The best cafe in the world. Exaggeration? Not much. if you want to work: plentiful electrical outlets, free blistering fast Google WiFi, roomy atmosphere where you arent sitting elbow to elbow, tables- some humongous- everywhere, music that is chill. Socializing: see above, and great couches, good beer, alcohol, music. Some music is live. Food is good from what I have tried. Coffee fantastic (tho the hot chocolate is like everywhere else- pretty bad) People watch? : the place is huge. nice big wrap-around windows right at the head of Broadway in Capitol Hill. Dim lighting, so you can look busy while writing your observations.... Do nothing? : see above. Seriously. This is what cafes should be. They dont revel in fake hipster tude- they just seem to want to make great coffee and create a good cafe experience. They unashamedly praise Starbucks; and they took the good parts. if I need to get work done and my own home walls are closing in, I would come here. But I cannot. Its pretty far from Boston......

This place is a decent coffee shop, but it is expensive and pretentious. It is a great place for large groups to meet though. They do have a nice tea selection, and I would go into that in more detail and extoll the virtues of their various teas, if I liked tea. I will say their pre-packaged (though that is not, in this case, an indicator of low quality) grilled cheese sandwich is pretty delicious. Though, like the shop it comes from, it is expensive and pretentious. It would be nice if those two qualities were not orthogonal so I could give a wholly positive or wholly negative and easily digestible review. Unfortunately, they are, and so the sandwich is delicious (and possibly even as healthy as you could expect from a grilled cheese sandwich) despite its other negative qualities.

Wow! This place is AMAZING! The staff is friendly and really knowledgeable. The atmosphere is true to the neighborhood, feeding off of the theater vibe (the Harvard Exit is across the street). Being inside you experience a chill fusion of what a rustic über quality cafe should be, combined with elegance and refinement. They are sporting some really amazing equipment it looks like, including a Seattle made espresso machine and the clover eagerly waiting on its own counter. I havent made it yet, but I think that they have a projector and sound system set up so that they can show local (?) movies and films in house. Super excited about this place! Im proud of Starbucks for trying this. A great way to showcase some truly amazing coffee!

Lots of eclectic seating including several large tables and comfy lounge chairs. Nice place to read or work for a few hours, but be warned its not quiet. This place is usually pretty busy and with the open floor plan all sound carries. Normal coffee/tea offerings plus a few beer and wine options. Good food selection for a coffee shop too. I wouldnt go here specifically for a meal, but if you are here already and need food its okay. Only about a 2-3 minute walk from the Capitol Hill light rail station. Best of all its open late. They also have a big room in the back thats reservable.

Excellent service consistently. This is an undercover Starbucks where they will test new drinks, and one time I was given a free sample of a delicious coffee at the counter. There is a decent (7-8) beer selection and some wine and small plates and pastries available, including vegan and gluten free. There is lots of comfortable seating, but sometimes it is tough to find a plug without shuffling around a little. The ambience is relaxed and its a great place to work or stop for a coffee or beer at the end of your day.

The coffee is always good and the atmosphere is great. Sometimes service great...other times, not. This last weekend, I had the worst. Three women behind the counter right in front of me were engaged in conversation and laughing. Finally, the conversation stopped and one of them took my order. Then their conversation started up again with no one making my coffee. I asked for my money back, walked one block down the street where I received fast and friendly service plus good coffee.

Not a fan of the Starbucks vibe and crowed. If youre a fan then RSC is inspired by SB so there you go. Poor overs are good, that might just be about it... It is worth mentioning that for a few visits now I happen to sit next to some culturally insensitive (also genuinely ignorant) folks. Not sure why the café tends to attract a crowd like this. Overall disgusting and disappointing to see a couple LGBT folks partake in the conversation. SO 2017 Oh the bathroom situation is great!

Ample seating, great cozy interior. The drinks are tasty and there is no wonder that so many people come here to chat and do work. Its a bit crowded at times, but its so nice when you can find a seat to settle in. Just order stuff so that you arent senselessly leeching on the good vibes here. Its a business and I like to keep them in it. Some people might find the interior too manufactured and a bit over the top, trying too hard to be that cool coffee place.

This is special to me cause this is the first place I went in Seattle. Its a cozy little coffee bar on the corner of Roy street. The place has a kind of old school charm in it. You could go there alone or with a friend and make an evening out of the board games they offer or just choose to work with a cup of Americano.. Note: They host a wonderful event "Fresh Ground stories" every month which is a perfect time to visit the cafe.

This is one of those coffee houses with tons of comfy places to sit, great wifi and very good coffee. Little known fact is that this is owned and managed as a Starbucks concept café. Feels nothing like SBUX, and they use different beans, and to me they nailed the concepts that SBUX regular stores should be more like. This place has a great location at the end of Broadway on Capitol Hill, and is very welcoming.

Roy street coffee has a great atmosphere. It is very large and I can always find a table even at the busy times. The coffee and breakfast options are delicious. I would recommend the field burrito and the Kenya blend if they have it. The only thing I dont like is they yell out the item you ordered to tell you it is ready. It can get confusing when it is busy and there are multiple orders with the same name.

I love Roy Street. It is a street level cafe from Starbucks. Theyre from the same parent but couldnt be more different. Roy Street has lush, red chairs that you can just melt into. I havent found a coffeehouse in Seattle that has such plentiful and comfortable seating like Roy Street. Disclaimer, I do work for Starbucks, but I come here for leisure and love that Seattle has a bounty of coffeehouses.

This is a really comfortable coffeehouse with a great staff and amazing coffee. They know their coffee and have a really good selection of sandwiches, breakfast and salads as well as pastries. The music is always interesting and the vibe in there is top shelf. What makes it for me is the baristas here, they are some of the nicest people I know, and always are happy to see me. They are like family <3
