If I could give this place no stars, I would. I used to go to the location in Beaverton because they had amazing food and service. I was so excited to hear that a location opened up near me. When I showed up, our wait was much longer than estimated for us, the employees were just standing around chatting about outside life and giving dirty looks to customers if they complained. I finally get seated and wait a good while before I am able to order drinks. Finally get to order and I order the French toast , eggs, and hash browns. Food comes out, the hash browns are still raw and nasty, and the French toast isnt even close to being done and very runny. My husbands hash browns were raw as well so we talked to the manager about it and he told us we were wrong, that they were cooked. We asked for a refund and he tried to give us coupons for our NEXT visit (which we arent ever coming back to this location) and we told him no, that he will refund our money for the food. My husband had taken a few bites out of the hash browns and the manager wanted to charge him for the few bites he did take. I dont know who hired this guy to be the manager but he shouldnt work there period. At least not with customers or cooking the food. He was rude and inconsiderate and I have never dealt with such horrible customer service in my life. This place needs a re-evaluation of its employees.

Utterly disappointing. Having recently moved to Vancouver weve been trying all the different eateries, and this place has been the most disappointing. At first entering, the front staff seemed tired and just didnt seem to want to be there. We were sat in the corner right in front of a bus/drink station despite there being easily 15 other open tables. From there we could see the place is very dirty, our table wasnt even properly cleaned and there were crumbs left on the seats and table. To boot, their menu is scribed onto old newspaper, which gets very dirty very quickly to say the least, and you cant wipe down paper, and it is also very hard to read if youre hard of eyesight. From our corner dungeon spot I could observe the kitchen, some of whom were working hard but clearly didnt want to be there, and those having fun goofing off not doing their jobs. I havent even gotten to the food. I had one of their burgers, okay but not worth remembering let alone the price, with extremely salty fries. My mother had chicken pot pie; grossly undercooked vegetables somehow with grossly overcooked chicken. Overall, extremely disappointing, and we will NOT be going back. If you want good food, go next door in either direction.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Ive been here three times and two of those times Ive witnessed the waitresses arguing with the cooks in front of customers. The first time I came here I sat up front in front of the kitchen and the food would be sitting there for at least ten minutes without a waitress picking them up, including my own food. Once they finally got the food, customers would complain that the food was too cold and the waitresses would complain to the cooks as if they didnt cook the food long enough. It took almost a half an hour for me to just order my food and almost an hour for my food to arrive and I just ordered french toast. We decided to get dessert and ended up waiting over 20 minutes when the waitresses came out and said she had set the first lava cake on fire so thats why our dessert was late. Once we got up to pay the hostess asked how our food was and when we complained about the service she showed no interest at all and just said okay. This is not the way to treat a customer. I will never go back.

Ive been to Black Bear Diners in other cities, and it was just a typical unpretentious diner. However this venue was a brand new building that seemed like it would better fit a trendy Italian restaurant. This establishment seemed to want to impress with serving size and forgot to do anything else. At my table one persons pancakes had strips of plastic in it and had to be sent back. I ordered salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette, which smelled seriously off, and when I tried to nicely bring it up to the the waitress she instead made a big embarrassing production out of it and brought the manager out, but his explanation could be summarized as "thats just the way it is." Across from us, a man African American man sitting alone waited over 30 minutes to be helped and finally gave up and left. I really cant say the oversight was a race thing (judging by the mix of ethnicities at my table) but it sure looked bad. I have no desire to come back.

Would you like some meatloaf with your gravy?? I just had my first experience at Bearpaw Diner. Let me make this super clear, the staff are amazing. The server Cherry was so wonderful! But the food? not so much. Feeling a need for some comfort food, I ordered the meatloaf with mash! what I got was a thin slice of lukewarm spam swimming in gravy, accompanied with mash potatoes that tasted like the tap water they were cooked in. I cant talk about the gravy, it makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little. I scraped off the gravy and ate one bite of potatoes and one bite of the spam loaf. Thats all I could manage. My son who ordered cheese pizza, could only eat one slice, it tasted awful too. However, my daughters chose an all day breakfast item and loved it. Note to self, visit the diner for breakfast and stay away from everything else!

Only been here twice with my wife and 4 kids, brother in law and his wife, and mother in law and her man, so just 10 of us. 25 minute plus wait time to get a table and they dont do reservations. First time we went we waited almost an hour for our food. Once we got our food my mother didnt for anther 25 minutes after we all got ours and we were all pretty much done so that was pretty crappy, she got her meal comped but not good enough really as a whole. 2nd time we went 5/15/16, my mother in law went at 10.15a to get seats for us all but had to wait 25 minutes to get them, once all 10 of us got there and ordered food we waited about 1 hour but all got our food at the same time this time round. So overall I like the place, the food is good and the staff are friendly, but, you can see they are clearly under staffed as you can see there rushing around.

Weve been several times before and love the atmosphere and friendly service. We went for lunch this time instead of dinner (Wed 4/27 1ish). The waitress was friendly but didnt take anything empty of the table unless we asked her to ex: multiple water and soda glasses, she didnt tell us the soups, and was surprised when we asked for dessert that she didnt offer. The new "pot pie" was an epic fail. The biscuit is WAY to big, the completely different flavored chicken on top was just weird, and had more mushrooms then anything else. The waitress didnt even ask if I wanted a box for it, I think she knew... We had to ask for a cashier after waiting to pay. Im glad this want my first visit because it would have clouded my impression.
