I had high hopes after reading some of the reviews but I must say I was a bit disappointed in the pizza, perhaps only because my expectations were so high. When I get pizza from a brick oven I want the crust to be burnt black in some spots. I noticed the pizzas coming out of the oven were pretty white looking so I asked that mine be cooked more crispy. Mine did come out darker on the top than the others I had seen. Mine even had a few small areas of black, but the underside of the crust was still not very brown. Maybe the crust is just a bit too thick to cook it like I prefer? It was more chewy than I wanted it to be. Roll it just a bit thinner and it may turn into a delicacy. Beyond the crust, the pizza was just a bit too bland for me. The sauce and cheese were pretty sparse. That may be traditional but it misses the opportunity to add flavors to the pizza. The toppings didnt have a lot of flavor either. I ended up using black pepper, parmaesan, and the pepper oil they provide just to get the flavor up near where I wanted it to be. It wasnt a bad pizza by any means, but it just didnt have a big "wow" factor which seemed like a missed opportunity to me. Had I cooked this at home, it would have been drizzled with good olive oil before and after cooking and added some fresh basil and maybe oregano or marjoram. The decor of the restaurant is very nice and the service was pretty attentive too. You wont get the professional service that youll get in downtown Seattle, but hey, this IS Rainier Valley! Will I go back? Maybe....

The atmosphere is a little bit too much stereotype-zed (in Italy you will not find that kind of furniture, tables and decorations in any restaurant any more since 40 years), however the food is very good. We had several different pizzas, all good, plus some "antipasti", also good, as well as the salsiccia and bell peppers. Also the lemon cream was at level and the espresso. The prices are fair and reasonable. This restaurant holds the certification of the "Pizza Verace Napoletana" (real Neapolitan pizza) which is a quality certification well considered. Maybe its not the best pizza in the Seattle area, but for sure its worth of a visit.

I am sure there are others involved but I have known this family for a number of years. Vince grew up in the business with a local family owned Italian group of restaurants. "Vinces". Young Vince and his lovely wife bring a distinct touch of class to this small space. You feel like you have stepped out of your car and into a small Italian restaurantin the old country. The atmosphere, food, wine all together are a treat! Dan & Gail S

My fiance and I drive on Rainier all the time and kept saying how we wanted to visit this place to see what its all about. Their Wood-fired pizza is so delicious! I read an newspaper article they had posted in their window while waiting briefly for our table. The article talked about how Pulcinella Pizzeria is somewhat of an offspring of Seattles famous Vinces Italian Restaurant. I encourage anyone to check it out!

This is cute little Neapolitan Style Pizzeria restaurant. Parking was easy, and food was good. I dont recall a place in Seattle that serves small clams like this restaurant does, but its quite good. Their pizza was not bad too. The dough has a good kind of chewy texture, and their ingredients seemed fresh. We ordered the Pompeii pizza (pesto, mozzarella with prosciutto) and the Margherita with Portobello mushrooms.

Excellent neapolitan pizza! Place is cozy, staff is very friendly and their pizzas are amazing. Very fresh ingredients. My favorite is the Vesuvio (with sausage and onion). Their Caesar salad is also delicious with a very good dressing. The salad comes with these pizza crust breadsticks with oregano and parmesan cheese that is bakes. They are delicious and a great complement to the salad. Definitely recommend.

This place is my wife and my favorite restaurant. We have been going since it opened and have never had a bad experience. The pizza is true to the Neapolitan style, and I have yet to taste any other pizza that comes close to authentic Italian pizza. The service has always been great. The prices are fantastic. Amazing place and I hope the Seattle area realizes what a gem Pizzeria Pulcinella really is!

I just started a new job in the area and I wanted to try out the local pizza joints. Ive tried the rest, now try the best at Pizzeria Pulcinella. WHen I mentioned "The Rest" I mean I will never go back to these joints. Not because they cant compare to this place, but because Ive gotten the worst service ever. One call to this place and already I can tell Ill never go anywhere else for pizza.

The staff is very friendly and very welcoming with the nice local mom and pop shop feel. If you like Neapolitan pizza, this is one of the best in the Seattle area; the crust is soft and chewy and not over baked to the point its all charred out like some other places. If you grab a seat at the bar near the oven, you can even see your pizza made in front of you.

By far the best Pizza, best people, and best atmosphere in the area! Of course youll come for the pizza but must start with a salad, the are all great and are accompanied with fresh brick oven focaccia bread...youll be so glad you did. I often come for only the salad but always end up with a pizza....or more. I consider everyone here either friend or family.

The thin crust pizza here are to die for. It is crisp, chewy, and tasty. Opt for the cheese pizza and youre going to enjoy every morsel of it. I have been coming here for years and I have never been disappointed. If only all pizzerias could be like this place. The crowds here can get busy on the weekend.

Went there on Valentines Day. Elegant and laid back at the same time. Perfect spot for us. The pizza and the pasta, the wine - all wonderful and good value. The staff were very responsive and chill. No attitude or hoity-toity here. Just great food in a wonderful atmosophere. Would definitely come back.

Youll notice that all non stellar reviews are from people that were expecting a different type of pizza. If you want authentic Neapolitan pizza (thin delicious crust, light sauce, few or no toppings) come here for the best in Seattle. If you want American pizza, go to one of the 500 places around town.

Great staff & amazing wine pairings. The owner & his wife both came over seprately which made the service exceptional. The pizza was delicious- best crust ever! They have a house infused spicy olive oil that I have to recreate at home somehow. Also, make sure you leave room for the nutella calzone!!!!

This place is fantastic! The food is so good. They use the best ingredients, and from the appitizers to the main course, everything is delicious. An elegant place for dinner, but without pretentiousness or crazy prices. Its one of our favorite places and a true neighbourhood gem.
