I turned 21 on Thursday which also means that my license expired on that birthday, It is now Sunday, I went out for my brothers 22nd birthday. So I planned to get my new license before my birthday until I found out on the Washington State DMV webpage that they do not issue horizontal licenses for individuals who are not yet 21 and for this reason they also state that they have no penalty for waiting up to 60 days after your birthday to replace your license, although they warn that if a police officer pulls you over they could decide to punish you for driving with an expired license. Now some of you may not know the importance of a horizontal license but it can be a big deal, its a great indicator right away that someone is over 21 and actually some Cannabis stores in Washington do not take vertical licenses. Anyway so I went out for my 21st on Thursday night, spent Friday hungover and was planning to renew my license on Monday, as the DMV is closed on weekends. Enter Amy, our server at The Ram at The University Village. Me and some friends went out to celebrate my brothers 22nd. Now we are all over 21 at this table, however when Amy comes up she immediately with a rude tone of voice states that she "will be checking out ids". Now one of my friends is from out of state so she stated she would have to show his license to her manager as well as any vertical licenses (one reason right here why horizontals are a big deal). So of course mine is still vertical, when she comes back she states that my id is expired and I will not be served. I didnt really try to fight it other than stating I just turned 21 and the DMV is closed on the weekends, but she didnt care, so I dropped it, I was driving anyway and I didnt need the calories of one beer. Now when my brother went to the restroom we told the hostess(one of our mutual friends) to tell the server to grab us two tequila shots for his 22nd. Apparently Amy had gotten mad thinking that I was trying to order the tequila when the hostess told her and they ordered it on one of our friends tabs. Now Im just salty in general so I just also want to say that their medium rare burger was grey throughout. Anyway I think Amy was very rude and even if she was just trying to make sure anyone was trying to use a fake Id or something its best to always still be polite. I debated about leaving half of a dollar as my tip, not 50 cents but a ripped up dollar. But I realized that would only perpetuate her rudeness, so I left a 25% tip. Hope they learn to be nice.

I live an hour away from this place I happen to have lost my pocket knife while sitting at my table I called the restaurant 3 days in a row to ask if they had found it explaining that it could be in the crack of the seat. Three times I was told no. I decided to make the adventure back up, to see if they had it. good thing my name was engraved into the knife as it was on the managers store keys with my name on it, thank God I have my wits about me. I pulled out my ID and ask him for my knife back in a very calm manner. He did immediately handed over, I asked why when I personally spoke to him the night before he lied to me. According to him I was confused. The entire Ram franchise lost me as a customer theft is a disgusting human quality and I will not be patronizing a restaurant that has management like that. I did write a letter to their corporate office. where I received an apology letter, telling me they would look into it. I dont know that I can expect more but it just didnt seem enough to me. And no I wouldnt utilize a free meal, trust is a very important quality in the food industry.

This was my first time eating at RAM and it was great! Our server was so chill and friendly. Things I love: They have their own brewed beer and it comes in three affordable sizes, so if you just want a taste of porter to go with your porter burger, you can get the 10oz, which is what I did. Ill definitely get a whole point next time, it was great! I also lived the little note at the top of the menu letting me know about the 19% service charge. When I went to the website to find out more (while I was waiting for my friend to arrive), I found out that they actually pay all their staff a living wage and provide medical benefits, and that the restaurant is actually employee owned. If thats not a good reason to support a business, I dont know what is. The check said that no tip was expected due to the service charge, but we left a little extra anyway, because Valerie was awesome.

Me and my roommates have made it a habit of going every Sunday for the last couple of months. The pros: food is half off on Sundays due to happy hour, beer is cheap and amazing (I recommend the blond and the hefeweizen), go for a burger and you wont be disappointed. Two of my roommates are vegetarians and it turns out that while the menu doesnt explicitly say it, you can substitute a veggie patty for any of the burgers and the nachos arent half bad without any of the meat. The cons: sometimes getting seats can be hard for a larger group (I have 7 roommates), the portions arent huge so get yourself a beer to drink it all down with. All in all, Ive gone a bunch and I will go a bunch more.

We were there for brunch. Food was excellent. Waiter was terrible. We told him we were big coffee drinkers and he never once came by to offer more coffee during or after the meal -- we had to either hail him or ask another waitperson to send him to our table. Given their policy of automatic tipping, we were unable to reflect his poor performance in a low tip. We noticed some other rude behavior from the staff -- obviously a result of this automatic tipping. We will spend our $100 plus elsewhere.
