I really want to give this place more stars as I had such high standards for the place. But I must be fair in my experience/taste. 3 Stars really isnt a bad thing - it just isnt great. I was recently taken here for a surprise birthday dinner, as Ive always wanted to go here. Many people have raved about the foods and experience here. My experience was nothing short of a good time. The service was top notch and impeccable. The little details of serving from the left and removing from the right. The replacement of your napkin and table being reset EVERY TIME you leave your seat. The personalities of each staff member and the time they take to explain each meal and answer any questions. The extra mile of giving my gf a shawl when they noticed when she was cold. Those made the experience enjoyable - but still not "blow me away" as thats expected from a AAA 5-Diamond restaurant. The food was nothing short of creative and artistic. All herbs were grown right out their own garden, cooked by local chefs and even paired with local wines. To my dismay - it was far from the best foods Ive ever had. Im no connoisseur when it comes to fine dining but I am when it comes to my own pallette. Though just about everything I had was very tasty, I still wasnt blown away. It was good food, not great/amazing food. And for over $250 per person, Id expect nothing less than amazing. My favorite dish was the quail stuffed with duck con feit, delectable and unique but not much more flavorful than other dishes that Ive had of quail. Despite the meals being small portions - I was more than full by the end of the night. We even sprung for a $50 cup of Kopi Luwak at the end of the meal to see what all the hype was. The presentation of the coffee was pretty cool, but I wasnt overly impressed by the hype of the coffee. Tasted like very smooth coffee but not amazing. Im not much of a coffee drinker to begin with so what do I know? Overall - still a great place and a cool experience that I wont forget. I may come back again if I find greater interest in the foods being prepared - but bang for buck - I cant say it was all there. Ive had similar experiences in fine dining in my time but Ive had better prepared meals for a lot less of price. I simply didnt see the value in it all.

The most amazing food of my life. Positively orgasmic! My husband brought me here for my birthday and benefited with MANY husband points. The food was divine, courses nicely spaced, service amazing, decor quaint, elegant and familiar, and the wine served with each course... ooohhh....lets say it got me in trouble. It didnt help that like the water service, my wine cup, while not runneth overing, was never empty. I had to take a 5th course breather and took a little food scrap bucket to feed the pigs to catch my breath. During summer time, the grounds were beautiful. The chef and all staff including sommelier were helpful, solicitous, and almost precognitive of our needs. I never felt a hint of snobbery or snootiness. I felt it was their priority to educate us, but remain in the background while we enjoyed such delights as " The Essence of Corn Soup" and "Heirloom Tomato and Fresh Basil Aspic." We sat in a table slightly off-set because it was a special occasion, but others sat family style. They framed place cards and gave out beautiful parchment menus to take home. As I told my husband, I could eat here once a week. Yet at $400 a couple, I think we might have some issues with our mortgage and the kids college fund. Ah well, maybe next birthday? (Thats a hint, sweetheart) Update: Went again for the Hunters Feast for our anniversary. stayed at the AMAZING lodging next door. Food was mind-blowingly good. Drank too much though and started to spin. Keep track of how often they refill those 7 glasses. :) Thank goodness, this time, the tab was on the companys dime.

This is an exceptional dining experience. The food, the wine, the service, the ambiance, and EVERYTHING about their (your) dinner is unique. It is a true farm to table restaurant. Their Farm...Your Table. But more than that, they have such a unique and talented chef and kitchen staff they are always creating new treats. The bounty that they have in Northwest means they can source from the mountains of Idaho to the fisheries of Canada/Alaska. With Washington and Oregon in between they constantly plate amazing dishes which flat out stun the palate. There is no "BEST" of class when it comes to restaurants of this quality. The Herbfarm, however, should not be missed and should be visited more than once. I have enjoyed many of their themes, and NEVER have had the exact same dish. NEVER. And thats enough capital letters for one review. Check it out. Feed the pigs the first time you go and youll be set for life. Theyll explain that when you get there. Finally, the European common table is a blast as well.

Dude.. Price was $250 and food was just OK. I tried the truffle dinner, it didnt wow me at all. They served raw scallop with truffle salt on top, and that was the worst dish. The chef simply added too much salt to the scallop and ruined the ingredient. Other dish was just average, for the price of $250 per head you are really paying for the atmosphere and the pretentious environment. Theres better places in Seattle like Rovers Chez Shea in terms of food quality and price. Wine was good, however the main character was the food and they didnt impress me. I do not recommend going this place unless you have deep pocket and dont mind spending on just OK food.

We went there Friday the 26th of April 2012...Its Like no other place Ive been to. Its like an adults theme park! Is it expensive? Hell yes, and it should be...I have never seen people so dedicated to their art/work. Its more than a dinner, you as the diner, are invited into a whole new world created by some amazing people, that you will not soon forget. The world would be a better place if more people put "this" kind of passion into the work place... Forget the theatre, club, or new toy you wanted to purchase; next weekend...get a reservation @ The Herbfarm...you will never forget it.

Youre not just going for a meal here as much as it is an entire experience. The three times Ive been, theyve done their dinners (and wine pairings) well. Portions are slight, but there are around 10 courses, so by the end of the event, I wasnt hungry (which--the first time I went--after seeing the first course, swore that I was going to need to pick up a cheeseburger on my way home). (Yes, I said cheeseburger.)

A soul-healing experience. If you need some help with putting your thoughts in order, this is the right place to be. Here people are people, taste is taste, elegance is elegance and everything is done with respect to life. You will enjoy the beauty of this world while talking to others, trying the food, and looking around yourself. So greatfull to Ron and Carrie for setting everything and sharing it with others.
