I hate to even leave bad reviews, but my husband and I were at best disappointed with our visit to the salmon house this weekend. We were in Olympia visiting from the Seattle area and decided, on our way home, instead of going back through Port Angeles, wed take a different route back. Along the way, we grew hungry and only had a two options of places to eat: 1. A pizza place (that when we got there looked sketchy and dirty, so we didnt feel comfortable going in). 2. The salmon house, about 8 minutes off route. We decided since they had such good reviews, wed give them a shot and honestly, what other choice did we have? We arrived excited, as wed been on the road already an hour and a half and still had three hours to go; tired and cold, ready to eat and get back on the road. We waited at least 40 minutes to be seated, after being told it would only be about 15. I was very irritated at that point, but my husband kept assuring me it would be fine, that they were "just understaffed and it would surely work out shortly." After finally being seated, we didnt get our water or to even get to place our order for a long while. Every time the owner would pass, I would intentionally go out of my way to look as miserable as I could hoping he might stop and offer to at least bring us some crackers to hold us over. He didnt. He didnt even acknowledge us... We were there over an hour and a half before we even got our food. At the point we finally got it, my husband had been given baked versus broiled salmon, which takes longer to cook and wasnt what he wanted. His vegetables were also cold and he left still feeling hungry. We werent about to send it back or request it at least be heated up for the fear it may take another 30 minutes, or however long, and put us further behind in getting home. As for myself, my spaghetti was good. It wasnt spectacular, as I felt I could have made the same dish at home, but it was satisfying, especially considering how hungry I was. From the point we got our food on, we asked for our check in advance, which also took forever to get and was a little concerning considering we gave the waitress our credit card immediately and she took forever to return with it. They didnt even offer a discount for the inconvenience (and their food is way over priced for the lack of selection and quality!). Regardless, we left hours later, my husband still hungry and frustrated with the fact that all the time we spent at the restaurant, we could have been driving and 30 minutes from home. The staff was very nice, but there were only two waitresses working, which was clearly NOT enough for their size of establishment. The restaurant isnt prepared for a larger crowd. Needless to say, I dont think that well be returning and will willingly eat packed lunches next time around to avoid the inevitable inconvenience.

We asked locals where to go, and they all said to try this place. I had the ste34ak & prawns, askign for the garlic butter prawns instead of the deep fried prawns that normally are paired with the steak. i was delighted that the sauce was not over powering but very subtle in that it enhance the flavor of the prawns instead of over powering it. Th meal also came with my choice of potatoes and although the menu didnt mention it, also steamed veggies. i chose fries for the potatoes. One measure of a good restaurant is beign ab le to eat fries wiothout ketchup even as they cool down and these fries are tasty all the way to beign cool. My sisters on brother in law all had the baked salmon and they all were very very happy with it. Our visit was in Feb. of 2017, and at that time the prices were such that with drinks, you shoudl expect to pay about $30-40 per person, but if you were to visit a restaurant in Seattle or Portland with equivalent quality food you would be [aying about $10-15 more per person, so in that sense it is a good value if you dont mind paying for really good food.

We enjoyed two really nice meals here during a hiking trip to the Lake Quinalt area. This was the perfect place to eat after a long day exploring the national forest. The Salmon was fresh and perfect and the trout was incredibly fresh and delicious, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. During our second visit we ventured away from fish and decided to try the spaghetti and meatballs. Good, basic comfort food that hit the spot after 7 hours of hiking. They have a small wine list with several "private label" selections. We enjoyed the very reasonable Cab-Merlot. At only $6 a glass, it was light and flavorful, suitable for both our fish and pasta dinners. The service was very casual and cheerful. The friendly staff made this a fun spot for a very pleasant meal.

Food was expensive and flavorless. The hostess seated us, then after ten or fifteen min took our order. Never saw our waitress until the food was done, after twenty min wait. Wife asked to have her food boxed to go. They threw away all the vegetables she was saving. The menu was boring, made for the blandest of people. My blackened salmon was cooked with the finest of Kirkland brand finesse. A loud obnoxious woman was screaming for her Nana, whom worked there or owned the place, then had a loud conversation on her phone about money. Such atmosphere. Mens bathroom was gross. Beware all ye who enter without cellphone coverage and cant read reviews prior to dining here.

Service was very friendly, I had the dill salmon and it was delicious. Unlike the previous reviewer I found the restaurant to be clean and very pleasant. It was a little highly priced (about $18-22 for the main meal per person, $7-10 for drinks) but it was a fantastic meal with very nicely cooked salmon, which I would expect to pay more for. The menu indicated our meals may take longer to come out, but they arrived within a reasonable amount of time (and we ordered the garlic cheesy bread to get us through). I would happily recommend people go here for some local salmon and a lovely evening.

I had a very poor experience at the Salmon house. They ran out of salmon, sauce and chicken. On top of that our food took over an hour to get prepared. The service was bad also. Our waitress was very unfriendly and rude. If I could I would rate this a zero stars. I recommend you do not make the same mistake as me and do not go there.

This review is for a carryout order of Chicken Wings and Bacon Wrapped Scallops in December 2014. Absolutely perfect. I will definitely be patronizing this place again. I could not imagine consciously spending money in Amanda Park as opposed to this great place unless it was at the mercantile or the liquor store. Peace!!

It didnt even take five minutes to realize this establishment was a mistake to enter. While friendly, the staff seem to like to disappear after youve been seated. The prices were ridiculous; salmon and chicken should not cost the same. We eventually decided to up and leave, still without running into a single employee.
