Craving a little Mexican but not really knowing what to expect, we went to Plaza Girabalidi on a wet Seattle Friday night. The place was modestly busy - enough people to make it feel well-liked but no so busy that we had to wait - and got seated immediately. We were immediately presented with a medium-spicy salsa, warm chips AND pico de gallo. I havent had pico that tasty and fresh either ever, or in a long time. There was something a little magical about the combo of onions, jalapeno, peppers, garlic, a few other things and a touch of lemon juice. Browsing the menu knowing that Seattle is known for fresh seafood, I opted for the shrimp and octopus soup. Ive had this before, usually in a rich, thick tomato based stock. This one was in a much thinner soup which I found much nicer because the tomato flavor didnt overpower the seafood. My husband had the pork abodabo with chile rellenos, beans and rice. The pork chop was a little dry, but the chiles were really good. Often they are overstuffed with cheese, these were light on cheese which made them tasty and not too chewy. Our waitress started the evening in Spanish, probably what she does in every first encounter, then switching to English. I engaged her in Spanish and she continued speaking in Spanish for the rest of the evening. I speak passable Spanish and I appreciated the opportunity for a little practice.

The waitress didnt speak English and had to keep fetching her colleague whenever we tried conversing. Whenever she brought things to our table, she didnt know who ordered what, despite our table consisting of just two people. Upon finishing our main course, instead of being offered the dessert menu, she was very quick to dump the bill on our table and start wandering off whilst invariably failing to understand my shocked question, "Are we being kicked out?" The food was fine but took far too long to be prepared. The male waiter was friendly and spoke English; I wouldve preferred to have dealt with him exclusively. The waitress must be part of the owners family, I suppose.

Went for dinner before a show. Honestly the service was not outstanding, but not terrible. I should have gone for the traditional margarita instead of the raspberry margarita. And most of my food tasted like it was one step above Taco Bell. I think I wouldnt have been so annoyed except for my date and Is dinner (2 entrees and 2 drinks) cost $50 not including tip. Tacos chukis may not have free chips, and el Camion may not have much seating - but if youre looking for something that is remotely truly Mexican this restaurant is not it!

As Colorado transplants me and my wife have been looking for a decent Mexican cuisine restaurant in Seattle and discovered this one soon after it opened. We became fans since - the food choices are great, portions are big and the prices are very good (comparing to Laredos and Cactus at least). Margaritas are pretty big and strong too =). Its also big enough that we can find a relatively quiet corner so we do not have to yell when talking. Highly recommend! Its definitely an underrated gem on Queen Anne and in Seattle in general.

Absolutely excellent!! Ive had my share of tacos (believe me I have :D) but the carne asada tacos at Plaza Garibaldi are just fantastic. The food here is authentic and the chefs are super cool. Everything is made fresh and the meats are seasoned just right. Be prepared to wait in a line during lunch but its so worth it and the prices are reasonable as well. Cant wait to hit it up again.

This is the best Mexican in Seattle in my opinion. I absolutely love it here. They have great food, great drinks, great staff, run by a wonderful family. They have karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays and it is a great place to have a birthday party! It is walking distance from Seattle Center so a great place to go to get normal priced food during a big event or festival.

A rare find these days--a Mexican restaurant with authentic and might I add generous portions of the best Mexica food. Ever. And service is absolutely wonderful. You never have to wait long for your food, even if the place is humming with lots of customers. And the wait staff always serve with a smile. We are lucky to have this restaurant in our neighborhood.

Best mexican food in town -- open late, fun atmosphere! Recommend you get the ceviche, any of the tacos, chicken tortilla soup (best ive ever had) yum yum, damn all of it is excellent!! Get ready to wait during weekends as it is full! Best times to go are later at night, and during the week late at night (past 9pm). No sign at the door, just a red light!

One of two of our go-to Mexican spits in Seattle. We love the pure authentic food and great long-time staff. The bar has a great happy hour with nachos, tacos and quesadillas for $5 or less. $3.95 Mexican drafts and $5 house margaritas. Happy hour lasts til 7pm which is always nice. Great food and good lunch specials. Free small parking lot behind!

Was in for lunch with a work group. Had about fifteen people in my party and after ordering, it seemed to take a long time for the food to finally come out (probably about fifteen minutes). Food was average quality, prices a bit high. Service was good (other than the initial wait time after ordering), friendly servers. Bathroom was fairly clean.

My wife and I keep coming back here. Good food, not your typical American "Mexican" food smothered in cheese. I recommend their Sopa de Mariscos, excellent flavor, Pollo en Mole, and Fajitas. Most other things weve had have been great. Skip the Torta Ahogada. Excellent "Top Shelf" margaritas (more expensive, but well worth it).

It is the best!. I moved here from Tucson. This restaurant/bar is the most close to Tucson Sonaron Mexican I have ever found in Seattle! The prices are right for all the food you get and if you Want to practice your Spanish.. this is the place for understanding bar tenders and wait staff...they love it.

Great Mexican dishes, offers separate seating areas for families with minors. Full service bar with large televisions for sporting events. Margaritas are excellent, draft beers. Happy hours menu and lunch specials. Dishes are very good and reasonably priced.

Went there for the super bowl and it was all cool vibes. The salsa and chips were awesome, authentic taste. The customer service beyond excellent! The waitresses were constantly checking on their tables and filling up drinks. Wish I would have tried their food!

As someone from South Texas it is refreshing to find a nice Mexican restaurant up north. Food was great, GENEROUS portions, and service that seemed eager to make a great impression. Marg was a little sour. We will definitely be back again and again.

Spacious place to enjoy common, traditional Mexican / American fare. Great for groups. I havent ever been disappointed by the food or drinks Ive had (wine / margaritas). Their shredded beef is really tasty, I get it on their nachos for lunches.

Great American version of Mexican food. Friendly and helpful staff. My favorite Mexican place in Seattle. Chips and salsa free with each meal. Two big screens make watching big sporting events in the bar fun, too.

Very solid mexican food in Seattle. I had the Pollo Macho and it had plenty of veggies and excellent chicken in nicely spicy sauce. The serving was huge and everything was tasty. Highly recommended!
