I go to indian restaurants a lot - usually about once per week for lunches. Baton Rouge has a good selection of Indian Restaurants to choose from: Bay Leaf, Indias, Al-Noor, Curry-N-Kabob...Ive been to all of them, and not one of them is not worth recommending. Each has their own appeal. For a fancy indian dining experience, try Bay Leaf for dinner. Their buffett for lunch is very good as well. For a normal indian dining expeirence, try Indias on Essen or Al-Noor. Indias has slightly better selection, but both are good. But Id say that Curry-N-Kabob has the best, per dollar, indian food buffet in the city. Why? Here are my thoughts: 1. Small restaurant, small selection, friendly staff. However, they make the most of what they have. The Tikaa Masala is delicious, and the goat curry is good too. The other options on the buffet stay the same, but theyre all above average in terms of quality, especially when you get there right when they put them out. 2. Naan is made to order. You sit down, and you can request Garlic, Sesame, or regular naan, all included as part of the buffet price. The bread comes out very hot, and VERY good...hard to imagine better naan anywhere else. This by itself, all other things being equal, would make me come here. 3. Price. At around 9.99, its several dollars cheaper than most of the other buffets I listed above. For that price you get a reasonable selection of food, delicious/fresh naan of more variety than you get with a buffet anywhere else in town, and the feeling of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant (which i happen to prefer). All in all, there are many good options here for indian food dining. It all depends on what youre looking for. Typical cost-effective, delicious lunch buffets: - Curry-N-Kabob Date night or wonderful Sunday Lunch buffet - Bay Leaf Change things up: Indias/Al-Noor.

Amazing food. Great service. What more can you ask for?! We ordered off the menu: 2 orders of the mixed grill (lamb kabab, lamb, shrimp, & chicken), the butter chicken curry, plain naan, and chapati. I dont know tons about Indian/Pakistani food but this was the best indi-paki meal Ive ever had, by far. We were celebrating with my friend who is from Oman (and knows all about this type of cuisine) and she said it was the best food she has had since moving to Baton Rouge. The chef came out to check on us multiple times to make sure everything was good. The interior is quaint with nice furniture, a bar (no alcohol), and only a few tables. Again, service was outstanding. We will go back and see if they follow through with the LSU student discount that the chef referred to.

They charged overpriced for bread, cup of water and food pouch of rice. I ordered a very small portion of foods and still overpriced and foods taste horrible!! Theres no taste on foods. Its bland. No taste!!! The plate look nasty and messy. They come back and showed me with empty plate. Also they charge me overpriced for yogurt! Really!?! Its the worst place I ever eat!! If you dont want to get robbed by overpriced and overcharged on foods then dont go that place!!! I rather to eat jail foods than that restaurant Now, I feel sick with stomach and my head feel light up. I found a roach! I found some hairs on rice and its nasty. They overcharge me for another foods. Theres a mold on bread thats how I got sick now.

From the moment we walked in we were met with some of the most sincere hospitality I have ever experienced. Kahn not only explained everything on the buffet menu but also walked us through their to-go menu, at my request. The hospitality and atmosphere alone would have been enough to earn my instant patronage but the food elevates the experience even further. Everything is not only rich in flavour but there is an unmistakable freshness to everything I tasted. The fish curry was my favourite amongst an exemplary buffet. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Will be back soon and with friends interested in experiencing a truly wonderful dining experience.

The food and attitude of the staff are both phenomenal. With a health-minded philosophy and customer oriented attitude, Curry N Kabab is the place to go for a fantastic Indian/Pakistani meal. I was personally on the fence about this kind of food from trying Bayleaf and Indian Restaurant. They were both okay but when I first tried Curry N Kabab, I knew that I had found the real deal.Although I am not in this category, Curry N Kabab is more than happy to cater to vegan/vegetarians and those with food allergies. They will also let you choose the spice level of each dish. Highly recommended.

We were visiting from Houston and I wish I could bring this restaurant back home with me! The portions were amazing and the food was exceptional! They butter the plain naans and make everything fresh. The owner was there and took care of us but also told us about why he opened the place. He grew tired of seeing processed and hormonal food everywhere and wanted to provide people with clean, healthy, and authentic food. Hes also fired chefs because of their unhygienic cooking habits. The food was halal and delicious Alhumdulillah. And the service was amazing! Definitely 5stars no doubt.

Im a bit sorry I detoured from from trip to try this place. The only reason I stopped was because of positive reviews. Maybe I caught them on an off day. The lamb kebab was dry and crumbly and not very well plated over a bed of lettuce. It looked unappetizing. Which is shame because it was actually very well seasoned. The only thing that seemed fresh was the naan which you have to order separately. The total of 20 dollars seemed a bit much for what I got in terms of portions and quality. Had it not been for the cordial greeting of the server I would have given 2 stars.

Curry n Kabab has become my absolutely favorite Indian restaurant in Baton Rouge. This is a true hole in the wall with the nicest staff you will ever meet. The owner is extremely friendly and personable and eager to please his customers. Although the buffet isnt around anymore, even then the food was always freshly made and did not sit out for hours. They are usually making new deserts or recipes and will offer you samples to try. I havent had any dish I disliked here. Their garlic naan and cream cheese naan isn to die for and my favorite dish is the vindaloo.

Stellar service (young guy who was very familiar with the menu, could make good money at a finer dining place). He was able to ensure us of the many dishes that have no gluten and let us know of the changes we should avoid to avoid gluten. Food seemed extremely authentic, DELICIOUS. Cheaper plates than competitors. Spicy means Indian-spicy which is hotter than Louisiana spicy, beware. I slayed it though cause Im a mega tough spice warrior. I hope they make one in mid-city. I hate taking my money to the burbs but I cant resist with this place.

This place was great. Very small and kind of hole in the wall local feel. Owner was crazy nice and came out to host us himself. We got the plate deal which was a steal and The food is prepared individually so came out fresh and tasted awesome! Im not a veggie fan but the owner described the elaborate steps they take to prepare all the vegan items separate from normal ones which was pretty neat. All in if your looking for a very quiet date or meal and enjoy really hood curry give this place a go. Luckily I dont live far so Ill be back soon myself.
