I meet my ex at this gas station/hotel/restaurant every other weekend and this particular weekend we were coming back home from out of town and we decided to eat at the restaurant since my fiance and I were actually considering having our wedding reception at this location, in fact we had spoke to the event coordinator and even had some packages we were interested in, anyways. My daughter had ordered a drink but actually couldnt even drink it since her mom showed up early and she had to go. I had to pay for her drink, no big deal only 2 bucks wasted. I ordered a plate of spaghetti and meat balls ($11.00) and my kids some chicken and french fries, and my fiance ordered a patty melt burger and asked it to be well done. I am no chef but i do know how to make a plate of spaghetti and when they brought it over the sauce was very watery and the meatballs were all burned on the bottom, they turned them face down maybe thinking i would never look or something... The noodles were so water logged i could see why the sauce was so watery. I had maybe 3 bites and then set it aside and went and had some more salad since that was included with my meal. My fiances food was not well done, it had alot of pink which i personally dont mind so we didnt complain about that, not that it would of mattered. When i sent my food back the waitress who had been good until this point just asked what the matter was, i explained, and then she said she would let him know. When she came back she just brought the bill with her. I was a little surprised to see the spaghetti still on there since i literally had a few bites so i asked. She said that she cant do anything about it and that since i ordered it i have to pay for it. I said so you wont do anything? She said yea i am sorry that your food wasnt very good but you did order it and have to pay for it. I just nodded my head and then paid my bill. I am glad that i saw this side of the place before i decided to spend the type of money they were asking to host a wedding party, needless to say i will never eat at this place again, nor will i be having my wedding party there. Disappointed.

So, we had nowhere else to stop, and we decided to try out the one short of 30 pines family restaurant. When we entered its doors we were greeted by two very unenthusiastic employees, one with short blonde hair, and another with short salt and pepper hair. We started off our orders by getting some drinks. When they arrived we accidentally spilled out milk, and the s&p lady just looked at it and did nothing. We cleaned up the mess and she thanked us for cleaning it up and didnt apologize for not getting it in the first place. Then there was a table behind us that was seated several minutes after us that got their good ten minutes before us. THEN, they got my mothers order completely wrong and we got the meal for free. We also didnt have any silverware out for us to use when we got out food so we had to find the assistant manager to get us silverware and we could finally eat our food. Now onto the food. I ordered the "deep fried hands...with Sour kraut and beer and mustard". There are a few things wrong with this whole order. First off, the grammar in your menu is terrible and you should probably get somebody to review it again. The commas were in the wrong places, and what I ordered read "Deep fried hand, battered brats". I didnt realize they had legalized cannibalism since I had last eaten. They were quite tasty with the mustard, oh wait, it came with ranch not mustard. The deep fried hand was great, but next time if you could remove the fingernails that would be quite appreciated. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you find joy in bad service, no utensils, and cannibalism.

Great night to spend with my wife and daughter. 29 Pines Has tacos on Tuesday. First we walk in , asked the girl at the check in if there was tacos- she had No idea. she then looked at the Board and said O Ya we have Tacos. We then got seated, Waiter came and asked if we wanted drinks.I ordered 2 Jim beam and Diet cokes in tall glasses, when he brought them they were short glasses and they had reg coke in them- Im a Diabetic and can not have sugar soda. Then when i asked about the tall glasses ( not knowing they were not diet he said thats what they made and thats what you get??? Many wife said dont make waves.so i did not We ordered our food.I had salad bar. My wife asked to the tacos 2- soft 1- hard.- She got 2 hard and 1 soft. My daughter got the soft shell tacos. My wife had asked for extra salsa , the waiter brought 4 things of Cocktail sauce not salsa. it was so hard you could not get it out of the bowl. Both My daughters and wifes tacos were cold - ice cold completely cold not even warm. the potatoes were warm. When we asked about the cold food the waiter said he did not know because he did not eat very much ???? Whats the Hells going on. this was one of the worst places weve eaten . The Managers Need to get things fixed . Very bad meal. The waiter did take care of not making us pay for the bad food. I said i would pay for my salad bar and the drinks even thought they were wrong.

To be upfront, the servers here are fantastic. I also love the atmosphere and how friendly everyone is. That being said, the reason I gave this review 2 stars is that the menus were so out of date and confusing, I had no idea how to order. The server we had constantly had to correct what I ordered and really helped as much as she could. The most important part of a restaurant is their menu. Without that, we could have the nicest servers, the best food, and the most charming environment, and it would mean nothing. You need to update your weekly and weekend menus. Your buffets are out of date and confusing, and ordering off the main menu also causes confusion due to what is and is not offered with certain dishes (in this case not showing that pastas do not include sides and that certain menu items are no longer available).

Its basically the only option for gas in the area ( middle of no where...) Downside - only option for gas in the area - gets congested, busy and seems to be a hang out for police to catch speeders ... yipee... NOT! (I dont speed, nor condone, or encourage speeding) Fairly quick customer service. Tbh(to be honest)- never experienced the lodging/hotel options, but they appear nice. Although I can imagine unless they have upgraded sound proofed walls/ceiling, that the traffic on the surrounding highways is terrible for sleeping? On the other hand, it would be nice to be driving in the middle of nowhere and see lodging, food, and appears to have gaming options (not sure on payouts, but people were utilizing the slots I seen, a few 3-5-maybe, always being played!)
