I had been a customer of Wayward for a little while. I liked that they were open late, its a nice big space, and its close to my house. There is a nice community that goes to wayward too. People play games, study, and the shop promotes these activities by reserving tables for regular game players. I, however, will no longer be taking my business to wayward. Most of the baristas at wayward are friendly and take pride in their space, but the primary barista treats customers with contempt. The nice hours, space, and community, are not enough to overcome the unpleasant experience of a barista who consistently expresses disdain for customers.

Im honestly not super into Firefly but the food and coffee here is really good. It was my go-to coffee shop when I lived nearby, I appreciate the vegan options, especially for food, that youll have trouble finding at other coffee places. Great internet and lots of space to set up with a laptop, sketchbook, game, or book. I dont understand the reviews saying the staff is rude. Everyone has always been fantastic to me; if you are respectful and friendly youll get the same right back. If you open your mouth and fedoras fly out then its your own fault if people dont really want to chat.

Out of curiosity to see what had replaced our beloved Science & Math store, my wife and I -- who have lived in Roosevelt for 20 years -- were SO pleasantly surprised to find a cafe serving vegetarian/vegan bites and delicious coffee. We settled into a comfy couch and I watched as she absorbed the quirky sci-fi decor. As HUGE fans of the sadly discontinued Firefly series, it was a riot watching her eyes widen as she realized that we were among aficionados. This is *such* a better experience than the nearby still-decaying Bus Stop Espresso!

This place is "geeky" and "nerdy" if at some point in your life maybe in passing have caught two or three minutes of Star Trek. The memorabilia is cool though. My beef is that the majority of the clientele seems to be all about the environmentally friendly save the animals rhetoric yet they sit there on overrated electronic devices made in a country that blatantly disregards all those things and more. I was charged $1.37 for a refill... The girl at the counter very expressly asked me for a tip.

They have quite a few vegan options - All three soup options are vegan and a few sandwich options too. Mighty O vegan donuts in the pastry case are always a great idea. Yummy chai latte with hemp milk! Baristas are always friendly. Eclectic yet ample seating that shows its age and use. Eclectic mix on bookshelf. Board games and kids games present for use. Often have board game nights or live music on the calendar. Not a modern feel. Its more like visiting grandmas house.

We used to frequent this place, but after our last visit we will not be returning. The coffee house has a great vibe, and almost every barista is helpful and friendly. Unfortunately one barista (I believe to be the main barista) with their disrespectful and shockingly bad attitude toward their customers has ruined this great little coffee house. The experience was appalling and hugely disappointing. Ive never left a place feeling so hurt, baffled, and offended.

If youre a nerd and/or vegetarian, you should definitely check this place out. Its filled with sci-fi posters, model spaceships, and other nerdy things. Nice selection of vegetarian food, and even four vegan sandwiches and an array of vegan soups. The staff are friendly and theres always interesting people in here, including a bunch of different groups for writing and other nerdery who meet here regularly. They have wi-fi, ask for the password.

Wayward is one of my favorite places in the world. The atmosphere is wonderfully geeky, baristas are friendly and helpful, and the coffee & food is outstanding. They are happy to host groups at their numerous tables- RPG groups, writers, and artists all find a place to settle. Wayward is a must visit when my friends are in town. Underground parking makes it easy to get in and out! Support your local coffeehouse and get your geek on. :)

This Coffeehouse is actually very nice. I enjoyed sitting here to have some breakfast. While I was there I overheard the barista talking to what I assume is her boss. She was a little bit concerned about one of the employees hours and things, and you could tell that she really cares about this coffee shop, which gave me the impression that it is likely also consistently good. Overall, I really liked this place.

Wayward is a truly unique place. It is welcoming and diverse The beverage selection is broad and has a spirit of its own. They also have magnificent sandwiches! They host lots of events that cater to those who like space cowboys and board games. An ideal place to grab a bite and work on your laptop. They also have a bookshelf with an array of fiction for guests to read.

Wayward coffeehouse cultivates an open and accepting environment. I joined a group of strangers playing board games and developed friendships. Another night I sat down around a table of brilliant communicators and listened and shared without fear of judgement. Youll be surprised and overjoyed by the people you meet here. Everyone is engaging and intelligent.

Its a great local shop thats open late (7 days a week and many holidays too) and serves delicious coffees at a reasonable price. Is Vegetarian/vegan, with a very small food selection. Go for the coffee, stay for getting work done or as part of one of the many groups that meet and play here. My go-to for late night cram sessions or paper writing.

As a Firefly fan I was thrilled when I stumbled in here by accident one morning. Staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. The interior really feels like a personal labor of love, which I have great respect for. I am not a coffee aficionado so Ill just say it was good and leave it at that. Loved the Wash bagel, too.

I love this place! Great themed drinks, cozy seats and tables perfect for homework or hosting a having session. You can reserve seats for your game or just hang out under posters of everyones favourite scifi western. Local artists also on display and for sale if you cant get enough of their pieces and they have pretty tasty sandwiches, too.

Free wifi, some outlets, it can get crowded in the evenings, its a hopping joint. The food is somewhat simple fare, mostly varieties of melts and sandwiches, but there are soups and pastries, too. The beverages are tasty typical cafe drinks. The art on the wall clearly sets the tone for a favorite nerdy hangout spot.

My favorite coffeehouse. They have special events throughout the month and their lattes are SPECTACULAR. They dont close until 11pm most nights. And I believe they are open on holidays as well, but not quite sure...Plus... Sci-fi themes coffeehouse! I wish I lived nearer, Id live in the coffeehouse if I could

Funky, roomy coffeehouse where you can chill out for an afternoon. Music is often distracting, though, think classic rock and top 40s from the 80s and 90s. Love all the nerd references and art - I mean, where else can you find a lovingly-drawn Starbug (from Red Dwarf) in chalk on the menu board?

Wayward is a geek friendly, independent coffee shop. The specialty drinks are all sci-fi references. There is a The owner is great and there is a good community of regulars. They will also let you reserve tables if you have group meetings or want to have a tabletop night with friends.
