for a German place, but probably is a pain for handicap accessibility. I love the spaetzel and the schnitzel. Last time I went, I was dining with my extended family, and some of my relatives got the liver, which they really enjoyed too.

Great food, great service. The food is authentic, and of course, delicious. Nearly everything is house made, and the soups are great. Daily specials are always a good bet, as they are all true German cuisine. Occasionally they host a strolling accordion player, adding to the ambiance of the place. Fantastic for families, and very fun.

Delicious! I went with a coworker who has been to Germany and he said the food was authentic (and delicious). I had the schnitzel with the "gypsy style" sauce--yum! Its small, but that didnt bother me. It was a Monday night, not very crowded, and service was quick and attentive. I would absolutely come again.

Ive been all over this big blue planet, from the Americas to Afghanistan. This is my #2 best food that has ever passed my lips. I loved the red cabbage, but the regular cabbage maybe was authentic but not too desirable for me. With a place like this Id hope they would move to street level.

This establishment is as authentic as the pope is to the Vatican. Marie is the most amazing woman and her family follows suit. Ive lived in Germany for 10 years, so what makes this place so special is the food and the atmosphere makes me feel like I am still in Germany. Thanks Marie!

THE BEST German restaurant in the Twin Cities area (even though its in Hudson, Wisc)and quite possibly one of the best restaurants around. The food is first rate, the prices terrific, the service excellent and the atmosphere cozy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and we go out frequently.

We stopped in to eat at the resturant around 2pm, and there was no one in the place except for a few people drinking at the bar. We waited about a minute and no one came up. We couldnt see an employee in sight and left. Very bad ambiance. Dont think we will try again.

The food was excellent! Warm friendly service! We got there around 8:45 pm and didnt realized they closed at 9 pm until we sat down. They were more than accomodating and we had a beautiful, excellent meal! We will be back again when our travels bring us this way!

Food is yummy, service is hit or miss. Many have worked there for a long time, but sometimes feel too comfortable with the "regular" vibe which makes people feel rushed or unvalued. The decor needs a little updating, but overall it is a great place.

The Winzer Stube is one of the best places for German food in the Twin Cities. The food is delicious and authentic (owners are German.) The staff is really friendly. Atmosphere is pleasant. Nice selection of beer, wine and Scotch.

Their cheese curds are to die for. Other than that, their beer and food is very authentic to real German food. It is my favorite place to go when I miss German food! The Apfel Strudel is also amazing!

We went early on a Friday night so not too busy. Very authentic menu items. Our waitress was great and service was prompt. It was nice finding a place with food like "momma" used to make.

Surprisingly disappointing meal. Out of the special by 6:30. Were promised fresh baked bread twice: never received it. Food was good as always, but not the menu we were expecting.

Great authentic German food and good service. A little pricey, but worth it--we go a few times a year for special occasions. Go on a Saturday and get the sauerbraten special.

Great food. Great hospitality. Great environment. Downside, can be pricey, small dinning room and not handicap accessible. I plan to return often.
