The Best Ramen Ive Ever Eaten Kizuki Ramen is the best ramen house in Seattle -- probably even one of the top in the United States. The food is authentic and perfectly defines what ramen should aspire to be. If all that youve ever heard of or tasted of ramen is Maruchan, you owe it to yourself to experience this. Prices start at $8 for your basic Shoyu (soy sauce) soup base. The better broths and ramen bowls are more in the $12 range; and if you really wanted to go wild with add-on toppings, you could theoretically make a $20+ bowl of ramen. For anyone who is a first-timer, I would recommend the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen ($12), with a $.50 upgrade to fatty pork belly chasu (and maybe extra noodles, corn, and meat, if youre super hungry). In it, youll have alkaline noodles, bamboo shoots, chashu pork, mung bean sprouts, a soft-boiled egg, and nori (a piece of seaweed). The broth was cloudy, creamy, and extremely flavorful. Im reminded of that same "low and slow" method of cooking that makes real BBQ so special when drinking the soup. It doesnt hurt that the pork belly chashu is some of the best meat Ive ever eaten (they offer a dish with the same meat on rice -- Im sure its amazing). If you finish and have leftover broth, you have to option to buy extra noodles, and toppings (and I believe you can get extra broth); its basically a way to keep eating without buying a whole new bowl. If youre super hungry, you could probably do one-and-a-half bowls. Most will be perfectly content with a single bowl. If this is your first time, and especially if you dont eat a lot of Asian food, theyre going to ask if you want a low-sodium version of the broth. The regular broth isnt at all salty to me; in fact, I added shoyu to mine. I would suggest getting the regular broth unless youre avoiding sodium for health reasons. If you find that its too salty, they will provide you with free clear broth to even it out as you see fit. For those of you who dont know how ramen broth is made -- meat bones are slowly boiled for ten+ hours to create a rich and creamy broth. I cant stress the fact that this is a respected craft and is worlds beyond instant ramen. The restaurant is extremely busy and it is best to make reservations for dinners. It is not to be missed if you have any amount of love or respect for quality food.

This was my 2nd visit to Kizuki in West Seattle. Ive been raving about this place to my sister and was truly quite disappointed. We were excited we got seated right away..And noticed there were a few tables open. So we either just missed rush hour or were early. Servers came up to us right away to get our order. We asked for some time to look at menu. He came back one minute later! Dude! Of course we had to tell him come back. We ordered and he offered tea. When tea was served..It was warm to cold. I thought tea was usually served hot unless you ask for ice tea. ( 2nd disappointment). Food arrived and we started eating. I was shocked when a server asked us if we wanted boxes for our food just 10 minutes into our dinner. My sister and I looked a little confused why he was asking this..Because I was still stuffing my face with THE FOOD! (3rd disappointment) Why would they be turning tables already...There were plenty of them open. I asked for more tea...never came. (4th disappointment) We were lucky our water was refilled. Woohoo lucky us. Lets just say we still gave a tip but not as a good if the service was good. I probably wont be eating here or recommending this place for awhile.

The onigiri was very delicious and the service was amazing, but every ramen was very bland or not as described. The pork ramen tasted like fish water, our kid got spicy ramen instead of unspicy ramen even after we got another to replace the original spicy ramen they had accidentally gave her. As well their vegetable ramen was very unflavorful and not described as spicy in the description but was incredibly spicy that my husband who typically enjoys spicy food could not finish it. My mother-in-law got the chicken ramen but all the chicken pieces were covered in fat. Overall the food was not very good, but the manager comped the meal. Maybe a bad day or something but none of the party of 5 could really finish any of our ramen.

Food was very good. Wait staff could use some lessons in serving etiquette. Ordered a vodka martini with two olives; guy with blue hair brought the drink with a lemon and said "not sure how you wanted it".. when we told him that it was with two olives, he says "oh, that wasnt communicated to me" and he picked the lemon off the glass with his fingers and left. Then came back with two olives dangling from his fingers by the toothpick! Seriously dude!! you NEVER touch the customers drink like that in front of them. and you NEVER tell the customer is wasnt your fault you didnt understand the drink order. Then we had to ask for small plates to go with all the appetizers... very chaotic..

Huge fan of ramen and the Shio ramen here, in my opinion, is delicious. Came alone and there is a long table setup in front of the open kitchen just for singles. Perfect. Extensive list of sake, including cloudy, make for a great evening. Service was exemplary. Left my seat after eating for about ten minutes to have a smoke outside and when I returned the server apologized profusely explaining my sake had been taken away and my table cleaned but he had refilled it at no charged and it was waiting for me at my seat. Recommend to anyone and will be returning soon!

Stopped by their new location. It was a little chaotic to get your name on the list and to get seated and it was insanely hot inside. We ordered a couple drinks and the croquettes for an app. We each ordered ramen. The croquettes were pretty good. The ramen was alright but there is better ramen in seattle. The service wasnt great...very friendly but they kept forgetting things...our drinks...things they recommended to get with the ramen, our bill.

I like the food but I hate the style. You sign in yourself (they dont do it) on a form that asks twice if everyone is there. Literally, your friends can be reading the hours posted on the glass outside and they will not seat you until they are inside. They focus more on maximizing their space than on customer comfort. If you dont mind being a cog in the machine, their garlic ramen is quite good.

Get 1500% of your daily sodium intake here. The best thing you can get here is actually the chicken salad, all other food are so average. The miso ramen is so salty that Donald Trump can order 2 bowls, drain, extract the salt out again, and build a wall with them. Unfortunately I have came here a few times coz the location is convenient, I just left with disappointment every time...
