Went to the Dixie Cafe looking for good Southern Food. On the up side they had free black eyed peas for New Years but the Chicken and Dumplings had no chicken in it but our waitress was kind enough to fish around in the vat of dumplings in the kitchen to find me some chicken. Apple Sauce was good as was the corn bread and fried pickles. The red beans and rice and macaroni and cheese were really bland. The chicken fried steak was mediocre. I would not go back or recommend it to anyone.

Went in for lighting lunch with 4 coworkers. Food was served quickly. However when it was time to pay and the waitress took our debit cards it took her a long time to bring them back. Meanwhile as we are waiting for her to return our debit cards, we see her getting into a lengthy casual conversation with another table. None of this would have been an issue, except this made us all late getting back to work. And we all work less than 5 minutes from the restaurant.

The one time of the year that I eat here is on Thanksgiving Day when the food is truly like home cooking. I would give a 5 star rating if they had real butter, enough jalapeno in the jalapeno cornbread muffins to actually impart some jalapeno flavor, and a leafy green salad instead of iceberg. The waitstaff is very friendly. If only I can remember by the time of next Thanksgiving, I intend to brown bag some real butter and maybe some baby spinach.

Good comfort food. Their Baked sqaush is excellent. Service is predominately good. The all u can eat rolls are a definitive reason to go there! Prices are decent for most items on the menu.

With the restaurant headquarters across the parking lot, one would expect more. I think I was seated at a table without a server. Waited 10 minutes to place a drink order.

Dont waste your time here. My meal was $10 and they brought out maybe $3 worth of food. I left hungry and feeling like Id been ripped off. And the service sucked.

Served my kids green mildewed cheese on their spaghetti. Charged us full price. The rolls were the only good part. The servers didnt know what they were doing.
