How disappointing. We have been to Reve on Main St at least four times and had a good or great experience. Tonight we invited friends to dinner and visited the new location in the Chestnut building. The parking was great but it went downhill from there. My wife ordered an amaretto sour, but the waitress said they did not have amaretto. My wife changed her drink order to 7&7 and was told they did not have Seagrams whiskey. I ordered a whiskey and coke. $5 for a glass of ice with a splash of whiskey. Artichoke appetizer was good. I recommended the burgers which have been so good in the past. When the waitress set my plate on the table the food slid over and half of the potato chips slid off the plate and onto the table. She said "sorry" but left me to pick the chips off the table and put them back on my plate.( I guess I could have left them on the table for the rest of the meal). THEN, one of our guests took a bite of her burger and there was a screw in the hamburger! She stopped eating and went to find the waitress and give her the screw. The waitress came back to the table and said, "sorry". The folks "in back" were trying to figure out how the screw got in the burger. She asked if my friend was going to continue eating the burger! She said no and asked the waitress to take it away. The waitress said they wouldnt charge us for the burger. No visit from the manager, no offer to buy her or us a drink or dessert or any compensation for a disturbing and disgusting event. I didnt even feel like eating the rest of my food. My wife had the chicken marsala and it was good and the asparagus side was also good. The atmosphere is a little weird too. The layout of the rooms, bar etc is strange. We were in the room with the cubby areas with half walls. Supposed to offer privacy but it really created more of a claustrophobic feeling. If I had been in a different seat, facing out rather than facing toward the wall it probably would have been different. Unfortunately, the experience was so poor we wont be going back.

When we arrived for evening dinner, there was no sign of a waiter or host to seat us. Several tables were still dirty and uncleared. We stood for a while, then seated ourselves, and after waiting for service, I went to the bar to inform them we were there to eat. The owner was at the bar, and continued small talk with a bar patron while ignoring me. That is when I should have left. We got our own silver and menus from the front, and waited again at our table until finally the owner came to help us. The beers were very good, and the appetizer plate was good, but there was not nearly enough bread on the plate for all the cheese and chutneys. etc. We had to ask twice to get more bread. The entrees were mediocre. My companion stated her beet and goat cheese salad was good, but to me it tasted rather bland. My flatbread pizza with italian sausage and goat cheese was extremely bland, with NO seasoning whatever. It needed some herbs and spices, and it also only had ingredients on about half the crust- the outer 3 inches were all just plain dry flatbread, also very bland. The entire time we were there, a large table adjacent to us was littered with the debris from the previous diners and was never cleared, which is inexcusable for the amount of time it would have taken. The owner seemed pompous, overly proud of his establishment and oblivious to the experience of the diners who have to tolerate a littered table next to them for a full hour. We never did see any waitstaff enter our room, except for the owner. My feeling was that he needed a cook who actually tasted the food once in a while, and a professional waitstaff, so that he could devote full time to chatting and trouble shooting. On the positive side, the lounge area with couches and chairs was warm and comfortable looking, and the cheese plate was generally very good, once we were supplied with enough bread. I would recommend it for drinks and appetizers only. Prices were fair, if only the food had been better.

My wife and I ventured to Reve 324 anxious to check out the interesting menu posted online. We went in not realizing that it was not a sit down restaurant - you order from the intriguing menu and then you bring your own beverages and silverware and napkins to your table. The food we ordered was good. We ordered the baked brie appetizer and some pizzas and rounded it out with some excellent wine. As some other reviews stated, the place has great character (decor), but lacks an atmosphere or identity. No music was present the night we were there - live music would be great, any background music would have been great. The prices were indicative of nicer restaurants where you are fully served. We paid about $50 for the food ordered above. The service (taking your order at the counter, then bringing your food out and clearing your dishes) was good and the staff was very friendly. The biggest downer for us was, and this may sound petty, but the crackers that accompanied the baked brie appetizer were Toll House Club Crackers (really - not an exaggeration). Maybe this was intentional, but it didnt work for us. The brie was good, the crackers did not add to the experience. The pizzas we ordered were good - not great but good. I would return here for lunch, but for the prices and ambience, or lack of it, Id recommend other locations in Stillwater, Woodbury or Hudson for dinner out on the weekend.

Waited over an hour and twenty minutes for our food. Waiter did not check in with us or refill drinks attentively. Squash dish was not cooked through and had to be sent back. (Sending a dish back is extremely rare for me) when I spoke to the female manager about our concerns she argued with me to the point where I finally said "OK youre right, this conversation is not going any where". She did mention she wanted to comp a round of drinks but it was right when we were done eating and just wanted to leave. We have 4 bills from our table and 2 drinks in total were comped. Working in the service industry for over a decade, I feel like Im forgiving on long wait times or an order getting mixed up. Things like this happen. Im very flexible and low key about things like this, however the server never kept us informed of the long wait or apologized. The entire experience was incredibly awkward. The manager did not address the situation, but rather gave excuses. Extremly disappointed with the service here and would not recommend! The other food dishes at the table we pretty good. Which is unfortunate that the manager and waiter didnt care about service.

Our meal was excellent, however we were not impressed with the atmosphere. We were there to celebrate valentines weekend, and had reservations. Our table was literally 3 feet from the hostess desk, and about 5 feet inside the front door, very loud, unromantic and extremely cold when the front door opened, and when the side door opened for the band to go on their smoke breaks, very cold. When we asked if there was any other table available, our waiter told us he would check for us, but he never got back to us with an answer. They had a band playing that night (the band was very good), however it was so loud you could hardly hear. Our waiter even made the comment to us about having to yell to hear. You think that would be a "clue" to have the band a little quieter, wouldnt you? I would say if you are looking for a romantic dinner, this is NOT the place to take your date, otherwise if youre out with friends it would be fine.
