Visit was pretty unremarkable. The Pad Thai is made with that cheap ketchup-tasting sauce and is not an authentic recipe. My husband had some beef dish and that was also quite basic and forgettable. It wasnt horrible, but it wasnt anything Id go back to. Might try the curry some day to give it a second try... but probably not. I was hoping that since it was owned by a Thai family (as Ive heard) that they would include some traditional family recipes, so that was disappointing... nothing like the Thai food in Thailand (or hole in the wall places in East Portland). If I could give it 2.5 stars I would.

Dont let the decor fool you, there is good food to be had here. This is a little hole in the wall Thai restaurant run by a Thai family. The food is authentic and well prepared. I eat a lot of Thai food and the noodles I was served for lunch were just as good as any Ive received at the popular downtown restaurants for twice the price. I would avoid the fried spring rolls as they appeared to be factory made and re-heated. Otherwise, everything out of the wok has been excellent.

I have taken a long time to try out our local thai place. We already had some favorite spots to get thai food and we were hesitant because it can be hit or miss. Then, with family in town we tookthe risk of ordering for evryone. We got six differnt dishes and everyone was pleased although some of will turn down the spice on our next request. Authentically, medium was pretty hot. Noodles, rice and curry all passed the test. Well be going back soon.

I see some bad reviews on here but in the last 5 years I have eaten here at least 20 times and never had a single complaint. The food is always ready when I come to pick it up and absolutely delicious. My wife likes the pad thai and I love the curry with vegetables, both my kids like the pineapple stir fry. Definitely good food and the prices are fair.

The salad roll wraps were rancid you could smell how bad they were before you even unwrapped them from the plastic. My pad Thai was lukewarm and the sauce tasted like katscup. I have not been in awhile, now I remember why. I will never go back, it needs to be shut down. I paid $14 for food I had to throw away.

Ugh. The food is gross. I guess reopening it did not help. The chicken in the curry is very old. I can tell it was not even cooked yesterday. I hate writing this because I doubt they are doing well, but serving old chicken is not cool. Avoid this place at all costs.

New Owners, Back to Basics and Good Food consistently. They have limited hours on weekends as the owner/operator wants to spend time with her grand kids. I appreciate that....and yes the owner is Thai and coached me before my own trip to Thailand last winter.

A lovely family owned Thai restaurant run by the sweetest people youll ever meet! Been eating here for many years and they never fail to treat us like family. Food is very tasty, and the daily specials are always yummy! Lunch or dinner you cant go wrong!

I was a regular at Thai Chef since I had first moved to Oregon City. My heart broke when I showed up and they were closed. I just went there and they are under new ownership. -New flooring -Newly painted and trimmed. -The BEST CURRY in town.

We were the only people in the place, and the food and service were terrible. Our "tempura" was luke warm frozen onion rings and french fries and the main courses were no better. I cant urge you strongly enough to stay away from this place...

Its tiny but who cares?! I dont go to Thai restaurants to sit and eat, I get it takeout for lunch. That being said, I love it. I go there often for Pad Thai, and its great. Will continue to be a lunch choice for me indefinitely.

Service was okay it took a while for her to come back out but other than that pad Thai was amazing the only funny thing was 2 dollars for a coke and 2 dollars for a side of peanut sauce but will definitely come again.

I eat here once or twice a week as I work just right around the corner. Hands down she makes the best Pad Thai in town. Its timeless and ridiculously delicious. Id also recommend the Pad See Ew and the curries.

I come here often. Its always good. Satay, Pad Thai, pad kee mao, pineapple fried rice. Never been disappointed. It may not be the best in Portland, but they have the best Thai food in Oregon City.

The food is delicious. The menu is a bit more creative than most Thai - more creative than just Pad Thai and Curry. Service wasnt fantastic, but we were the last before closing. Still it was good.
