DONT GET THE BEEF FAJITA SPECIAL YOULL PROBABLY GET SICK! I used to love El Dorados until they decided to be stingy. I ate there with a couple friends who ordered the same thing and got really sick. I mean flu/food poisoning sick. I called and made a complaint about it and asked for their money back. They promised me two free meals, one for each of them. Today they tried to go cash in those free meals and were told there was never a report made and that our meals were not free. I said well that is not their fault your staff didnt fill out any paperwork I called and made a report and was promised those meals. They refused to acknowledge their mistake and give us what was promised and for that I will no longer be contributing to this business nor promoting it to people who ask where a good place to eat in town is.

My first experience with El Dorado was all right. It was clean, casual, great view, and the staff was okay. My biggest complaint was that the portion sizes were NOT very large (I had the chicken soft tacos). If not for a side of rice I ordered, I would have left hungry. There was hardly any meat on the tacos, and the chicken tacos were runny as the chicken was obviously cooked with tomato as well as peppers and not drained enough. The beef taco I tried was a little better, so I would recommend the beef over the chicken. The rice, though, was excellent! Altogether, Id give it a "C." Not bad, but not wonderful.

The only problem I have with El Dorado is that all the tips go to the owners. The employees make a decent hourly wage but all the tips are given to the owners. So we had to make a choice: * Not eat there ever again (isnt an option) * Only do take-out * Not tip We have decided to only do take-out. When the tourist flood in on a Friday or Saturday night .... It is hard to watch great tips (specifically intended for the wait staff) to go to the owners.

THE BEST RESTAURANT AT ASHLAND The food is authentic, I can say that cus Im Mexican... The price exelent n a lot of food..everybody is so friendly on the restaurant. Also I love the margaritas n they have special of the day of course for less money.. The view is beautiful cus u can see the superior lake..!! The sad parts is We are from Eagan Mn. 5 hours away. :-( well miss u El Dorado...!!!!

Please stop at this Mexican restaurant. We did. And we are very happy. We had the fajita Texas for two and three of us are very happily full from it. The service was excellent. P.S. Please visit the artisan water across the street. P.P.S please dont pollute the water, folks. We shall return on our next road trip through Ashland! - 3 travelers

My family has been going here since they opened. We are delighted to have such a Fabulous rwataurants in town!! We especially Love going there for our Birthdays!! The staff puts a Sambro on you and they sing an authentic Mexican song for you!! I cant say enough things about this Wonderful Restaurant and Staff!!!!

Hands down the best restaurant in town!! The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the price is fair, and the restaurant is clean. I highly recommend eating here! Burrito California, quesadilla Fajita, arroz con pollo are a few excellent choices among others. Keep up the good work fellas!

Authentic Mexican Resturant! I have been to Mexico and this is the best Mexican I have had since having the best food in Mexico! Small space but very good food and great service. Very happy I found this place. I love eating here. Great view of the lake and Wonderful prices.

Went here after seeing how busy it was all the time. But no waiting, we were seated quickly food came out quickly and the staff was right on the ball with everything despite being busy! Great place for a quick Mexican bite and the prices were very reasonable!

Three steps to a happy meal today. 1. Stop reading reviews. 2. Goto El Dorado 3. Order the fajita quesadilla. 4. Feel obligated like my review. Best food Ive had all week. Perfect service. Coke instead of Pepsi though. Almost perfection.

Small town mexican joint... Space is small... bumped into anther customer on my way out... oops. Shared #17 with my wife...added the white cheese dip... Awesome! Made the meal. Tried the Flan... never heard of it before... delicious.

Great flavourful food and fast service. We felt like we were back in Puerto Vallarta. Prices are very reasonable and the view of the lake is gorgeous. We highly recommend this place and plan on returning on our next trip through.

I ordered chicken fajitas and it was great (with a careful note). I would recommend to tell them either to cook the spices longer or use it less so that the smell of spice does not over power the palate.

El Dorado has it all: efficient staff, clean interior, tasty food, and very reasonable prices. Furthermore, every seat has a beautiful view of Lake Superior. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

The chimichanga had a weird flavor and my wifes fajitas were overly salty and didnt come with the usual sides. Was not impressed. We were disappointed because a friend had recommended it.
