This was my first visit to a Claim Jumpers, and I was very please with the experience. We dined on a Saturday night, and did have to wait a few minutes, but there is ample waiting space both indoors at the bar and outside under the covered entry, so it was a pleasant wait. After our brief wait we were seated at one of the tables in the "porch" area. Here in lies my only complaint about the whole experience. The seating area we were in was quite narrow, but was seated with two large parties in addition to small "two-tops" along the inside wall. This made it difficult to get to and from out table as we had to squeeze past the large tables in the middle of the room. Also the seats themselves in this area are a bit odd, and were uncomfortable for a leisurely meal. Our server arrived quickly and took our drink order while we surveyed the extensive menu. The restaurant offers a good variety of standard American fare, as well a few things that are less common. I ordered the Country Fried Steak, as it is not something you get everywhere. Thinking I might like dessert later, I ordered the half portion and a small green salad. The salad came out very quickly and was a pleasant mix of greens with interesting corn bread croutons. When my meal arrived, I thought a mistake had been made. The portion was huge, but I was assured was only a half order! It was delicious and more than I could finish, so dessert was out of the question. All during dinner our server kept my soda glass full and made sure we had everything we needed. When the check came I was pleasantly surprised that the meal was very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality of the food! I would definitely dine here again.

In a word, terrible. Ive been forced to go to this establishment 4 times now in the past 10 years and it seems to get worse every time. Tonight we had my mother and sister in laws birthday party there, we had 530 reservations but ended up showing up an hour early. The restraint wasnt busy at all when we were seated but the wait staff served our table of 13 like they had much more important things to do tonight. We were there for 30 minutes before the waiter brought our drinks and another 20 after that until he took our orders. Another hour goes by and we finally start seeing some of the food brought out, they brought 4 plates out every 5 minutes and ended up not bringing one adults meal and one 5 year olds meals out. After another 15 minutes of waiting we talked to a manager and our food miraculously showed up right away, getting a tongue lashing for the awful service they decided graciously not to add on the 20% mandatory tip and comped us 2 free pieces of their cake to share between 13 people (they dropped off the cake 20 min after taking everyones clean plates away but forgot we needed forks so I had to go to the service station and take some myself). Ive never been to a place that cared so little for giving service and has given such awful comps when the service was that bad. If they drop their prices to the burger king level maybe it will be worth it to deal with the crowds and terrible parking but I doubt it. This isnt the worst place you can eat but Im guessing not many people would pay these prices to eat in a honey bucket.

Hit this Claim Jumper on 180th Street based on previous reputation in SoCal. Server was attentive and friendly on a late evening midweek visit. My partner ordered the widow maker burger, I the chicken pot pie with a side french onion soup, and we shared an order of mozzarella cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were out quickly, nicely hot and crispy, and had a good flavor with the marinara. The soup was hot with plenty of cheese on top and a nicely solid beefy onion flavor. We waited a fairly lengthy time for the rest of the meal (almost 20 minutes), and the waiter and manager came to apologize for the delay with a hot bowl of fresh fries. Apparently the pot pie was the cause for the delay. When the food finally arrived, the burger was hot around the edges, but was starting to cool in the middle.... probably was sitting around waiting on the pot pie to finish. The pot pie itself was nicely hot and toasty, the crust flaky and the inside had plenty of chicken. My only complaint was that the stew was perhaps a bit on the runny side, but otherwise had a good flavor with a pleasant assortment of vegetables. On the overall was not bad, but just an OK visit.

This place used to be the bees knees, but now it just plain sucks. Had a friend in town wanted to take her out to a great restaurant, wish we would have went to the Cheese cake factory (Ive heard good things). The wait wasnt bad at all and our waiter just sucked big time he was too busy trying to be buddy, buddy with us instead of doing his job. We felt like he was just working us for a tip and every time he walked up he would interrupt our conversation and join in like we were all good friends and he insisted on telling us personal things which was no ones business. He messed up on our drinks and didnt bring a set of silverware or a to go cup for one of our drinks. Oh and what was really nice was my husband sitting down on the seat only to find butter with his hand on the seat, lovely. And as for the food, it is really tasteless, I was so highly disappointed especially at the cost of the food and it being so poor in flavor and all I had was the giant baked potato, didnt think you could really screw that up...boy was I wrong. We will not be going back and Im not sure if we will ever go to any of the other Claim Jumpers either.

Very slow service and bad food. The server was a nice guy but it literally took 45 minutes to get a glass of wine, and other service was slow as well. The menu is very pedestrian. The wine was not very good for the price. The salad looked and tasted like dried out lettuce from a bag, the hamburger patty was obviously previously frozen and it was covered in ketchup--yuck! I dont even like ketchup and most places let you choose to put it on yourself if you want. I am usually not even a complainer but I really did not like this place. It also was not even that inexpensive, which it should have been for the quality they offer. There are so many better restaurants to choose from in the greater Seattle area. I would not go there again, unless I was with a group who really wanted to go there--and in that case I would probably just have a beer, because thats difficult to ruin and you know what youre getting!

Placed an order for appetizer and drink along with dinner for two. Received the drink right away and then dinner half hour later. Halfway through dinner we received the appetizer. Did not see our server during meal, he walked past a few time and then realized we were not eating and gave us the bill and doggie bags. Dinner consisted of ribs and chicken. Ribs were basically meatless with sauce on bones and sliver of meat between bones. Never seen anything like that in a restaurant before. The smoked chicken was just gross. Tasted no smoke, seemed to be baked and had the days old chicken taste. Took it home for dogs. 2nd bad experience here, never again. The food we left restaurant with was basically garbage. This used to be a nice place to have a great dining experience but I would never recommend it to anyone now. Best thing that day was standing 3 hours in the cold for the Seahawks Superbowl Parade.
