My husband and I thought we found our new place. Food was great, Huge portions. Service was friendly. One night I accidentally left my phone there and they were nice enough to hold it for me until the morning. I noticed a while later that there were pictures taken on my phone from that restaurant (pictures of the wall). Some were accidental, which didnt bother me because they told me they turned it off to prevent it from going off in the restaurant. But some were posed with old men holding their coffee looking and posing at the camera. When I called the only thing I expected was an apology and the assurance that they would talk to whomever did it and take care of the problem. When I talked to the manager I had NEVER been more rudely treated in my entire life by ANY business owner. I was yelled at for accusing her staff of taking the pictures and was told that I was lucky that I even got the phone back. There was much more to the conversation but the point of this review is that there are serious issues here and I will never patronize any Fat Daves (the other one in Vancouver is owned by the same family) and I will tell everyone I know about how horribly I was treated. Consistently good service laid waste by very inconsistent food quality. Been here 3 times, it was really good the 1st time. Took a friend for breakfast a week later and it wasnt as good but still ok. Went this morning and it was terrible, the pancakes were very tough and rubbery. The bacon was actually the worst part, I didnt finish it. This is the first time Ive ever been served bacon I wouldnt eat. The over easy eggs had no salt or pepper, they were properly cooked though. The baby red potates have been consistently good at least. There are better restaraunts closer to home. I dont think Ill be going to Fat Daves again.

Came here for a late breakfast. Service was decent, coffee cups were kind of small, but the temperature was great - able to drink it right away, although it tasted like nothing. Hash browns were super crispy (without having to special order them that way), but wish I had ordered the roasted potatoes, as the shredded were a little too greasy. Ordered corn beef hash, which was on special. Straight out of a can, pretty disappointing. Scrambled eggs were griddle cooked - thin sheets of overcooked egg. Probably would have had a better time if I had chosen something different.

Fat Daves is everything it should be. No more no less. They do what they do with an efficiency and proficiency that only come from years of practice and repetition. Good solid meals, shareable portions (you were warned) well prepared and always accurate. The staff has an edgy charm to their style that says they are on a first name basis with the regulars and are sizing you up a bit until you fall to their charms and become one yourself. Cholesterol be damned! I hope FDs is here for many more years. So many old Hazel Dell icons have given way to development in recent years.

I used to go here all the time with friends and I hated it! Its always freezing because they have the fans going 24/7, even when its cold out. The waitresses will look at you funny if you try to order something theyre not used to hearing, such as the dinner salad or something with extra cheese. If youre going to order the fries, keep in mind that theyre crinkle-cut, like the kind you can get frozen at Safeway. Also, if you come here after midnight, you risk getting hit on by creepy old drunk guys.

Sandy is an amazing waitress. She made sure we knew exactly what we were getting and how much. She didnt just do her job as expected, she went above and beyond. You dont have to choose quality or quantity here. The food was so good and so much for the price. 3 of us ate for about $40 and we left overfilled. Definitely a diamond in the rough. We will be returning!

Best little place no one has ever heard of. Bartender likes to make drinks good n strong, food is always great. Bathroom could use a little help, but not bad for the fact the place has been there since before the 70s. Great burger, used to be called the 4x6 but called something else now, but the staff remember the old name just fine. Great food, great price.

Tonight was delicious! I ordered the new California with hashbrowns and a biscuit with a side of gravy. The shredded hashbrowns wew a perfect toasty brown and the outsides were crisp with a tender inside. My omelette was bursting with filling the eggs perfectly cooked and folded. I have not had a breakfast this good since my grandmothers house.

I truly enjoyed my breakfast at Daves. I hadnt eaten at Daves in many years, but was driving by about breakfast time, and decided to re-visit. They did not disappoint. The breakfast was gorgeous, and delicious, and could really tell the cook knew what he/she was doing. I am going to be making a point of going to Daves again.

Went here years ago, sounds like it hasnt changed. Back then the food was forgettable and the coffee was over glorified brown water - NO taste AT ALL, and I am NOT a coffee snob (Fred Meyer canned coffee isnt bad IMO). Lame service, kinda of gross cleanliness wise. Makes Mickey Ds seem like a five star gourmet experience!

Fat Dave has been a favorite of mine and many other locals for many years. I have been going there since I was 14 and you could smoke inside! Always good food and customer service open 24 hours which is a plus.. Im 37 now and I still make it out there for breakfast once a month because its that good

Love that theyre open 24 hours, food isnt AMAZING but Im never disappointed when I go and that really matters to me. Very friendly atmosphere, have never had a bad experience. The bar is a little small and noisy, but you can have quiet drinks in the dining area if you dont want to sit at the bar.

Its not a five star resturant by any means but I had a 5 star experience by far. This place is warm and welcoming and old school. The food is fantastic for the money, the trip back in time is priceless and they never stop filling your cup with perfectly adiquate coffee:)

Love coming to fat Daves! The service may be a little slower than what a big restaurant can offer, but the local diner feel and great food and menu selection makes up for it! Their 1000 island sauce with fries is the best!

I didnt even stay long enough to order food, and Ive never done that before. Waitress was a four letter word from the get go. I got the feeling that you get a different level of service if youre not a regular.

Loud, noisy employees. Learned about bad step mothers, dying friends, disgruntled past employees, dogs rescued from abusive homes, and more. All shouted across the restaurant at high decibels. Food okay.

Best diner food weve had in a long time!! Huge portions, fresh good food, friendly staff. Even our son, the pickiest eater to ever exist, left with a full happy belly. Will definitely be coming back!

Food is always good. Portions kinda vary depending on whos in the kitchen. I have never been disappointed here. I know exactly what Im getting when I come here. :) and its a plus theyre open 24/7
