To the person who said a sad place compared to the Honeybear... get over it! The Honeybear has been gone for so many years now and those folks who loved it, and yes for good reason, seem to still not be able to let it go. Zoka is BY FAR one of the best neighborhood coffeeshops for wonderful fresh tasty baked goods, fresh coffee and other homemade tasting sweet and savory foods. Its a great place to meet with friends, work on a school project or type away on your laptop. The staff are ALWAYS nice and helpful... they do their job and maybe they just didnt like you that day bc it was the 100th time you had been in Zoka still mourning over the Honeybear being gone.

Wife and I were walking by the UW Village locale. We saw on their sign that they roast their own coffee. Wife is a barrista and works for a wonderful house/roaster in Bremerton (The Coffee Oasis). We were interested in getting a bag of beans. When asked about their different blends and coffees, the guy behind the counter (27ish, pierced face) did not give me the impression that he knew very much about their beans or how to describe each blend. We chose the house blend. A little pricey at $1 per ounce. It was just average. Nothing to go screaming into the street about, for sure.

Ive had a long-standing love/hate relationship with this Zoka. The espresso is killer, but you might as well get it to go because theres almost never any seating. The wait time for that stellar cup o Joe is also kind of outrageous. It seems like they never have enough staff to handle orders. To top it all off their pastry selection has gone down the tube over the last few years. They do, thank goodness, still have the Jam Dot which goes nicely with a hot plain latte. If youre in a hurry to get your fix, dont go here.

I came here to meet a business contact about a week ago. The place is very spacious with a lot of seating, but the lighting isnt great at every seating area. The coffee was delicious. I got an iced soy latte. Starbucks iced soy lattes dont even compare, and I have a Starbucks Gold Card. I also got a rewards card and the cashier gave me five points instead of just one because I told her it was my first time at Zokas. Such good service!

Love this coffee store . Usually get the Guatemalan drip coffee which is a little more richer and creamier than the Ethiopian (more light and fruity) coffee comes in 1 standard size cup and costs $3.00. They also serve lattes, mochas, etc they have donuts, granola+ yogurt, and milk, and fruit bars. They have a front seating room if youd like to bring a laptop and get to work !

I love the atmosphere of this place, as well as their food offerings! As a non-coffee drinker, I really like both their sweet and spicy chais, and the place is great and laid back for working or meeting up with people. My only complaint is it is sometimes so popular/busy that it can be hard to find a table!

One of my favorite places to plant myself for a few hours and get some work done. Its sometimes hard to find a seat, but the atmosphere is great. I also like the food here better than most coffee shops - since I dont drink coffee and tea is tea pretty much anywhere the food is more important to me!

This coffee shop has a TON of space! It is ideal for long homework assignments using their wi-fi. The coffee is overpriced, but they do have a stamp card thing, where each 10th coffee is free, so thats like 10% off on the average. Very friendly staff as well.

Awesome quality roasted coffee. Brewed right at the Tangletown location, too. Could be better planned and a little quicker on the pour-over process, I know it takes a bit, but shouldnt have multiple espressos coming out ahead of it when ordered after.

Zoka is a great place to get a great cup of coffee. They have a fantastic selection, and the free wi-fi is second to none. The only caveat is be prepared to wrestle your way into a good place to sit, because the crowds at Zoka are also notorious...

Ive been coming here almost daily for >5 years. Its like cheers in Seattle. Great staff, great coffee. Neighborhood standard with a consistent set of regulars and personalities. Also a great place to hunker down and work with your laptop.

Delicious beans. Americanos, lattes, tea are all high quality. Zoka bars are so good that you could gain weight thinking about them. And they brought the scones back. A great place to write a review or two about coffeeshops. ;)

Fantastic espresso shots. Outstanding cappuccino. Wonderful atmosphere. Great location near UW. Best coffee I found in Seattle. Pastries were only so-so. Wifi was not obviously free, however, which was a hitch in the giddyup.

Nice place with good coffee and a good selection of pastries. The crowd is college types working very hard over laptops. I did not like the bearded barista constantly combing and flicking his long beard. Very off putting.

Fantastic coffee shop! Great food and beverages. The service is great and you usually for have to wait long. Its nice to come here and work because of the big open space and tables that are always available to sit at.

Overpriced, slow staff, not very friendly. They will ramble on for far too long if you ask about coffee and they cannot multitask while they chat. Coffee is above average if you have the patience to wait.

one of nicest coffees in town. except the place is too cold temperature wise. 2 hour limit internet is also a drag. food is alright, better than most. nice neighborhood near university village. :)

Go here for a decent espresso. Many try to study here, but it is kinda distracting as everyone is checking each other out all the time. It has the feel of a library at night. Kind of pricey.

GREAT COFFEE. Took forever to make pour over and many people following me in line were served before my pour over was even started. But worth the wait, it was delicious.

This is my daily routine spot in the morning. Great coffee, and great baristas like Kendall, Morgan, Leah and Beth. Lots of windows, good bakery items and great service.

Showed up early enough on Saturday that their wasnt a wait and plenty odd space in their large dining area. Really cool espresso machine from Seattle Espresso Machine Co.

Very good coffee. Average customer service. Great snacks. But always seems to be cold inside. People in here right now are all wearing their parkas.

Delicious coffee with outdoor seating when the weather is good. Across the street from MIghty-O-Donuts. Some parking around the neighborhood.
